Khryso Mallus had been dispatched to the planet's surface in order to locate and neutralize one of many pirate scouting parties that had been spotted. While their exact location was unknown, he only had 15 hours to complete the mission. One he arrived on the planet, however, he realized a grave mistake had been made. These were not his supplies.

Where a comm-link, weapons, and supplies should have been there was instead what looked like a random assortment of junk. Fortunately, they had still managed to stick a lightsaber into the pack, so he wouldn't be completely unarmed. Unfortunately, thumbing the activation switch yielded no results. Releasing a restrained sigh of exasperation, Khryso resigned himself to the situation at hand and dumped out the contents of his pack to inspect exactly what hand he had been dealt. Beside the dead lightsaber, he also found a glow-rod, a holoprojector, a stretch of power cable, a plush toy, a droid's disembodied arm, and a set of unappetizing ration bars. If this was really all he had to work with, he would have to put some serious thought into how to tackle his mission.

Before he set out, Khryso drew himself inward and closed his eyes, reaching out into the Force. The forest around him was buzzing with life, which made it a bit difficult to be precise. After a few minutes, he gave up and opened his eyes. For now, he would have to rely on his other senses to track down the pirates. He began moving through the forest, recalling the map he had been shown earlier and doing his best to follow it.

Every hundred or so meters, Khryso would pause to use the droid arm to leave a mark on a tree. It slowed his progress, but he wanted to make sure he knew his way back. Hours passed and darkness began to descend over the jungle. Khryso decided he needed to get a better idea of where he was going. Deciding to climb a nearby tree, Khryso used the power cable as a guide rope, although he was careful never to put his full weight on it. He carefully made his way to the jungle canopy.

Due to the lack of light, he couldn't make out many details, but he was hoping that the pirate scouting party had stopped for the night and perhaps set up some sort of campsite. Which, should mean they would have built a fire or set up some sort of light source. His hunch paid off when he spotted a small light a few hundred meters to the west. Khryso carefully descended to the ground.

He made it to the campsite in good time, carefully observing his targets from the darkened treeline. Three pirates around a fire. They had a few bags of supplies scattered around them and two speeder bikes a bit further away. They all seemed a bit on edge, but also tired. Khryso paused for a moment to consider his plan of action.

After a few minutes, he had come up with something. All he really needed was to get his hands on one of the blasters each of the pirates had hanging on their hips. He wasn't sure how hostile they would be, so he didn't want to risk approaching them directly. Instead, he pulled out the plush animal and the holoprojector from his pack. He took the holoprojector and used some mud from the forest floor to stick it to the toy. Finally, he took the cable and made a loose snare out of it. Reaching out with the Force, he carefully slid the snare into position just inside the treeline, brushing some leaves and grass over it.

His preparations complete, Khryso hid in the underbrush, reaching out a hand to direct the toy to move as if it were alive. In the light, it probably wouldn't have fooled anyone, but with the cover of darkness, it might work. He reached out with the Force and activated the holoprojector. He hesitated a moment when he saw the images pop to life above the device, not realizing that they would be quite so...unprofessional. He wouldn't turn back now, though. He wanted to see this through.

Walking the toy out to the edge of the treeline, he had it mill about until one of the pirates took notice of it, pointing it out to his comrades. They looked at it, clearly a bit confused, until one of the three took it upon himself to go investigate, his hand drifting down near his holstered blaster as he approached the bait. Khryso waited until he drew close before having the toy act as if startled and flee into the woods, dropping the holoprojector near the snare.

As the man walked over to the holoprojector and picked it up, curious, Khryso carefully used the Force to ensure the snare was in place around his ankle. Pausing for a moment to draw a breath as the confused pirate gawked at the images, Khryso flooded the Force into him to ensure that he had enough strength for the next part. Gripping the other end of the cable tightly, he yanked the snare, causing it to tighten around the man's ankle and rip it out from under him, sending the pirate tumbling to the ground. Khryso anchored himself and yanked again, dragging him into the treeline and out of the view of his companions, who were already jumping to their feet.

