Who’s this Darkblade guy?

School started again for me last week, and as such will actually try to pay attention and graduate this year, unlike last year. My activity will dwindle a tad bit, but not so much as that it will hinder my capabilities of leading this glorious Battle Team to everlasting fame in the wonderful halls of Naga Sadow!

Jeric promoted to Battleteam Sergeant

Hey all! I’ll keep this brief since most of you remember me. Jeric Cyrin, former BTL/founder of Shadow’s Bane. Stepped down for RL issues (work was way too busy this summer). I’m still doing a lot of “call-in” work and overtime but I always have my phone so if you hit me up with an email or on telegram I’m guaranteed to get back to you within 24 hours.

The reason I have been placed as BT-SGT was merely as an advisor roll in my mind. Darkblade has been doing a great job leading this team after my apprentice had to step down. However, he came to me because he wanted to lead the BT into the future (fictionally and physically) and initially had some questions for me regarding my original intent for Shadow’s Bane. After some smalltalk and brainstorming I began helping him revise and update the wiki page which should be live very soon. In any event I am always here to help anyone out that needs it or is looking for advice!

Awakenings!

Awakenings has ended and although participation was (once again) lacking from the BT as a whole, Sebz, Jeric and myself did have an amazing fun time with the Run-On and between the three of us wrote an impressive 7.096 words. Team Marcus won, showing that even the teams with (ex) Grand Masters and many Elders, doesn't necessarily mean they win. Congratz to the winning team!

Sang, our esteemed Quaestor won the Run-On which was a delightful surprise! Light-Siders ain't too shabby after all. Hats off!

Upcoming Plans

In my last report I hinted at an activity for us during the month of September. Sadly, due to lack of interest (only 2 people responded, of which 1 person said they “might” make time for it) I have postponed it until after the GJW. Looking towards that for the future, I hope to have a more healthy and active team with a few new members. Tasha, Jeric, Armad and myself have some plans for a joint BT fiction, and we hope to be able to present something that tickles everyone's needs.

Until then, Jeric and myself will be working on continuing fleshing out the Battle Team wiki, hopefully adding a little every month to give us some more background. This is a long and tedious process, but we hope in the end once it's finished everyone in Shadow’s Bane can find something they relate to.

Final Words

With the disappointing overall activity from Shadow’s Bane during Awakenings (you know who you are), I hope that these next few weeks will give you time to find your drive and hopefully make an astonishing comeback that will leave me and Jeric reeling in the next Clan event Ashes Fall planned from the 9th of October until the 30th.
