Consul Report

Aloha and good evening, Tarentum.

Another week goes by. The hunt continues for the next Consul of this great Clan. Sarin is accepting applications, and for those of you who would like the opportunity to lead Tarentum, please, toss him an email at [Log in to view e-mail addresses], and make sure to add Muz, [Log in to view e-mail addresses] to it, too. This won't be just any email. They want to see an application that details your experience with the Clan, your leadership experience and ability, and your plans for the Clan. Feel free to add any recommends from people who are willing to support you as a leader from this Clan. As soon as Sarin finds an appropriate successor, I will be stepping down, and as I've stated before, I'll be heading to Cestus to work with those gents there. I'm honestly looking forward to some time to relax and enjoy being a member again. I want to say, I have had, and always have, an enjoyable time leading this Clan, or any part of it. Tarentum has been, and always will be my home within the Brotherhood, and you people are the ones that make this enjoyable for me. I don't think this will be the last time I serve Tarentum as a leader, but I can definitely say, I'm looking forward to some time away from the spotlight.

I'd ask you to continue to support and assist your House leaders during this transition. They need your participation, they need your communication, and they need your support. It's not always an easy task to lead in any House or Clan, but it does get easier when you know that the good people around you are there to support and assist however they can. When they need you to speak up and fill them in on things, toss them an email, or hit them up on IRC. If they need you to take part in competitions and represent your House and Clan, this Clan, please do so. Tarentum is a Clan with unlimited potential, and perhaps the greatest members of the entire Brotherhood. As strong and as capable as we are, though, we become nothing without unity first, and then action second. A quote that has become a favorite of mine in recent time, by Demosthenes (384 BC - 322 BC) states, "All speech is vain and empty unless it be accompanied by action." I know of this Clan's potential. I have seen this Clan's strength. And I have witnessed this Clan's successes, as well as this Clan's failures. We are defined by our own actions, and I would ask and encourage you all to do your part, and help your leaders mold this Clan into a continued success.

As my time draws short, I have seen that there are several things that I need to accomplish before I leave. Perhaps the biggest thing on my mind (at least for tonight), is that I want to create a reference page to give mentors a greater understanding of what we have in mind for the Trials of Knighthood, and create it as an assistant to help mentors and leaders produce a Jedi Hunter's Trials. I think there may be a misconception that the mentor creates all of the Trials, and runs them alone, with judgment help from the Summits. This is incorrect. The object of the Trials was to teach each Jedi Hunter something about themselves and their abilities, to force them to interact and work with their mentors, and House and Clan leaders. This was also an opportunity for House and Clan leaders to work with each member in turn, in such a pivotal time for them on their path towards their Knighthood. Within the next week, I am hoping to have the time to get this created on the Wiki to completion for the upcoming, and ongoing Trials of our current Jedi Hunters.

One of the things I have always believed in is character development. It has been my belief that those people who really try and feel a personal connection to the Brotherhood, and especially to the Clan which they are a part of, remain some of the best, longest-lasting members. The more you put into becoming a part of this Clan and the members within it, the more you get out of it, the better your own experience, and the more enjoyment we all get out of it. By befriending and interacting with the members of this Clan, you'll not only have people to talk to and socialize with, but people to game with, people to write with, people to just enjoy your time with. Part of this IS character development. Creating yourself within the Brotherhood is a great way to be a part of everything here. And one of the many newer tools of the Brotherhood to help accomplish that is your Wiki. http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page is the main page. Please know, you can create your Wiki at any time. You can create it from the first day you are here. This is your page to describe your character fictionally, and to really exhibit yourself as a member of the Brotherhood. Take a look at other Wikis from members in Tarentum. http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/wiki/index.php?title=Category:Clan_Tarentum is the Tarentum category. From this page, you can access pretty much any page relating to Tarentum, or created by the members of the Clan. Take a look, and then get started on your own. I encourage you to get involved in this Clan on a fictional level, and to get involved with each other on every level. Make friends, and have some fun. And then when it comes time to compete against the other Clans, we can kick some serious ass. We're here to have fun, but we're also here to show people why this Clan stands with the best wherever we go.

Get involved, make friends, and have fun. Above all else, Tarentum is about friendships. Tarentum is about having fun. And Tarentum is about being who you are. Be a part of things, and lets show people what we can do, and what we are. Have a great week, Tarentum. Look for more info coming in the next weeks about who the next Consul will be, and get in touch with your House leaders, and find out how you can help them make each of the three Houses in Tarentum the best we can be. Have a great one.
