Consul Report

Before you read this report, I have an announcement to make for everyone. Waldron Ravenblade is running a graphics competition! For this competition, which runs the entire month of June, you get to make a graphical representation of some sort of mount your character rides. Send your entries to Waldron at [Log in to view e-mail addresses]. You can find more details here.

RSD Final Way Tarthos Orbit Orian System

Locke stood on the observation deck of the Final Way, watching the last few transports return to the Onyx II station. Outside, the curtain of stars slowly began to rotate as the Final Way turned away from the station. As the station slipped out of view, Locke looked down at the datapad in his hand and frowned. It displayed a list of the Sons of Sadow and their current whereabouts. The location column of the list displayed unknown for far too many of them.

Sighing, Locke slipped the datapad back into a pocket of his robes. His thoughts had been so conflicted lately. The Festival of Renewal had been a success, but now Kar Alabrek was an unstable power pack, ready to explode at any moment. With the recent shift in leadership in House Marka Ragnos, Locke couldn't say whether things would improve or worsen. He hoped the uprising would not get out of hand, but hope alone had never been enough.

Then there were the terrorists on Aeotheran and the reappearance of the Organization. They were an unknown factor. Their one known base had been cleaned out. It was far too organized to have been the headquarters.

All of this took a back seat in Locke's mind though. There was one issue that would not go away. Where were the Sons?

Abruptly, Locke raised his head and opened his eyes, sensing a presence behind him. He sensed no alarm as he turned his head. "Admiral."

"Watching the stars, sir?" Admiral Simonetti approached the view window to stand beside Locke, his hands clasped behind him in a perfect professional manner.

Locke shook his head slightly. "Just thinking."

"Oh." It wasn't a question, the Admiral left it at that.

For a moment, the two stood there. Locke broke the silence abruptly, speaking anathema to normal protocol at the same time. "It's the Sons. I don't know where they are. I don't know what to expect." He stopped there. Locke knew the Admiral had worked with many of the Sons of Sadow in the past.

The Admiral sighed. "I was not privy to all the...specifics of your takeover, but I can tell you this. If it was hostile, you struck first, and they will seek revenge."

There was another long period of silence. "They're stronger in the Force."

"You have an army."

Locke laughed hollowly. "I don't want to send my people to a pointless death."

"It won't be pointless if you use them right. This is the burden every leader must face."

"Ha, I'm a sold-bah, nevermind."

"You fought in the Vong war, didn't you?" the Admiral asked.

"Yeah, but..."

"A soldier doesn't think about losing or failure. He makes do with what he has. That's how-"

"We won the war, " Locke finished.

"As did we, " the Admiral said. "If you'll excuse me, I must be getting back to my duties."

"Of course, ' Locke said. They briefly saluted. As the Admiral withdrew, Locke laughed quietly. He slipped the datapad back into his hand and began typing into it. "We'll make do with what we have alright."

Hey guys, it's time for another Consul report. This one will be sort of short, but I want to focus on some important stuff. There's a couple of really important announcements and reports I'm bumping down with this (sorry guys!) so be sure to read them as well.

First up, the SvC (that's Sons vs Clan) event entitled Children of Revolution is pitting the Sons against the current Summit in a fictional battle for control of the Clan. This event begins on the first, which is in two days! There will be many events released in addition to the Runon. We hope everyone can have a blast with the conflict and really enjoy it.

In other news, we've had another shuffle in Summit positions as we work toward a structure that works better for the future of the Clan. Jeric has had to step down due to a busy schedule and upcoming deployment. Thank you for your efforts Jeric and be safe.

Kalia Phoenyx has stepped over from Rollmaster to fill his position and currently the Rollmaster position has been closed. We have re-activated the Aedile positions and appointed Methyas as Kalia's Aedile and Tsainetomo as Atra's Aedile. These two veteran members will be a great asset to our relatively new Summit (except Teu, she's been here forever :P). Once they've helped out for awhile we'll open the positions to newer members to give you guys a shot at leadership and a chance to learn more about the Dark Brotherhood, so this should really benefit everyone in the future.

We've had a couple of major awards since my last report. I'd like to recognize both Teu for her Sapphire Blade and Atra for his Steel Cross. They've been outstanding members of the Clan and Summit and deserve their recognition. Great job guys!

That concludes this report. Pretty short, but to the point.

TL;DR:

  • SvC about to start
  • More Summit changes
  • Teu and Atra get a SB and SC, respectively

Until next time,

For Sadow!