Khryso flung out the lightsaber hilt, knocking the man's hand aside as he drew his blaster before jumping on top of him. He was already starting to feel the effects of exertion due to how much he had been relying on the Force so far, but thankfully, the bulk of it was over. He now just had to wrest enough control of the blaster from the pirate to shoot him dead before his friends got here. The struggle was quick and the pirate was still very clearly confused, but Khryso managed to succeed, turning the blaster into his chest and firing off a few quick shots, killing the pirate.

Quickly retreating away from the scene of the crime, Khryso managed to barely disappear into the darkness before the other two pirates were at the treeline, searching for their now dead friend. He only had a few moments while they were distracted to finish things off. He moved quickly through the underbrush before quickly dashing out into the small clearing, straight for the speeder bikes.

It sounded like the pirates had finally located their companion and realized he was dead, so their attention had turned to finding the culprit. Thankfully, by the time they thought to turn their attention back to their campsite, Khryso had already fired up one of the swoops and was jamming the accelerator into an on position with the disembodied droid arm as he aimed it straight for them. The bike shot across the clearing and into the underbrush, quickly colliding with a tree and exploding into fire and shrapnel.

The two pirates had both managed to dive out of the way, but they weren't completely unscathed. The distraction was all Khryso needed, however, to scoop up the supply packs they had left near the fire. Before they had a chance to regroup and recollect their senses, he dashed back into the treeline to hide in the darkness, pausing for a moment to catch his breath. He could hear the two yelling as they tried to figure out what to do about the whole situation, angrily storming back into the clearing, their blasters drawn and swinging around wildly to find something to shoot.

One of them soon made for the remaining bike, so Khryso carefully drew a bead on it and unleashed a stream of blaster fire. Both pirates immediately swung towards the source of the shots and began firing, but a few of Khryso's blaster bolts managed to hit true and caused the bike to explode in the face of the pirate who'd been about to mount it, incapacitating him. Khryso quickly rolled behind cover to avoid getting shot.

Pulling the glow rod out, he threw it to his left and rolled to his right. As the pirate's eyes snapped for a moment to the glow rod, his blaster also turned. Khryso took the opportunity to plant a few blaster bolts in his chest. Once the pirate fell to the ground, Khryso sighed, pausing to take several breaths. It was harder than it should have been, but that's a mission complete. Once he had gathered himself, Khryso inspected the site, glad to see the pirate who had been blown back by the swoop was still alive. He tied him up with the cable and took a few minutes to rest before beginning the arduous task of dragging the unconscious man back to the pickup site.

Hilgrif odd mission

Hilgrif reread his orders on the small ship holopad. He was to take out a small pirate scout camp with the equipment provided, and he also had to leave all his equipment on the ship, as instructed in the orders. He was informed he would be picked up in a few hours.

Hilgrif watched the small four-person ship as it departed, then turned his gaze to the old, grey box of supplies. Hilgrif was shocked to see what was in the old box. He mostly saw all junk. The only good thing in the box was a new, still-loaded B2-HA arm and ration bars of jogan flavor. Hilgrif hoped he would not need the ration bars on this trip. Hilgrif just left all the other junk - including a non-functional lightsaber hilt, a plush porg, a glow rod, a glitchy holoprojector that looked to be loaded with questionable images, and five meters of power cable - in the box. Taking the the arm out of the box, Hilgrif did a quick retrofit to make it shoot its rockets without the rest of the droid. It had lost its lock on feature, but could still shoot in a somewhat straight line. Hilgrif then took the improvised rocket launcher and the rations and headed to the pirate camp.

As the small camp came into the view of the Dark Jedi Knight, it looked as though it had three people in camp. Two were sitting around the camp stove, and the other was doing some scrapping on some droid parts. Hilgrif did a quick scan of the camp to see if anything looked explosive and saw an ammo storage location near the pirate scrapping the droid. He shot the rocket at it and used the Force to guide the rocket into the target. Hilgrif watched to see if anyone was still alive. Seeing no movement, he reached out with the Force to see if he could sense any life. Sensing nothing, Hilgrif walked into the camp and began looking for anything that might still be of use.

Hilgrif found a few holo devices and a complete set of parts to make a B2 super droid. Hilgrif decided he would build and convert this B2 super battle droid to the Hive. He found a slightly damaged hoversled and fixed it with some other parts he found in the now destroyed camp. Hilgrif then loaded the sled with droid parts and the holo devices and went back to the ship pick-up location. While waiting there for the ship, he used his Force sense to keep a lookout.

