Clan Naga Sadow Report - June 30th, 2016

Hey everyone. I hope you're all having a good summer. It is quite busy for us. We're currently involved in a feud with the dastardly, backstabbing, Imperialistic Clan Scholae Palatinae. However, while most of our focus is on that, we still have some other stuff going on in the background and some stuff from the past month before that to cover as well.

Clan News

On the Clan side of things, each House had a small event recently and both of those appear to have gone well. They were a good opportunity for House members to flex their muscles and relax between the big event of Firestorm and the feud which we are currently now involved in. I won't fill this report with a lot of major details about the feud, since you all have probably seen the news post or my email and including them here would just be redundant. That's our major thing at the moment.

In addition, wiki work continues in the background. Bentre is currently working on the wiki page for Operation Firestorm, which will include details from several members and art from Sildrin Sadow. We're happy to see progress on this, as in the past events would happen and we would not have wiki pages for them, and they would slowly be lost to history. Someone might remember a name, or the general idea of an event, but not what exactly happened, who was involved, or what the consequences were. We want to thank Bentre for taking the initiative to begin the page, and Sildrin for providing the main image we plan to include with it. Moving forward, we plan to update our wiki along with new events, so that our Clan's actions are not lost to history, and so that we will have a permanent record of who did what and when.

We've also recently had Ophelia complete the Vault of Naga Sadow wiki page, which catalogues all of the various artifacts Naga Sadow has accumulated over the years, along with all known details about them. In the future, once our Voice has decided how to recognize artifacts, we will hopefully be able to expand the details of them. In the meantime, it will be great to have them all in one place, with links to their more specific articles. If you're an oldie and/or a Clan Title holder and you see this and know something about one of these that's not listed, please come forward and let us know. We tried to reach out to people when making this list, but there's always the possibility that someone we would not have thought of knows something.

CNS has also recently had two venues specific to the Clan added to the Antei Combat Centre. I want to thank Atra for putting those together for us, and A'lora for the snazzy looking graphics on the images.

One of these venues is the Temple of Sorrow, which as you may know, is the headquarters of our Clan. This venue includes the area outside the Temple, as well as the Grand Hall. It's a great place for a climactic battle, or to confront your Consul...if you're into that sort of thing.

The second venue is the Ballista Crash Site. For those of you who don't know, a few years ago we had a feud with Scholae Palatinae and Plagueis. In this feud, the two units attacked CNS together, and then Scholae stabbed Plagueis in the back. (Do you see a trend here?) In any case, Plagueis scuttled the craft so that they could safely retreat from the Orian System, and it created a massive crater on Sepros. While debate raged over what to do with this, we discovered that this new geographical formation gave access to previously undiscovered Sith ruins, while nature slowly reclaimed the landmass of the site. There's also some twisted metal wreckage still within the crater. All of this makes for an excellent battleground, with a wide array of areas to fight in, and things that various different types of characters should find useful.

Additionally, Marcus has stepped down from Rollmaster to further focus on his job as Praetor to the Headmaster. We'd like to thank him for all of his hard work. Applications went well, with a lot of solid applicants. In the end, we went with Darius Tu'kul, better known as Cable. He comes to us from Odan-Urr, and has a wealth of knowledge and experience So far, he has done an awesome job of getting settled in and tackling the role, and has brought a lot of enthusiasm to the Clan Summit.

Brotherhood News

On the Brotherhood front, the Journeyman ACC Tournament has concluded. Our own Aul Celsus was second place overall, resulting in him being awarded the unique title of Gladius for the tournament, as well as receiving a unique dossier item. In other Combat Master news, Wally has released a report specifically focused on the Defender Discipline. This gives some insights into that Discipline, with an example character and a fiction piece that highlights how that character would be written. It's well worth the read if you're interested in learning about that Discipline. (Sang endorses this Discipline. Defenders are awesome, the other classes suck.)

There's also been a recent Fist Report. This talks about changes to Battlefront, but also talks about how to get a game approved and highlights that there is a trial period for a potentially new official platform. That game is Overwatch, so if you have Overwatch (for the PC), and are interested in playing it with other DJB members, it is currently in a trial period. For those of you who don't know, as far as I can tell Overwatch is like a first person MOBA, with several different characters to choose from. It sounds like a lot of fun from what I've heard.

There was also a Headmaster report earlier in the month, detailing what Farrin currently has his team working on and what's upcoming. There's a lot there, from course rewrites to audits and remodels, so I won't attempt to summarize it here. Instead, I suggest giving it a read if you're interested in the Shadow Academy.

In addition, there was a Voice report early in June. They called for Magistrate applications, and we should be hearing about their choices in the near future. I'd also like to note here that the Voice office usually runs cool fiction competitions that involve the divide between those who support the Inquisitorius and those who oppose them, and that their reports are worth reading just to find out about those and get involved.

Awards & Promotions

We've had a few good promotions and merit awards recently. We've seen three Summit members get promoted to the rank of Equite II within days of each other, they are Marcus, Tasha, and Darkblade. Each of them have received several solid recommendations for their work and I cannot do them justice here.

Furthermore, Bentre/Zachary has received a Steel Cross, while Qyreia has gotten an Anteian Cross. This is only in the past month; there have been many more in the past few.

Please join me in congratulating these folks again. It's people like them that allow our Clan to function, and who help make it as a great a place as it is. It's definitely a team effort, and without players like these members, we would not be where we are today.

That concludes this Clan report. Right now, our primary focus is the feud, but there are other things out there. There are new games to play, likely new Voice competitions on the horizon, and there is, of course, always more work to do!

We'll be in touch.

CNS on fire!!!

Nice report. Let's hammer in some feud entries and win this thing!

I would just like to state for the record that Locke does not endorse Defenders! He believes all Disciplines are equally cool. :P

Yeah Fued! Lets do it!
