The trees stretched for as far as the sentient eye could see as Tyga made his way through the forest to a particular spot, branches and bracken crunching underfoot. It still had to be here, it just had to - it could not have simply just vanished overnight after years and years of being here, could it? If so, obviously the person who had been hired to cut it down was cold inside and they had no conscience.

“Come on now, where are you?” he said to himself as he paid close attention to each and every tree within view, trying to discern the minute differences between each one within this particular stand.

Running his hands over each trunk, he tried to see if the old symbols had been carved into them, no such luck. He pushed deeper into the forest now, the sun still protuding from above the canopy. His hands ran over a nondescript trunk and his fingers came across a particular symbol carved deep into the bark - he was getting warmer, so Tya picked up his pace and kept an eye out for other symbols.

One by one, they appeared and he finally was on the right track. The final symbol he remembered appeared up ahead on an old, towering oak tree and Tyga knew that this was the spot. He began his search of the nearby trees and finally came upon what he had been searching for - a large hollowed out oak tree near a small pile of rocks, big enough to fit several people inside its cavernous hollow - and it had remained untouched and just as he had left it before he was taken in by the Jedi Order.

As soon as Tyga saw this particular oak tree, the memories came flooding back of his childhood, as he played in and around this oak while a child, camping out here and creating a base to use against the Sith on imaginary attacks against their patrols who were on the lookout for him. A smile came across his lips as he remembered the happy times, but then those much darker memories appeared at the forefront of his mind and flashes of that night they came looking, just after he had been taken in by the Jedi. The pirates ransacked the estates, and spent hours combing the forest trying to find the Twi’lek youngling for whomever paid for their services. They were all defeated by his relations, but the happiness of those carefree days as a child had all been tainted by the violent actions of others.

Crawling inside the cavernous opening, Tyga sat with his back up against the trunk and looked out at the forest, remembering all of the times he had spent here as a youngling. He hoped that the tree would stay here for one thousand more years, so his future nieces, nephews and cousins could play under its strong branches and explore its cavern, camp out underneath the stars and also use it for whatever their imaginations could conjure. Resting his head up against the trunk, Tyga picked up a branch that had fallen in the last storm and he moved it around like a lightsaber, evening making the humming. Outside, the sun shone down and birds sang high up above, the forest teeming with life.

Following in the footsteps of his ancestors was the only path Tyga thought of when he was given to the Jedi Order as a youngling many years ago to be trained in the ways of the Force. Every time he was engaged in battles with the enemies’ of Clan Arcona, the energy of his ancestors swirled around him and protected him, with the bloodlines going right back to the beginning of recorded history.

But he was taking a short break from clan activities, so he’d returned home to the Core Worlds and was spending a day at the family mansion. Wandering through the mansion, he found himself at the entrance to the library. This was where Clan Nilim and Clan Acyk kept their family history - ancient tomes which spoke of ancestors long passed who followed both the Dark and Light and somewhere in-between to protect the galaxy from any and all threats, alongside many ancient family heirlooms.

Opening the heavy wooden door, Tyga entered and his eyes took in the endless shelves of tomes and family heirlooms. He wandered past the shelves and looked at the heirlooms, thinking of the stories they could tell. Tyga had heard endless stories about his Mandalorian and Twi’lek ancestors over the years and their brave deeds in protecting the galaxy from those who wanted to take it and control it.

His green eyes fell on an old, leather-wrapped lightsaber hilt sitting on a stand in a far corner of the library. Holding an outstretched hand towards it, the hilt gravitated towards him in acceptance and rested in his open palm. Wrapping his fingers around it, he inspected the hilt, looking at its detailing and and functioning Kyber crystal held inside of it. His thumb moved up to the ignition switch and hovered over it, before Tyga ignited it on an instinct and out of habit. It lit up a vibrant bright green, humming away in his grasp. Turning it over, and trying some of his Niman movements with it, the ancient lightsaber performed flawlessly and also without any major issue while in his skilfull hands.

Tyga then returned the lightsaber to its stand and his eyes moved towards an old, leatherbound tome that had faded Aurebesh inscribed upon the cracked cover. Taking a seat at the prominent oak table, he opened it and began to read its contents. The tome described these events of the Infinite Empire’s violent subjugation and enslavement of every part of the galaxy. His finger stopped tracing words as his eyes fell upon the surname “Nilim” and he felt they were related through an ancient ancestor.

During the Infinite Empire’s reign, they captured a Twi’lek Force user amongst others during a raid on Tython and they tried to break him and turn him into one of their Force Hounds. He rebelled and freed ellow prisoners, overtook the prison and thus he escaped from the planet. Reading through the family tome more, Tyga discovered this ancestor’s name was also Tyga, the first recorded use of the name in history. From the holocrons contained in the tome, the pair looked identical, right down to the body tattoos, so he was glad to be carrying on Tyga’s bloodline and devotion to protecting those who were defenseless. Other holocrons in the tome described life in the Je’daii Order and his rise to Master rank, along with countless battles against the forces of the Dark Je’daii and later on the Sith.

“To those who have come before me in my family, thank you for your lives and your sacrifices…”
After coming to the end of the story, Tyga closed the tome and he sat in silence, praying for those of his family who had come before him, giving him the opportunities that he had in the Brotherhood.