After the ship landed, Hilgrif picked up a com device and contacted the Hive.

“Find out who gave me this stupid mission and beware any mission from this person, as he seems to risk our lives for his entertainment,” Hilgrif said in slightly angry voice. Then, in a more peaceful tone, added, “Also - prepare my workshop. I found a new member of the hive.”

He then sat down and waited for the ship to leave.

Hilgrif using the scanner on the planet and saw the mountain and the forest none of these seem of use then he saw it a droid factory made in the old ways of the CIS hilgrif took many scans of this object to help understand the wounder of it and see if he could get any blueprints of the droids of the wonderful tech marvel that was still running. Hilgrif then made plans to take a closer look at this amazing find

The transport shook a little as it entered atmosphere, wobbling as the transition from void to air rocked across its fuselage. A few words flew between the pilots, faces obscured by their helmets, reflecting the myriad sensors and gauges that poured across their eyes.

Thick clouds, invited them toward them, swept across their view by torrents of wind, the occasional pocket swirling open like windows to the green below. The ship banked, pilots recalculating their landing path. The Lambda class dipped lower yet, a wing tracing lines in the clouds before a wave of vapor washed over them, bathing their view in bright fog.

And then the world opened up below them.

Wild and unkempt, the forest snarled at the landing zone in the distance, pale flickering lights marking their way past verdant woods that seemed to stretch further than they could see. The Force sang to them all now, hushed tones and conspiratorial accents retelling the tales of love, of life, of hunger, of loss. There was a look exchanged between them all, half nods and a shine behind their eyes.

No words.

Words would only complicate the feeling.

They all felt it.

This is shortly after Feanor's step-mother delivered him a recording from his now deceased mother. I had originally written this part in his backstory fiction, so I went and rewrote it from a more in-depth angle while using the same dialogue. Note: he has had training in the Force. In the backstory, his father had found him a mentor to train him since he first discovered he could use his abilities.

Kadrol soared over the forests of Elaya in his Aurore-Class Freighter, piloted by his droid. The knight peered out the cockpit of the ship, his destination an outline on the horizon was fast approaching. “The trees are simply beautiful this time of year, aren’t they BB?” Kadrol asked his small, spherical droid.

The droid whistled in agreement. “Land us in that clearing. We must remain unseen.” The maurader instructed his companion. The Astromech steered the ship to the right, bringing it down in a small clearing near the edge of the city. Turning to go to the storage area on the ship and mount his BARC Speeder, Kadrol called out to his droid. “If I’m not back in eight hours, head back to Caelestis and get the empress to send help.”

The BB unit beeped in confirmation. With that, Kadrol checked his datapad to double check the location of his target, mounted the speeder, and headed off to the city.

It was approaching four in the afternoon when the Pantoran reached his destination: a tower on the outskirts of downtown Corocova, the Capital of the Democratic Republic of Elaya. The daughter of one of the Elayan elite had been found out to be Force-sensitive and was locked in a tower by her father in order to keep her powers a secret. The pantoran pulled his speeder to the side of the road and parked it. The building she was in was a large apartment building, and a new one at that. He figured that the girl would probably be in the penthouse; the natural choice for a member of the Elayan elite. Kadrol deduced that the baron more than likely still cared for his daughter, and would give her the best he could afford.

He walked into the lobby. A quick scan revealed that there were no guards on the first floor. He walked to the turbolift, and pushed the button to go up. A minute later, the doors opened, and Kadrol got in, pressing button for the top floor. Reaching his destination, the doors swung open directly into the penthouse. Two armed guards turned around to apprehend the knight. However, Kadrol took out his shock prod and stunned the guards before they hand a chance to make a move. He could hear water running in what he assumed to be the bathroom upstairs.

The young man was in no hurry to liberate the girl, and decided it would be best to wait for her to finish. Nevertheless, he wanted to make sure she didn’t figure out what was going on before he was close enough to stop her from doing anything to jeopardize the operation. Kadrol followed the sound of the water and found his way to the second story of the penthouse. Across the hall from the bathroom was a bench, which Kadrol thought would make a good place to wait. Kadrol waited for what seemed like an eternity before the door opened, and the woman exited.

