Item description: A hardpoint on this vessel has been fitted with guided crystal warhead launchers. The crystal munitions are 28 cm in length and when in a dormant state are red in color, but when loaded into the launcher, are energized and produce a pulsing red glow. These guided projectiles are fired at such a high velocity that they ignore a ship's shielding and can pierce a standard hull. They explode with a violent wave of physical and electrical energy capable of shredding armor plating and overloading electrical systems.

Item Prototype Description: The Crystal Diffraction Gun is an elongated but slender blaster pistol with a limited capacity. It is constructed with an adjustable Ascedant Crystal matrix that either focuses or diffracts the enhanced plasma beam. In its focused configuration, all of the enhanced crystal energy is projected in a tight beam with enough power to punch through even light vehicle armor. In the diffracture mode, the beam is dispersed into a scattergun pattern with each individual bolt equivalent to a blaster pistol. The weapon offers excellent utility in dealing with either heavily armored foes or groups of light infantry. Switching between the modes requires a quick physical adjustment of the crystal matrix.
