And So, It Beings

“It was like watching stories being born.”

A wall of screens lit the room with a blue haze. Eight different matches, eight different planets, sixteen combatants. Not one Journeyman out in the field had any idea they were being monitored; measured. Wagers had been made, and all were ready to fight for their lives. Glory was available for the taking. The victors would be forever enshrined in the halls of the Brotherhood. History was waiting to be written.

Marick Arconae stood with crossed arms behind a former adversary. Alaris Jinn was seated at a large control panel. His fingers flew across the controls and the screens zoomed in on one particular combatant. Jinn let a sharp, toothy grin appear on his face. He knew who would be victorious; he always did.

He watched for a moment, then returned the screens to their original view. The combatants were making their way off their shuttles, taking in the scenery of the respective planet or city they had been sent, unaware of what lay ahead.

Alaris leaned back and interlocked his fingers behind his head. These had always been his favourite moments and he would not miss a single one.

Welcome!

We are thrilled to have you on board the ACC Journeyman Tournament of 2016! As per the ACC Rubric, one of the main focus points is in the Story you tell within your combat narrative. We very much encourage you to explore telling a story that is compelling and original. Your matches will be graded with the regular weight, but we want to see some interesting stories from some of our newer members. If you take a look at the matches of some of our veterans, you will see them go into detail and have interesting and original stories and endings.

Please familiarize yourself with our settings for this tournament.

• Each match will be 2/2, Alternate Ending.
• You have 72 Hours per post. There will be allowed one extension per match.
• Word post limits are 250 minimum and 1000 maximum. Failure to follow this will result in disqualification.
• If you get promoted during the Tournament, the Combat Master, Marick Arconae, will work with you to set up your new CS, which you will be able to use upon the beginning of your next match.
• If you get promoted to Equite 1 during the Tournament, you will be allowed to continue to participate, but only using your Journeyman-4 Rank.
• Alaris Jinn will be grading the semi-finals and the finals, working directly with the Combat Master, Voice, and Deputy Grand Master. The first two rounds will be graded by the entire ACC Judging staff.