Upon seeing the young man, she let out a shriek. She grasped the towel wrapped around her body tighter. “Who the hell are you?” She questioned. The girl was not what Kadrol had imagined her to be. She was younger than he expected, probably only a couple years older than himself. She had fair skin, beautiful wavy brown hair, and dazzling green eyes.

“My name is Kadrol Hauen. I’ve come to get you out of here. That’s what you want, isn’t it?” Kadrol said, getting right to the point.

“What makes you think I can’t leave any time I want?” She asked.

Kadrol looked into her eyes intently for a while. Because I’m like you. I know these things. He thought.

“Well then, Kadrol. Can you let me get dressed at least?”

“I can’t think of a reason not to,” The Palatinaean answered truthfully. As the human turned to go to her room, he added “pack a bag of extra clothes as well.”

Kadrol could sense that she wanted to go with him; that she was upset and felt like her father had betrayed her.

Ten minutes later, she came out, fully dressed and carrying a duffel bag at her side.

“Alright, madam. Let’s get going.” Kadrol said, gesturing to the lift. The girl complied. “I’m Abby, by the way.” She said, running her hand across his body as she walked past him. To Kadrol’s surprise, or perhaps his dismay, they made it to the speeder unstopped. The pantoran paused for a minute. He hadn’t planned this far. After a minute of self-deliberation, he decided to strap the bag to the back of the speeder. The craft only had one seat, so Abby was going to have to sit on his lap. He told this to the human, who nodded in agreement. With Abby on his lap, Kadrol pushed the throttle forward and sped off back to his ship. Upon his return to the freighter, BB-51 opened the bay door for Kadrol to park the speeder inside.

“You know, I would’ve thought this would’ve been harder.” Kadrol said. “Can I at least know what you’re going to do to me?” The Elayan asked. After initiating the autopilot, Kadrol went back to the rear of the ship and answered her. “Well, We’ll be going to Caelestis City, where we will train you to use your powers. From there, you’ll become one of us.” He kissed her on the cheek. “Sweetheart, I promise you’ll be well taken care of. I promise you that.”

With that, the knight returned to the pilot’s seat and steered the ship toward Seraph’s moon. Soon, the Lady would be fighting alongside Scholae Forces against the very nation from which she hailed.

“Hello, Tu’Quan.” The crimson skinned Togruta looked up as the tall Kel-dor entered.
“Hey, Tahiri. How are you settling in to your new office?” TuQ asked.
“I’m settling in pretty well,” Tahiri offered TuQ a chair, quickly clearing a box from it.
“Oh good, I’m glad. Have you held a position like this before?” TuQ sat down in the offered chair, tipping back the brim of his big hat to watch the young Togruta.
“Yes, actually.” Tahiri replied with a bit of sadness in her voice.
“Oh? Where… Oh, back in Tarentum, huh?” The Kel-dor sat up straighter, a worried tone to his voice.
“Yeah. I was Aedile of House Mortis. I got the position right before the war, and…” Tahiri paused for a moment.
“Are you alright, Tahiri?” TuQ asked, concern ebbing from him.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Tahiri flashed him a quick smile. “I was at Castle Tarentum when the Collective attacked it.”
“Oh, I’m so sorry. I heard about the destruction.” TuQ tilted his head back a bit.
“It okay, I’m here now.” Tahiri replied quickly. “But…” “But what?” TuQ’uan asked curiously. “Well, I’ve always tried to be truthful and honest with my superior’s and friends…” Tahiri paused and slowly sat down behind her desk.
“That’s always a good way to stay in good grace with people, especially people you know.”TuQ leaned forward. “But I’m guessing here, there’s something else. Something, or somebody bothering you, Tahiri?”
“What? Oh no, no ones bothering me.” Tahiri replied quickly. “No, it's just, well… Since I want to be honest with you TuQ’uan, I’m a bit nervous about things.”
“Oh? How so?” TuQ asked gently.
“Well, I only had the position of Aedile in Tarentum for a short time, I feel like there was so much I didn’t learn.” Tahiri’s face fell in into her hands. “Even though I’ve been here only a few months, and then getting this position again so soon. I can’t help but feel a bit out of place still.”
“Ah, Tahiri, you’ve got nothing to worry about,” replied TuQ, as he stood up and moved around the desk. “You have me, and rest of the council. We’ll take care of you, and teach you everything you need to know.” “Thank you TuQ’uan. That makes me feel better.” Tahiri flashed him a genuine smile, as she stood and hugged the tall Kel-dor.

