Consul Report

Aloha and good morning, Tarentum.

There's been a lack of communication from me lately, and I guess you can chalk it up to two main things. 1) Me being extremely busy lately with preparation, and 2) Me being almost unwilling to accept this as the end of this, my second run as Consul.

For those of you who are new, or haven't yet heard, I will be resigning as Consul within the next week or two. If you haven't heard, or haven't had the chance to get to know me as well as I'd like everyone to know me, let me explain a bit. For the last three years, I've been in college and the fire academy. I'm working on my Bachelor's Degree in Public Emergency Services Management. The Bachelor's Degree itself will be nice to have, but basically, it's just the degree program for firefighter paramedics. Yep, I'm in school working on the degree and attaining certification as a firefighter paramedic. For the last few years, I've been certified as both an EMT-Basic, and an EMT-Intermediate. I was in the RCA (Recruit Candidate Academy) this last semester for firefighter training, until I had to withdraw due to a shoulder injury. This next semester, I've been accepted into paramedic school, which is going to require pretty much all of the time I have. With this in mind, I made the decision to resign a couple of weeks ago. I'm not going to be leaving Tarentum, not in the slightest. While I need to focus my attention on medic school, I will be remaining in Tarentum, joining House Cestus. I look forward to serving under Karel, Kazarelth and Sato, and I definitely look forward to giving what time I can to the members of that House. I think it'll be fun times in Cestus, and in the Clan as a whole.

Grand Master Sarin will be taking applications for the position of Consul within the next couple of days, and will be accepting them until he finds the right person for the job. I have offered before, and continue to make the offer, that if any of you want help in putting together an application, if you'd like more info on what I've been working on as Consul so you can make plans (in your application) to continue those projects, I'll be glad to take time to help you get informed and familiar with things. If you're interested in the job of Consul, you'll need to be submitting an application to Sarin. I imagine he and I will probably discuss the applicants, and I'll be giving him my impressions and thoughts on whomever applies, so that Sarin can make the right choice for this Clan. Please be assured, Sarin has been my friend now for several years, and he has also been a friend and supporter of this Clan for just as long. He is interested in making sure that Tarentum is taken care of, and that the next Consul is someone who understands the Clan, and is a part of it. You don't have to worry about who Sarin will appoint. He's a good guy, he's an outstanding Grand Master, and he cares about each and every one of us in this Clan. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, feel free to drop him an email if you need to.

Each of the Houses in Tarentum are directed, led, and supported by excellent leaders. House Tridens is led by Archean, Adien and Raiju. These three gents are all good people, experienced leaders, and are ready and willing to help you whenever they can. I know each of these men, I have had the pleasure to work with them, and I know that, if you're in Tridens, you're in good hands. House Gladius has had a recent change in leadership, but trust me when I tell you, the people leading Gladius are excellent leaders. Telona Murrage has led Gladius before, in addition to having been Proconsul of the Clan, Krath High Priestess, Dark Voice Tribune, and more. Assisting her is Deatharoc, who has recently been made a Knight. Deatharoc has been a dedicated member, has run several competitions, and is a good addition to the Summit team of Gladius. If you need help, get in touch with them. If you're interested in being the Rollmaster/Envoy for Gladius, get in touch with them. There's always room for another great addition to the Summit team, and I know Telona and Deatharoc will be interested in discussing what you can bring to their Summit team. And in House Cestus, the team of Karel, Kazarelth and Sato are there to assist and befriend you. Each of these gentlemen brings experience and friendship into their House, and if you're in Cestus, you ought to be looking to speak with and befriend these three as much as possible.

Each House has a great leadership team, but each House is also gifted with amazing members. You all have the talent and potential to do anything you want in the Brotherhood. There is no better Clan than Tarentum. You joined the Brotherhood for a reason, and everything you want, everything you need can be found here. The Clan is full of friends waiting to be made. There are plenty of social opportunities, as well as competition opportunities for you. But here's the secret to all of this. You have to reach out and grab a hold of it. The Brotherhood is not school, or work. We are not teachers, or bosses. We cannot press you to participate, we cannot force you to do "homework," or anything. This Club is a leisure environment, one that is meant to provide you with activity and entertainment. But, you must be willing to step up and involve yourself. Your House leaders are waiting to help you, but you need to put forward an effort and ask them to help you get involved. Email your House leaders, introduce yourself, and let them know what you want to do to be involved. Let them know what games you own and like to play. Let them know what kind of writing you enjoy, and ask what kinds of writing activities the House has for you.

Get involved, ladies and gents. Be a part of things. Tarentum has always been one of the closest Clans in the Brotherhood. We are as much family as we are friends. We stand up for each other, we stand beside each other. We don't always agree on things. Let me reassure you, you may disagree with others in this Clan, but you are allowed to. Tarentum is your Clan. Tarentum is OUR Clan. We all have our feelings and opinions, but in the end, disagreements and awesome working relationships are all meant for the benefit of this Clan as a whole. Speak up, be a part of things, and help shape this Clan's future. Tarentum is not the oldest Clan, but it is one of them, and it will be around forever because of all of us.

Have a wonderful week, Tarentum. And remember, get active, and be a part of what this Clan is. If you need any help with anything, email your House Summits, or feel free to toss Armus and myself an email. We'll do what we can to help you out. Take care.
