Introductions

Greetings Imperialists and welcome to the May edition of the House Imperium report! The time has finally come. I have been asked to make the House Report. As such, this month’s edition will be a bit different, and will include a few new sections. We have a lot of good stuff to cover, including some wonderful member achievements. Overall, I think the house did a good job. I”ve particularly enjoyed seeing the varied activities. We aren’t just a “gaming house”. We can write and draw too. Finally, a special introduction. The House has added a new member. Everyone welcome Talon Jade! Let’s dive into it.

House Projects

CSP JA Academy:

One project going on right now is CSP’s own JA Academy. Myself, along with some volunteer teachers, have offered to provide JA training to the clan. We meet in a very ad-hoc fashion. Just find one of us on Telegram or send us an email requesting a lesson. We train anyone who is willing to learn. :)

CSP JA Academy Progress Report:

  • I am happy to report that the list of students has expanded. Since this has matured a bit, I’d like to set up some group sparring as part of the future lessons. The feud is coming up, but I’ll do my best to fit those into everyone’s schedule.

  • As these sessions go on, the hardest thing I’ve found is finding everyone at a good time. As a way to help fix this, I’d like to request that you ask teachers for lessons are early as possible beforehand. Sometimes we don’t know until that day, but it helps out. As a teacher, we don’t want to leave anyone without a lesson.

  • Congratz Reiden Karr and Delak Krennel on their stellar practice sessions.

  • For teachers and students: Try to grab friends from CSP and pull them into the lesson. The more the merrier, and the more CFs up for grabs during the FFA session.

  • Overall, good work and keep it up! Remember to report any training you do without me so that I can track it accordingly.

JA Advice: Losing is the path to victory. The best practice is against someone who can beat you the worst. It forces you to adapt, push yourself, and learn more. Ask questions. Also, DODGE!

CSP JA Academy May Awards and Titles:

  • Most Improved Student: Reiden Karr

  • Most Dogged Student: Reiden Karr

  • Butterfly Title (Yellow): None

  • Graceful Sledgehammer Title (Red): Delak

Clan Feud Preparation

Over the last month, a number of competitions have been released to help prepare our House for the upcoming clan feud. We covered a wide variety of competitions and learned more about what interests to focus on going forward. Expect the JA and Battlefront competitions to stick around. Also, I haven’t given up on graphics. You’ll see ^^.

Looking forward, Is there any competition any of you would like to see but haven’t got the chance to participate in it yet? If so, let the QUA, myself, BTL, and SGT know. We will take a look at it.

Shadow Guard:

Shadow Guard continues to do well on the gaming front, setting a good example for the rest of the House. I look forward to its performance in the upcoming feud. Its members also branched out nicely into the fiction and graphics competitions. Good job! One thing I’d like see moving forward with this group is to have events where most if not all of the team can get together. I essentially want to see this group bind closer together in the gaming realm, but at the same time remain inclusive to the rest of the House. I look forward to working with Delak and Zagro to make this a reality.

You can find their emails below, should you wish to join the team.

Imperial Activity

This was another good month for Imperium. As usual, we had a wonderful gaming participation rate and placed in many competitions. A few highlights.

  • Zagro Fenn achieved the rank of INQ XII. That is a lot of fiction points!

  • Dek Rott wrote 6000 words of fiction. Just wow.

  • Landon Cruise has joined the ranks of Equite 2 and been promoted to Savant. So proud.

  • We have a great competitions submission count. Over the last month, our House has submitted 88 competition entries, and 33 of them have placed. Good Job!

  • Lastly, I want to recognize everybody for your efforts and accomplishments. There were some heavy hitters and some lighter hitters, but as a team we had a lot of contributors and that is great to see! Special thanks to our heavy hitters this last month (Delak Krennel, Zagro Fenn, Landon Cruise)!

For details, please see the Imperium Activity Sheet.

Competition Spotlight

The DJB has a LOT of competitions out there. In particular, the FIST office has a competition out there for almost every game. I could enumerate each and every one of them, but instead let’s focus on a few. For the full list, please look here. Remember to check out all the tabs!