Alara knocked on her sister’s bedroom door. “Shadow, wake up.” “What’s going on? Why are you waking me up so late?” A very tired female echoed behind the door. “It’s important. Quick. Let me in.” Alara pushed. Shadow opened the door, “What’s going on?” Alara barged in and closed the door behind her. “I have to run.” “What?” “Yes. I’m leaving Scholae Palatinae. I have to.” The Rollmaster retorted. “Why? What’s going on? Surely we can-“ “No. We can’t fix things. Not this time. Mune and Elincia want me dead. I have to go. If it weren’t for Jaelle I’d fight back, but I can’t risk putting her in danger. Surely you understand.” Alara looked towards her nephews’ bedroom door. “No, Alara. I can take Jaelle. Or Gregryck can. There is no need for you to go. Not now… Your nephews need you.” Shadow shook her head. “I need you.” “Don’t do this to me, Shadow!” Alara’s voice raised higher than a whisper. “You know I’d stay if I could, especially due to circumstances. But I don’t see a way out of this. I can’t rise against the Empress by myself, and even if you helped me it would put your Aedile role in danger. I can’t risk making you lose everything.” “This isn’t right.” Shadow growled, “We need to stick together. That’s something we have never been able to do. Why is that?” The older sister couldn’t tell whether Shadow was angry or wounded. “Shadow. We will be together again someday. I promise.” “You can’t do this to me. Not again.” Shadow raised her voice. “Don’t scare the children!” Alara scowled. “So now you’re concerned about children’s needs? You weren’t too concerned when you killed mother and father and left me as an orphan.” “Shadow, don’t do this,” the Seer warned. “I may have had a choice then, but I do not have a choice now.” “You’re leaving me and the twins behind when we have nothing left! Absolutely nothing!” “You have your reputation here, you have your freedom. I do not, Shadow. It’s been taken away from me. I have to run. Jae’lle needs me to. As does my future.” She spoke with an oddly calm demeanor. “You never deal with your problems! You just run and run and expect them all to be fixed for you!” Shadow snapped. “You don’t care who you leave behind to clean up the mess!” “What do you expect me to do? Put everything and everyone I have in danger? Elincia means business, Shadow! You know that better than anyone! She may appear lazy and forthcoming in her demeanor sometimes, but when she wants to get shit done she will! And right now she plans to murder me!” “Go then. See if I come saving the day this time.” Shadow glared and turned away. “Don’t do this, Shadow. I’ll come back when its safe. When it all blows over. Or you can come visit me. You know I always have a place for you and the boys.” Alara held back her emotion. “Really? Your actions give me no reasoning to believe that. Be gone. Leave me to mourn my husband.” Shadow started to walk away. “Shadow, I loved him too!” Alara snapped back. Shadow’s mournful eyes suddenly ignited and turned towards her sister, “Don’t you say it.” “He was my brother, Shadow,” Alara’s amber eyes filled with tears, “He actually provided you safety that I never could. Sure we had our fights and our hatred at first, but when I knew he could protect you, I trusted him and loved him as my kin.” “Of all the things you could say right now, Alara, that was a huge mistake. You’ve hurt me more than our parents’ death ever could. Pretense will never forgive how you treated him during what was left of his life. Leave. Now.” Alara turned towards the door. “I’ll be with Arcona. I think it’s the safest place for me to be right now. I have a rendezvous arranging my departure to Estle City. Come find me when you change your mind.” “Of course you’re going there. And what do I tell Jorm? How do you plan on cleaning up your relationship with him?” Shadow scoffed. “Tell him what you like. Whatever is less painful for him.” Alara’s head fell as she exited the bedroom chamber. “Until next time, Shadow. Whenever that is. I love-“ “No,” Shadow closed the door behind her, “you don’t.”
