Welcome, everyone, to my final Dread Lord report. Yes, you indeed read that correctly. Let's make this last report a good one.

Exit Ronovi

As of today, I have served as your Consul for over a year and a half and on your clan summit for almost three years. It has been an absolute pleasure to lead Plagueis, and truth be told, I was hoping to at least push through the latest vendetta with y'all. However, a number of factors have led me to step down.

Many of you probably already know that I am a full time high school English teacher currently remote teaching in the middle of a pandemic. I also happen to run an online theater company, and most recently, I have been dabbling in cosplay and Dungeons & Dragons. My writing, roleplaying, and storytelling in the Brotherhood has paid off in tremendous dividends in that this regard, but it does mean that I am, both emotionally and creatively, stretched very thin. As a result, being Dread Lord has felt more like a burden than a role I eagerly and enthusiastically take on, and that is not fair to the clan or to the rest of the club.

So I made a decision. I will continue to be active as a regular member, mentor, and advisor. I have IC plans for Ronovi, and I might even introduce a new character. I will also remain as Consul until Evant, Bubba, and I determine that there is a suitable successor to the position. After that, however, I'd like to return to more personal development, writing, projects, and competitions.

It's not goodbye. It's, "Your turn."

But let's get to the good stuff.

Feud: Initial Numbers

As we wait for the results of the feud with Odan-Urr to roll out, Liandry/Kelly has been kind enough to give me some initial numbers regarding our clan's participation. Let's see 'em.

From the Wrath herself:

"So in total we got 92/540(current roster size-2 multiplied by 20 comps) which is 17.04% of all possible submissions. That breaks down to 45/243 comps or 18.5% of phase 1 comps 17/81 or 20% of Event Long comps and 29/216 or 13% of Phase 2 comps."

In total, 13 out of 29 Plagueians participated in the feud, which is just shy of 45% of the roster. Not bad in terms of members showing up, though I think we have also liked to see said members partake in more of the competitions. Remember, especially as we move to future vendettas, that every submission and bin counts, hence why we try to do all the bins during major events.

So who can claim the coveted artifact? We shall see!

Member Shout-Outs

Taranae's Okay!

I am also happy to announce that Taranae Rhode, our Hand of Dread, has been steadily recovering from a scary COVID-19 episode. She is off the ventilator and doing her best to take care of herself. We are so thrilled to see her thrive, and we're grateful to still have her on our summit.

Khryso Steps Up

Meanwhile, I want to give a hearty thank you to our Tyranus Aedile, Khryso Mallus, for becoming de facto Quaestor during Tara's recovery. He has been working on not just on the feud, but also on plans for Fort Dooku. Stay tuned!

Welcome Back, Slags!

Having just stepped down as Herald, our very own Selika Roh di Plagia, whom I lovingly call Slags, is back in Plagueis! Good to have you in our ranks again, dude, and goodness - we have an Elder?! Nice!

Superb, Sinya!

Sinya, you awesome individual! Nice work on 7th place overall in the SARLACC competition! You crushed it!

Qormus Doesn't Quit!

Finally, we gotta give some mad kudos to Qormus Aquila, who has decided to get super active again and has been crushing it. Not only has he been acing SA exams, but he has also been running his own competitions! Way to go, friend!

#askthedreadlord

Man...is this really my last Ask the Dread Lord? All right, let's make it count!

Erinyes asks:

What's Ronnie going to do with all her (IC) newfound free time?

Go after Laren Uscot and the Phantom Assembly. Maaaaaaay not go exactly go according to plan. Shhhh...spoilers!

Appius asks:

What has been your biggest high and lowest low as Consul? What advice would you like to pass on to your successor?

My high absolutely was last summer, when we crushed it participation-wise in the GJW and then ran the latest Pro Bowl. It was exhausting, but a lot of fun.

I think my lowest just has to be recently, when I feel like I haven't done my best in the position. I hate being negligent in any role, so it definitely helped with my decision to resign.

Kelly asks:

With Ronovi going off on an adventure of her own, does this mean we may see a new character introduced as part of Plagueis, or is this more of a farewell?

Oh, it's definitely not farewell for Ronovi. You will see her again. However, in terms of the upcoming vendetta, I'm not exactly sure what to do character-wise. I'm still brainstorming.

How are you doing? It's always "What is Ronovi doing, never how is Ronovi doing"

I'm okay! Tired, but content with a lot of things happening in my life. It's been rough during the pandemic, but I've made some amazing friends, tried new things, and learned a lot.

Aleister asks:

will you stepping down from leading, is there any chance of tempting you to come join Opress?

I have to think about it. Again, depends on the alt I create.

when's the retirement party, and how drunk are we going to get?

Whenever y'all plan it, and very.

Tahiri asks:

Gotta ask, and probably going to answer my question, Laren is truly f#&ed, isn't he?*

Nooooot exactly. Stay tuned.

Is Ronnie looking forward to doing any sort her-time in the down time while she's out looking for Laren?

I mean, lots of drinking and playing cards. But really, she's on a mission. She just may not come back the way you think she does.

Tasha asks:

Do you need more Whyren's Reserve after writing this report?

Nah. I've got tea. Sushi sounds nice, though.

Marcus asks:

are you glad you did it?

Yeah. I am. I'm really glad.

So Long, and Thanks for all the Fish

It's been fun, everyone. I have great confidence in the clan and its future leaders. Y'all are in good hands.

Remember to be compassionate, do what's right, and have a ball.

Ronnie out.

Thanks for being our CON, Ronnie!

CON is a difficult job to do well. Thank you for your hard work and enjoy your retirement

Speaking as a fellow CON, I think it takes a lot of heart to be willing to step aside and let someone else take the reins for the good of the Clan. Thanks for all your hard work, and I look forward to seeing Dread Pirate Ronnie's next adventure.
