Clan Naga Sadow Consul Report November 7

Happy J-Day! This week I bring you tales of mystery and wonder! Or at least some more talk about the results of Fading Lights, future events and of course the Day of the Fox.

Did we not cover Fading Lights the other day?

Yes, but I’m bringing it up again. As I said the other day, we came fifth because the tiebreaker for fourth place with Odan Urr was decided by participation ratio where they beat us with their 1.282 to our 1.2. I know I have said this already and Macron said it in his report as well, but as little as four more submissions would have ensured us the fourth place with the Victory Star Destroyer prize that came with it.

Now I know Clan Naga Sadow has never had the “win win win!” attitude, but that does not mean we shouldn’t participate. Participation in competition, both during Vendettas and outside them, show the summit and the Brotherhood that you’re active, and as we could clearly see here that one extra submission you send in could be the one that makes the difference between fourth or fifth place.

There is also the possibility that you might surprise yourself, maybe you’re a better writer/artist/gamer than you think? Maybe you come up with a unique take on a fiction/graphic prompt that earns you a place in the top 3? In the Dark Crusade I earned a Silver Nova for second place in one of the fiction events. When I set out to write that piece of fiction I knew I would never place in the top three so my aim was really just to get to the minimum word count, and try to make it humorous as well. Apparently this meant my entry stood out which earned me that second place. So who knows? That entry you submit the next time just for participation may just earn you a Nova!

What can you tell me about the future?

Not too much specific right now. As Macron mentioned in his report the results of the poll about what you wanted to do are in now it’s just a matter of setting it up, we will have it up and running as soon as possible.
Come December we will also be seeing another round of competitions to decide who gets to occupy the Black Guard positions for the first quarter of 2015, Macron already announced that the top journeyman performer in the upcoming phase of the Orian Assembly storyline will be his Black Guard.

In the new year, sometime in January/February we will have Great Jedi War XI, which will be the culmination of the Dark Crusade/Fading Lights storyline which by then has run for two years.

Following that we are currently talking to Scholae Palatinae about doing a joint event. So as you can see we’ve got the next couple of months mapped out already and I hope you will enjoy what we’re planning.

What’s the Day of the Fox?

Basically it’s the anniversary for when Grandmaster Firefox got the job and it’s one of the two “holidays” the DB has each year, the other being Exodus Day, the anniversary of the split from the Emperor’s Hammer. In reality though it’s one of the two days each year we hand out Seals of Loyalty, this time Naga Sadow’s nominations were Locke and Daedric, both of which are examples we all should follow with their activity and drive. I would just like to once again congratulate both of them and thank them for all the work they have done and continue to do.

What the hell is J-Day?

An excuse to get drunk? It’s the day in Denmark where this year’s Christmas beer is available in stores so as I said, an excuse to start drinking earlier than usual on a Friday! Of course I took the car to university this morning so I couldn’t partake in it so anyways… moving on!
