Orian System

Near WIld Space

The cold expanse of space became the battleground as Clan Naga Sadow's newest starfighters, the Mark VII "Sadow" fighter, were out on the hunt. Assigned to the newly created Bogan I and Bogan II squadrons of the Warhost, they soared through the void of space with deadly intent. These cutting-edge vessels, adorned with the emblem of their Sith lineage, were making their Clan debut. They were poised for a dogfight stalking two squadrons of T-65C-A2 X-Wings that were escorting a couple of dilapidated cargo ships. They would soon regret conducting any raids within the Orian system.

The ships were a marvel of Sith design, and fit with modern and bleeding edge components. Each starfighter possessed a sleek and aggressive design, with two forward prongs on the sides jutting out from the central cockpit area. The wings featured s-foils that could deploy near the upper rear portions, giving each one of the vessels an intimidating and predatory appearance.

As the Mark VII's maneuvered into position, Commander Pax Tarrik, piloting the lead of Bogan I, surveyed the incoming threat of X-Wings on his tactical display. Tarrik gave the command "BREAK! BREAK! BREAK!" The fighters broke from formation, each flanked by their wingman, each pilot feeling that rush of adrenaline as they closed in for the kill.

Tarrik's voice echoed through the cockpit, transmitting to both squadrons, "Bogan I and Bogan II, engage and annihilate."

With that, the Mark VII’s surged forward, their engines roaring with power. The X-Wing squadrons, unaware of the advanced Sadowan starfighters that awaited them, approached with confidence. Their sensor HUD's showed no targets in the vicinity. They could not see the impending hell that was about to be unleashed from their eight o'clock position.

The Sadowan starfighters closed the distance with incredible speed, their advanced engines pushing them to the limits of their maneuverability. With their pseudo-cloaking devices engaged, rendered the Mark VII's invisible to enemy sensors up until unleashing their devastating firepower.

As the squadrons entered engagement range, Tarrik's Mark VII unleashed a barrage of crimson energy blasts, catching the X-Wing pilots off guard. "INCOMING! INCOMING!" one of the raiders screamed into his commlink. "What is the cranky are those things?! Are those TIE's?!" another exclaimed.

The Sadowan starfighters danced through the space skirmish with unparalleled agility, the s-foils deploying and retracting in a mesmerizing dance of predatory grace. The rest of fighters from Bogan I and Bogan II followed suit, their starfighters weaving through the chaos of dogfighting. The Mark VII's aggressive design allowed for precise and rapid maneuvers, outclassing the more traditional X-Wings in terms of speed and handling.

The pseudo-cloaking devices proved to be a decisive advantage. The X-Wing pilots struggled to lock onto the elusive starfighters, their targeting systems rendered useless against the advanced cloaking technology. This forced them to shoot "open-sighted," meaning they had to get in close. The Mark VII's could out maneuver the X-Wings then seemingly materialize out of nowhere on the X-Wing’s radar, before launching surprise attacks. Then vanishing once more from enemy radar and into the void. Textbook hit and run tactics with a twist.

Despite the X-Wings' valiant efforts, they found themselves outmatched and outmaneuvered. Tarrik’s voice crackled over an open comm channel, taunting the X-Wing pilots, "Your raid goes no further. Witness the might of Naga Sadow!"

Captain Tor Easu, the flight lead of Bogan II engaged a pair of X-Wings, his Mark VII darting through the space battle with lethal precision. Twisting and turning, jinking and juking the X-Wings attempted to break the Mark VII's relentless pursuit. Easu's wingman Lt. Keiran Corro, callsign "KC" danced through the crossfire, her piloting skill combined with the starfighter's aggressive design allowed her to close in on enemy pilots with ruthless efficiency. She laced her target with a steady barrage of cannon fire, sending it careening out of control before exploding into hundreds of metal fragments

Bogan I and Bogan II maintained their dominance, utilizing their cloaking devices to remain one step ahead of the X-Wings. The Sadowan starfighters executed daring dogfighting maneuvers, before delivering blistering volleys of energy blasts that sent X-Wings spiraling into the cold embrace of deep space.

As the battle raged on, the X-Wing squadrons struggled to adapt to the unpredictability of their Sadowan adversaries. The Mark VII's exploited the X-Wings weaknesses, their speed and cloaking capabilities left the raiding pilots disoriented and vulnerable.

The flight commanders led the squadrons in a synchronized assault, like a pack of wolves they isolated an individual from its group. Each flight flanked their lead in an echelon attack formation, their combined firepower overwhelming the remaining X-Wing resistance.

In the midst of the dogfight, the number three and number four lead of Bogan II locked onto one of the leaders of one of the raiding X-Wing squadrons. The Mark VII's got within ten meters of the X-Wing before firing. With a calculated burst of energy, the X-Wing disintegrated into debris. The tide of the battle now had turned decisively in favor of Clan Naga Sadow.

The Mark VII's broke off their attack and circled back around regrouping in a VIC formation. The flight lead’s voice echoed through the comms, ever the zealot: "They were dead before they even knew it. Let the galaxy bear witness to our supremacy."