House Imperium Sponsored:

  • Deserted by QUA Qor: Write a fiction about what your character would do if they found themselves deserted in a survival scenario. It has a minimum of 250 words, so pop up your word editor or old-fashioned pencil and paper and give it a go!

  • Where’s Jedi by QUA Qor: A graphics competition that has you drawing your character into a SW canon scene. A cool way to practice your graphics skillz.

  • Star Conflict PvP/PvE by Landon Cruise: A gaming competition for Star Conflict hosted by one of our own! Check it out!

Clan Scholae Palatinae Sponsored:

  • CDW #1 by PCON Cyris Obscura: This is a Character Development Workshop aimed at Aspects. Aspects are part of who your character and helps shape their actions. This competition includes two sub-competitions: Creation of an Aspect and Writing with your Aspect. This a great exercise in flushing out your characters and practicing your writing. This has been extended but don’t wait too long.

Member Spotlight

We do so much more than just the numbers that are tracked on the website. We are a community and I’d like to take this time to show off some awesome things we’ve done as a House that don’t quite fit anywhere else. Thank you for your contributions.

I can’t wait to see next month’s entries. You can send the QUA and AED (that’s me) your submissions for next month’s spotlight anytime before our next report, but please do so at least a few days before.

Conclusion

Another month, more good times. I am always impressed at just how long it takes me to tally the activity. I look forward to my overwhelmed inbox next month and I applaud your efforts. A few things moving forward. One, I encourage everyone to try to include as many fellow clansmen/clanswomen as possible in our exploits. These interconnections will enable us to go super saiyan. I know it can be hard because of time zones but keep at it! Second, a Clan Feud is coming up, so gear up and get ready. For Imperium!

Clan Feedback

Ask Pinky and the Brain!

Jorm asks: Will Pinky strive to expand her dominance to the cold, hard reaches of space if/when Fractured Space is cleared as a DJB gaming platform?

Blade: Perhaps, depends on how crushed my schedule is but I'll look it up on youtube. (Jorm recommends EeZeE, KaiKer or DaseinWasHere)

Xen asks: What is your spirit animal?

Blade: I am feeling Kirby. Cuddly but also very deadly.

Lexi: I did a survey, it told me fox, I would be adorable with a big fluffy tail ^^

Xen asks: How pumped are you for the feud that is coming at some point?

Blade: My lightsaber and pen are ready. I even have several priceless works of stick figure art. XD CNS better run away while they can. Pheromones in CNS's direction while holding a lightsaber behind her back

Lexi: Let loose the chains of the foes loyalty, for it is their woes we will fester into the veins of their attempts. We shall push ourselves to the edge of exhaustion, drag our body and souls through the ordeal and charge blindly into any challenge given, because that's how I roll.

Xen asks: What do you think is csp/imperium's biggest shortcoming is and how do you think it can be addressed?

Blade: In my opinion, it’s the fact that as a group we don’t collaborate enough in bigger groups. This makes things very disjointed and fragmented. The solution is pretty straightforward, but difficult to execute. Get people with different time zones and similar interests together at the same time. I see this taking the form of larger group gaming sessions, run-ons, and ideally team based activities.

Lexi: In my believe it’s the unusual competitions we see, the trivias, puzzles and finding games that we are unfamiliar with. The only real way in training members for this is to accommodate the lack of training in the Other category from time to time, so far we have a wide range of diversely successful members and trivia isn't touched on enough.

First! Such report, so screenshots, very wow.

Looking good!

I honestly find "Other" comp categories to be so niche. I'd game if I had the time to become good at it, so I usually resort to fiction because I practice writing usually as a part of my daily existence. However, when it comes to "Other" stuff it really depends. Trivia would depend on the subject. Same with the flash games. I did the rage comics for participation points in previous comps of sorts but otherwise can't find them to be subjectively funny. Thus I have difficulty with them.

I also really am biding my time for the Feud personally in terms of activity.

Great report anyways!
