Odan-Urr Rollmaster Report #1

Introduction

Well, here we are again. I’m Corvus Corax, formerly Seridan Brehevik, and I’ve been around for awhile. I’ve done a few odd jobs about the place, placed in some competitions, and chatted with some awesome people (that’s you guys, btw). Oh, and I’m now the Rollmaster.

Okay, that’s way too vague. I’ve been in the DB for over two years now, and I’ve been BTL of the Disciples of Baas, and then Aedile of Satele Shan, last year. Most recently, I was BTL of the new BT Zirael. When Xantros stepped down due to real-life time contraints, I was ‘promoted’ up to Rollmaster. Part of the Summit’s reasoning behind this was Zirael’s fairly unique role. It’s a battle-team of Journeyman, and as BTL I was the first person to introduce and welcome them into the Brotherhood, guiding them and helping them through the early ranks and whatnot. I also served as Xantros’ deputy, and helped him with some of the paperwork. As such, we’d worked close enough that I was already familiar with a fair few of Xantros’ duties, and had helped him with them in the past. I just want to thank Xantros for all the work he’s put in over the last 9 months - he’s done a hell of a lot behind the scenes, and he’s more than deserved his Steel Cross. Thanks mate!

I know I’ve only been in the position barely a week, but there hasn’t been a RM report in over a month, so I figured why not.

Currently, Clan Odan-Urr consists of 57 members. During August, 30 members had measurable activity, giving us an activity ratio of 52.6%. Former and current members of the Clan have earned:

Junazee has done fantastically, getting 5 Crescents, 384 CoFs, 36 CoEs and completing 2 SA courses! Nice one :D

Member of the month: Edgar Drachen

Competitions

As previously mentioned, I’m organising regular competitions for the bored members out there… For this month, I’ve organised 3 competitions - a Fiction, a Graphic, and a puzzle. I’m trying something new for the Fiction and Graphics comps, to gauge interest. Both have a simplistic prompt, and look to the member to come up with a cohesive storyline (for the fiction) or an appropriate stimulus (for the graphic). I call them Open-ended, because that’s what they are :P The puzzle is still normal, though.

Projects

Leadership Guide

One of Xantros’ projects was the Leadership Guide, which he was about 60-70% finished when he stepped down. Xantros will continue to work with his team on the Guide, and he hopes to complete it by the end of September.

I do have more projects in mind, and will start them in due course, but at the moment, they are in their infacy, and so it’s not worth documenting them just yet, in case they turn out crap. :P

Master-Student Program

One of the common RM jobs is maintaining the Master-Student Program. If you would like to be a Master, or a Student, then please complete this form.

Final Thoughts

I’m still settling into the role of RM, but I’ve made some progress and hope to continue moving forward. Here’s to the future!

You can drink them by the flagon,

But the only brew for the brave and true...

Nice report!

Well said. Thanks Xantros for all your work, and thanks Corvus for stepping up when we needed you.

Nice work, boss! And yes, thanks to both you and Xantros for all your work!
