Greetings all,

As many of you know, Sang has just stepped down from Consul of Clan Naga Sadow. Sang has served as Consul for more than a year, during which Naga Sadow was consistently among our most active units. Sang has always been quick to weigh in on Dark Summit discussions, and his light hearted attitude will be missed from our discussions. As Sang knows, once his health improves we'll be putting him back to work. ;) In his place, we are elevating Bentre Kairn'tel Stahoes to Consul of Naga Sadow. Bentre has served as Proconsul for over a year now and has proven himself as worthy of the chance to succeed Sang. We are excited to see what Bentre will do with the reigns of Naga Sadow!

In addition, our Headmaster Farrin will be stepping down. Farrin has served admirably as Headmaster for more than two years, and we have been lucky to have him. Farrin and I had discussed his desire to retire for the last few months, and we decided this was an opportune time for Farrin to take the next steps in his journey in our Brotherhood. I have no doubt that Farrin will remain active and involved and, in time, will find his way back into leadership. Farrin has been a tremendous asset on the Dark Council, always willing to fill in where needed. During the GJW, he was a necessary additional judge for the ACC tournaments, and he is always a reasonable and objective voice in discussions. I know I speak for the entire Dark Council when I say Farrin will be missed.

That said, we will need a new Headmaster. Farrin will serve out the next two weeks while we sort out his replacement. The duties of the Headmaster are principally related to the administration of the Shadow Academy and participation in development of the new member experience. Specific requirements for this position beyond those listed in the position description in the Wiki are:

• A working understanding of the Shadow Academy in its current state, both positives and any negatives
  
• Significant leadership experience within the Brotherhood
  
• <24 hour email turnaround time and regular presence on Telegram
  
• Ability to work as a member of the current Dark Council team
  
• Innovative ideas on how to continue to develop the Shadow Academy in today's Brotherhood
  

Applications will be open for the next two weeks, ending on 5/26. Applications should make clear how the individual fulfills the above responsibilities (either explicitly addressing them or implicitly through e.g. detailing relevant experience) and should define short and long term goals for the Shadow Academy (a 30/60/90 day plan is acceptable but not required). All applications must be submitted by email to myself and the Deputy Grand Master. Please note that we are willing to entertain proposals for potentially large changes to the SA/other HM spheres, as we do for any open DC position, but any change that may require coding should first be run by the SCL and, if a proposal includes significant alterations to the SA at a code-based level, the SCL must be CC'd on the application. If applicants are unsure if their ideas would require code changes, check with either James or me.
