Consul Report

Welcome again, Tarentum! It's time for another fabulous issue of the Clan Report, brought to you by... me! Yep, I know, you love me. I love you too. Let's get down to biz.

For those of you who follow American football, the Superbowl was tonight. The Patriots won, 29-32, and #db on the Undernet was lit up with conversation about it all night. It was a pretty good game, and a lot of interaction from the DB members in the channel. The reason I mention this? You won't find any better place to get to know yoru fellow DB and Clan members than over IRC. It's a good place to get to know people, and to be involved. We're all here to be Star Wars fans, but more importantly, we all stay because we're friends. There's a couple of FREE ways to use the Undernet; you can use the DB's java applet, or download mIRC, a free IRC client. if you need help figuring either one of them out, drop me an email, I'll be happy to help.

Things happening in Tarentum, of course, are the judging for my Keepers competition (yep, still doing that), and the judging for Capital Gains. The judging has been slowed down by me being in school, which I do apologize for, but we're getting it done, and you will have results for both sometime mid-week this week. Also, for those new members, I'd just like to say, welcome to Tarentum. You've been placed into the largest Clan of the DB, and the best Clan, I believe. We've had a great showing recently in the Obelisk RoS, and Cestus has an excellent chance at being named the First House of the Obelisk Order. Tridens is currently the First House of the Sith Order, and has many excellent warriors in their halls. Gladius is made up of some of the best Krath around, and we only get better the more time goes on.

Cannabisia has created a new site for Cestus, and I'd like to thank him, and congratulate him on his efforts. There has been mention that we should keep the old site layout, but unfortunately, we don't have access to that anymore. The last time I checked, Blade Dranal took that site down when he left Cestus for Rogues to concentrate on his other committments. Cannabisia had help with images from Mav and Cyris, and I think they've all three done excellent work on the site for Cestus. We'll be getting House mailing lists established soon, so that it'll be easier for Houses to stay in contact with each other, and have more centralized communication.

For those members seeking a master to help train you, and help you adjust to the way we do things in Tarentum, and the DB, there's now a central email address that you can write to, to help us get you assigned to a master. [Log in to view e-mail addresses] is the current address for that, and if you desire a master, all you need to do is email us with your ID line, and tell us a few simple things that you really enjoy, so that we can find someone to help you build those areas up. Potential masters are anyone of the rank of DJK and up, so potential masters, expect me to look for you all to help us on this. Also, if you get to know new recruits, and would like to form an apprenticeship by yourself, you don't have to use that email address; you're more than welcome to form your own apprenticeships, but we need to make sure people are getting trained.

As part of welcoming, and training new members, we've developed a Tarentum Welcome letter, and it's located on the Clan Site. I'll be making sure the Clan Welcome Letter is as up-to-date as possible, but House Summits, make sure we're getting people the info they need to be successful. If you get an email about a new member, let's try and make sure we're welcoming them personally, and getting them started right. Members, we have excellent Quaestors, Aediles, Team Leaders.. and they're all waiting to assist you. The Clan Welcome Letter can be found at:

As far as competition goes, we're looking into several options, one of which includes a possible take on the Rebel Squadrons' Tours of Duty. We're going to see if we can make this effective in Tarentum, and I think it's something we can put to good use. We have a number of members who also belong to the RS, and I've heard nothing but good words about the ITOD's. Look for these to be made available as soon as possible, and, as always, give us ideas of things you'd like us to look into, if you have any.

As a final note, anyone who believes they have been overlooked for promotion, or award, or if you think another member of Tarentum, no matter who, is deserving of an award, don't hesitate to email myself, Rekio, and/or your Quaestors. Personally, I love seeing people rewarded for their efforts, and I don't want anyone to feel left out, or left behind. And, as always, don't hesitate to email me if you just want to talk, or have things on your mind, or even just to introduce yourselves. I love knowing everyone in Tarentum as well as I can. You're all my friends, and I'm proud to serve as your leader. I'm here for you, and to make sure that this is as fun as it can be. And like I say, even if you can't compete right now, and just want to be a part of the group, that's cool too. We all go through high- and low-points. Just make sure to keep in touch, and let us know what's up.

Let's rock this place, Tarentum, and show the DB who the dominant Clan is, and always will be.
