A Liath Story.....

District 1, Governors Office

"Who the hell are these guys" the portly man in an immaculate suit demanded from his subordinates.

"Adrestia is a recent immigrant from Coruscant with minor political and business experience. She was elected to the parliament of District VII shortly after arriving, rapidly becoming its speaker, this has all happened within the last year," a man said from behind a dark bland suit and dark sunglasses.

"I know all of that asshole. She's an articulate xeno. That doesn't tell me why she is surging in the polls!" the governor said shooting small pellets of spit and food remnants in the general direction of the agent.

"Unlike any other Xeno candidates for governor she managed to gain corporate backing" a third person wearing slacks and a crumbled blazer said, sounding distracted.

"Whhhhhooooo," the corn fed governor said in an exaggerated manner.

"Liath Inc apparently," the man in the crumpled blazer shot back.

"Who is that? Are they new here?" the governor questioned again, disdain apparent in his voice.

"Apparently they are not, but for over a decade they have been a holding company under a different name, until they started doing high level financial transactions earlier this year," the agent read off from a datapad.

"That seems fishy," the governor said trailing off.

"That's not all," the adviser in the blazer suggested. "She seems to have the vocal support of that cult that has been popping up in districts 5, 6 and 7. What are they called?"

"Viata," the agent added.

"That's right," the legislative aid in the rumpled blazer said. "Their message is real hippy dippy but they seem to be catching on among the poor. They're led by a light skinned, strange little Sephi named Eros."

"Since when does having support among the poor win elections?" the governor said frustrated.

"When they also have religious support to secure electoral victories with tax free labor and they have serious corporate backing that apparently just hired Geall le Fola," the legislative aid replied.

"Who'se Geall le Fola?" the governor asked his principal staff members, genuinely confused.

"A newer, 100% more legal incarnation of the Reckoners," the agent replied matter-of-factually.

The governess eyes got kind of big as he replied. "The team of elite assassins?"

"Geall le Fola has engaged in assassination. But their bread and butter is close protection, information security and shadow ops," the agent replied again clearly well versed in his material.

"Troubleshooters?" the governor replied with a perplexed look on his face.

"Pretty much" the agent replied.

"What could they be planning," the governor asked his closest advisers.

The semi-forgotten legislative assistant added "Most unobtrusively, to win the election."

"Maybe, but there's gotta be more to it," the governor said weakly as he packed up his brief case and then walked out of the room.

The agent nodded his head at the legislative aid who produced an encrypted datapad. Punching a button there was a sharp chirp and then the image of a particular Cathar appeared on the screen.

"Executive Ranarr, the information was delivered as per instructions," the legislative aid said in a loud whisper.

The sentient feline creature who was the Chief Executive Officer of Liath Inc. was simultaneously conquering the business world and the underworld through deft financial transactions and the violent destruction of all organized crime that would not answer to him.

"Good boys, I have another job for you" the Quaestor of Liath conveyed with a little bit of excitement in his voice.

The Situation In Which We Now Find Ourselves

The fact is that the Great Jedi War was put off, perhaps indefinitely. We have all been gearing up and mentally preparing for a major competition. Myself and Quaestor Ranarr had discussed an event following the Great Jedi War that would lead us from the events of the Great Jedi War to our mission on Yridia IX. In the absence of the Great Jedi War we are skipping right to it.

So Tomorrow a new competition starts for the House Liath! Let's hit the ground running on this. It's 8 events, many of which are incredibly easy to participate it. I would love 7/8 participation from everyone but I will except a median of 4/8. So if everyone shoots to do at least 5 events we can easily meet that.

alt

What This Competition Can Do For You

Competitions are fun. They give you a chance for newer Tarenti to stand out from the pack by either excellence or sheer participation. Additionally they let us help increase the metrics for Clan Tarentum that the Dark Council looks at when determining which Clans are being successful. More than that, many crescents are up for grabs. Those crescents will lead to medals and promotions!

