Hallo, my lektastic Qel-Drominians!

Holy smokes! SO. MANY. THINGS! Unless you’ve been living under a space rock (wait, don’t we technically live inside a space rock?), you must have noticed the absolute flood of shinies that our Clan Chat has been inundated with. The new XP system has been unveiled and it’s being rolled out in force. This means that no longer will your DJB careers be beholden to the craven whims of an opaque and unknowable MAA, but there are Numbers that will grow as you Do All The Things ™ and when your XP total grows big enough—BAM! Rewards galore!

I for one am happy to see this improvement and hope to see y’all scooping up them rewards, awards, promotions, and what have you. After all, who doesn’t like XP?

On the home front, I’ve been battling away a persistent cold that’s probably not COVID since I can still smell things. On the upside, blackcurrant juice is amazing and you should drink some even if you don’t have a cold. Also, it’s purpl.

House Fiction Update

A colorful collection of cutlery lay spread on deep purple velvet, their honed blades glinting in the artificial light of overhead illum-strips. A constellation of crosses lay beside them, equally resplendent against a sea of deep ultramarine. With great sacrifice and effort came just rewards and as she plucked the first of the multitude of awards from the table, Tali Sroka let her gaze rest upon the rows of faces she’d grown to know and trust. They had earned this, after all they’d been through.

“For exceptional bravery in defence of our homeworldt, I am pleasedt to awardt you vith this Grandt Cross,” Tali smiled as she pinned the gleaming bronzium emblem to the Barabel’s lapel. “The Consul vishedt to addt: Goodt shooting, uh, schutta.” She added with a hint of a blush at Qyreia’s choice of expletive.

“Coming from her, it is a high honor,” Druzk hissed with a bow.

“Privateer Mex?” Tali called out the next recipient.

The Verpine buzzed with surprise but approached, casting awkward glances over their shoulder.

“The Master at Arms sends his regards,” Tali smirked as she handed them an intricately scribed cross. She thought better of trying to pin it on Mex’s carapace.

“Gratitude,” the young Verpine buzzed excitedly, clasping the shiny in their hands and retreating swiftly to their perch.

“Eilen Ru’tyari,” the Twi’lek called out next, plucking a medal off the supple velvet. “I vas vorriedt that ve hadt lost you. But I am pleasedt that you returnedt. Atyiru sends her best.”

The lanky Bothan flushed under her fur, awkwardly shuffling while her tail swished to and fro. “I—will have to tell you the full story some day. Maybe. It’s a long one.”

“Looking forwardt to hearing it,” Tali replied with a smile.

A new dawn is breaking in DJB history, and I’m glad you’re all part of it! The XP system is going to make for fairer and hopefully speedier promotions. That means that when you majestic people Do The Things we will get you more shinies and points to spend on new Skillz and Feats on your character sheets!
