The Sword's Sheath - the Itanna Belt beyond Yridia IX - Personal Quarters of Farrin Xies

Farrin Xies sighed, the exhaustion he felt to his core playing across his face as he stared at the datapad in front of him. Setting it down on the simple wooden desk, he leaned back in his desk chair and rubbed his eyes. Though you couldn't tell based on the dim lighting outside the office in the hallway connected to the base's library, it was late into the night to the Krath's internal clock and his body was practically screaming for sleep. Rest would have to wait, however, as his Quaestor had insisted on an update on the Tarentum Journeymen in training under the new Rollmaster.

And, truthfully, the Journeymen under Farrin's command were a promising lot - just yesterday, for instance, Farrin's own Student, Shujiru Raunien, had shown himself ready to take the next steps in his training and earned the next rank in his journey toward Knighthood. The memory of awarding Shujiru the robes denoting his new status as a Protector rather than a mere Acolyte caused a small, satisfied smile to spread across the Rollmaster's lips. Farrin knew that Scion Altera, the Quaestor of House Tarentum, would also take pleasure in the success that the House's newest members were seeing, and it was that thought that provided a brief respite for the fatigued Dark Jedi Knight and allowed him to grab hold of his datapad again to continue the blasted status report.

Tarentum will prosper once again, the Krath thought, And I hope that I can play a small part in getting it there.

Welcome!

Greetings Tarenti, that motion you're feeling isn't because Hades is drunk behind the helm of the MK - nope, it's that Tarentum Momentum! It's a truly exciting time to be a part of this hard-working House Summit, and I hope that all of you have been, are, and continue to be proud of the direction that our House is heading in. We've got some really exciting fresh blood that are bringing in a willingness to see us back to greatness where we belong, and I can tell that incredible things are in store for us if we continue to work hard as we have been.

House News

• I want to start off my report by thanking, from the bottom of my heart, the awesome guys over at Arcona and Taldryan. Wally, Legorii, and Howie were asked to assist me in learning the ropes as your Rollmaster. They could have just phoned it in - a simple email or two, and they've met their obligation. After all, what do they owe us? That's not how those guys work though. All of them have reached out to us and really opened up to how they do things, what's worked and not worked in the running of their Clans, and really put themselves out there for me and the others on the House Summit to reach out to for help. These guys get that this club is really only strong if we're all strong, and though I've thanked them all privately I wanted to take a second to thank them publicly as well. I'm still finding my footing as your RM, but I want you all to know that our friends in Arc and Tal are going to help me get there.
• We've got competitions! Our beloved Quaestor scion is running a comp that's House-wide titled Something About Raiju - this is a fun one because not only can you get shinies for participation (just like any other competition), but first place will also become House canon and be used to advance the storyline we're writing! Get to it before the deadline, 9/24. Not to be outdone, our Aedile Hades also has an interesting competition running called Everybody Hates Chiss; you can probably figure that one out. It's running DJB-wide, so enter and don't let those non-Tarenti show you up - enter before it's over on 9/22! JK BTL Starrett is running a competition about Star Wars: Galaxies (I miss that game) titled, appropriately enough, Why I miss or don't miss Star Wars Galaxies!! that ends on 9/30. Finally, I've got a competition that starts in just a few hours (9/17) and will run DJB-wide until 9/30 entitled You Know What Really Grinds My Gears?. Not only can you earn Crescents for competing in this competition, but my understanding from the Office of the VOICE is that you can earn Clusters of Ice too!

Member Spotlight

Rial, who I spotlighted last month in my report, has continued to really go above and beyond to showcase his awesomeness, so I was tempted to spotlight him again. But, I figured I should spread the love a little bit, and I've got a great person to really point out this report. SBM Jaredi Edius (formerly Lightie Kah Manet) transferred into our House just a few days ago but has already made a real positive impression on the entire House Summit as well as many others.

His very first response to me after I welcomed him into the House is really indicative of the kind of person he's already shown himself to be. Rather than make it all about him, rather than talk about what he's done in the past - and, by the way, he was by all reports a kickass RM while in HOU, so he really could brag about what he's done - he asked me to find him a student. Literally the first words out of his mouth (well, email) were already asking to help us. Every conversation I've had with him since has been the exact same, as his attitude is clearly "What can I do to help Tar?" He's going to be a huge asset to us as we push forward with that Tarentum Momentum, and he needs to know how much he's already appreciated in his new home here.

Recruitment

I wrote last month that we all, the entire House, need to step it as far as recruitment goes, and I'm no different. scion has charged the Rollmaster with spearheading a recruitment effort to begin to increase our numbers, and I haven't done the best of jobs at that. I could make excuses based on my insane RL the past couple of weeks, but the fact of the matter remains I was given a task and I haven't been doing what I need to do. I promise you all I will do better this month, as you all deserve and expect of me.

However, just because I'm the one supposed to be heading up our push for more members doesn't mean I'm the only one! We all have friends that are nerds like us (let's face it, we're nerds - and there's nothing wrong with that). Reach out to them, tell them about this awesome club for guys and gals that like Star Wars that have a little bit extra free time online. If we all make an effort to reach out, we'll have so many new members I'll be drowning in work as RM keeping up with them (which I'm completely okay with!).