You may be saying that you're a veteran Equite and simple activity will not help you in promotions, but you'd be wrong. Normal activity is not just for newer members. Many mid-level Equites including myself have met the leadership requirements for our next promotion but are simply lacking regular activity. I want to promote you all, give me half a reason.

alt

This is our story. This is when we begin to make Tarentum our own.

Eden City, the Crown Jewel of Yridia has long been an enigma to the Clan Tarentum. Large, uncontrollable, teaming with life. Life, the only subject the Clan of Death have a hard time wrapping their heads collectively around. The Dark Jedi of House Mortis could never gain control of the planet, they have forsaken their humanity. They are a House of sociopaths. Bloodfyre knew this when he fought for the Clan to protect the grays. He knew the Clan needed their innate humanity to gain control of the last but most significant planet in the Yridian system.

This is our mission! This is our time! This is our moment in the sun! Don't let is pass by you!

alt

Today is when the Tarentum House of Gray begins to serve its intended purpose.

We know who and what we are to the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. But the Eden Imperative requires that neither the force abilities of the gray Jedi's involved nor their connection to a larger force wielding group be betrayed. So while you might be a Journeyman or Equate in the Clan Tarentum, who exactly are you to Eden?

Are you a political aid that does a politicians dirty work to peddle influence for Liath? Are you a Corp executive committing nefarious deeds to traffic wealth for Liath? Are you a minister to the downtrodden, convincing the masses of Eden to support causes important to Liath? Do you run the shadows in between them all, for both profit and the greater good of Liath? Tell us who you become in this world that we're all working together to usurp control of.

alt

District I "Uptown"

Here you will rub elbows with the elite and piss away a larger fortune partying in one night than a family of Down Zoners will ever see in a lifetime, amidst glitz and glamour. This district contains heavy commercial and light residential zoning.

Casinos dot the landscape of the posh wonderland that is District 1. So play all of the games and earn as many clusters as you can for the duration of the competition in order to make the big score.

alt

District II "Commercial District"

The high rise towers of the commercial district may be quiet but that's because the Yridian Civilian Defense Force resides here and the Corporations that dot the landscape wield immense power. This district contains heavy commercial and moderate industrial zoning.

Once you know who you are to Eden, tell us in the form of poetry what you mean to the police or what they mean to you.

alt

District III "Working Man's District"

This is a blue collar, middle class area. This is where the normal families of Eden live in suburbian bliss, in moderate sized houses with manicured lawns. This district contains moderate residential, light commercial and light industrial zoning.

A boring life of routine might make even normal people go insane. Tell us about insane things you would try as a citizen of Eden.

alt

District IV "Downtown"

Downtown is a place for drinking cheap booze, using designer drugs, engaging in sex for a price and dancing with someone you'll regret meeting under the hard glare of neon lights. This district contains heavy commercial and moderate residential zoning.

When you're downtown you take no guff from anyone. Whether your're a prize fighter in the ring or a pissed off customer, it's fight time. Get the highest score you can in this fun fighting game.

alt

District V "Down Zone"

This is where the less fortunate residents of Eden live packed together in crumbling high rise apartments, amidst squalor, between factories, under smoke filled skies. This district contains moderate commercial, heavy residential and heavy industrial zoning.

The Down Zones are far removed from the red carpets of District 1. Tell us why you love Eden and why you hate it.

alt

District VI "Refugee District"

The Refugee district is where new arrivals to Eden are placed in semi-permanent camps, often amounting to no more than shanty towns. This district contains moderate commercial, heavy residential and heavy industrial zoning.

The life of the rejected is hard. Many come here without family and without friends seeking a better life. Write about you frustratingly speaking to an inanimate object. Humor is appreciated in this task.

alt

District VII "Alien District"

All non-humans are settled here in giant crumbling buildings that date back all the way to the founding of Eden and is an area that makes the Down Zone look appealing by comparison. This district contains moderate commercial, heavy residential and heavy industrial zoning.

Create a graphic representation of the most exotic alien you into while in District VII.