Against the backdrop of stars, the Mark VII's emerged victorious, a visual testament to the might of Clan Naga Sadow. Now with the raiding X-Wings scattered and defeated, the flight commanders led the squadrons back into the inky depths of space to rendezvous with the Perdition. Crimson energy trails faded into the distance, leaving behind a battlefield littered with the wreckage of trespassing raiders.

Well Sadowans, Summit has been pondering over some tough changes to the Clan. GM Muz and I went into some good discussion regarding our best course of action. We both agree that in order to grow we have to evolve. We need to streamline some of our processes to better suit our current needs. Currently these processes affect Summit as well as the Houses. To start off with, it just does not make a whole lot of sense at the moment having a full roster on Summit. Its more advantageous to balance out the troops. So we will be honorably discharging Professor Sanguinius Entar and Adept Malik Sadow from their current positions as Aedile and Battleteam Leader. They have served the Clan admirably and are well deserving of a rest from Summit duty. We can not thank them enough, although I am sure GM Muz and I will find some manner to remedy that.

Now regarding our two Houses, we will be running with just the Quaestor's overseeing House operations. This re-organization will include at least for the time being, tabling our battleteams under each House. Members will be transferred from their current BT’s back to the main House roster. Again this is only temporary, there is just no need to have all these facets of the Clan when we are currently one of the smaller rosters of the Club . Additionally this should help balance out our overall activity percentages. When our numbers are up, we will bump our depth chart back up. Look forward to all this to take place between now and the first of the month while we handle some back office taskers as well. I can't tell you how many times GM Muz and I discussed this, it was one that neither of us wanted to have, I can say that much. This was a tough pill for me personally to swallow, I know the history behind them. However for the time being it is the right one to put in place and keep grinding forward...always.

So enough with the business part of this gig, let's move onto more livelier Sadowy things shall we?

We kicked off the new year with this little diddy, and what an adventure to kick off the new year with! I want to thank our illustrious PCON GM Keibatsu for spearheading that dude. When we started talking about how we were gonna kick the new year off, this was one of the MANY little chestnuts the PCon has stored away in some dark dingy Krathy place of his. So later down the line we will find out what or even if we find something from our namesake’s greatest rival. If you don’t know much about him go here: Ludo Kressh

I hope that you enjoyed the story as well as the mini event. I know one person who certainly enjoyed it, she kicked everyone’s butt and took the title. Everyone please congratulate Adept Ashia Kagan Keibatsu for taking first place in the event!

There’s been some exciting things dropping in the club with regards to member corvettes, crafting and the like. I suggest that you go take a look and maybe even take the Shadow Academy courses that relate to it. But a huge takeaway that a lot of people are going to have is, to misquote a popular shark movie from the seventies “We’re gonna need a bigger -bank account-.”

It’s true. While the access to get these new and awesome toys, they are expensive. Of course, they’re meant for late-or-end game players in our club, but…if you look at our clan roster, we have a lot of elders…just over a third of our clan is at least elder 1. So this is relevant to our interests…or it should be.

Which means that we have some people that are going to be looking at their credit accounts and grumbling. After all, some quick (and probably sloppy) maths and it looks like a salvaged Raider 2 corvette would cost around 700k to build, and that is before you look at upgrades. And without a war, or the cash that you can earn from moving up in ranks, it can feel a little bit out of reach. Even I don’t have 700k laying around right now.

The fact that I am writing about it probably clued you in that I have a plan. And this is a plan that you guys can use to pad your accounts for your very own corvettes, or really whatever tickles your fancy. You see, we have these things called societies in the club. There’s one for taking courses and earning degrees in the Shadow Academy, there’s one for drawing and art things, there’s one for gaming, and there’s THREE for fictional work (Inquisitorius at a high level, and then the RP envoy society, and an ACC one). You know, the fictional stuff that we all like. And sure, there’s a lot of cool items and such that you are granted, to include droids, tools, dossier stuff, and even NPC rankups and extra force points for your character sheet. But relevant to our discussion here is the fact that going from no rank to rank cap (12) in each of those societies will earn you 100k. Which means that if you get to rank cap in all of the currently available societies, you would be sitting on 600,000 credits from societies alone.

I’m looking here at our roster, and nobody has all of the societies capped. Bentre has the big four capped, and while Darkhawk and i are close, most everyone else has a lot of credits still available to get. To that End, I am going to try to get a regular Sadow Gaming day going. Locke, Sang and I have been trying to do some games every Sunday, and it’s been pretty fun. You’re more than welcome to come mix it up with us, and we always have the voice chat going in Discord when we do. Pop on over and say hi, even if you don’t feel like playing at that time. It’d be cool to hear your voice.

Hit up the comments below if a different day works for you, and we’ll see what we can do to get everyone the chance to make some creds. Not a regular gamer, or have issues with the typical games we play? Locke, Sang and I have been playing a slower, turn-based Risk-style game called Warzone on our phones throughout the week, and while it is a slower way to get those clusters, you are still getting them. Plus, it gives us all a chance to hang out and have fun.

I’ll leave this off here and continue in my report so that I don’t take too much of DarkHawk’s time. If you’ve gotten this far, thanks for reading!

btw:
