As the sheer number of recommendations can attest to, Turel’s next elevation is one of huge significance to both ourselves and his comrades in Arcona. Without him, our clans wouldn’t have come together at such a pivotal moment.

I have had the pleasure of seeing Turel rise through the ranks as one of our most prospective recruits who managed to complete his checklist well before the time-in-rank requirements for his promotions until his Knighting. He goes far past what is expected of him or his positions, as I have worked alongside him on reconstructing the Character Sheets to version 2.0 under Marick’s guidance on the project, earning himself a Steel Cross on Aug 26th, 2015 for his efforts in suggesting changes that would eliminate the bias towards dark-sided characters. In the same initiative, he aided with implementing the changes to languages through combing the database for James, earning him a Dark Cross on Aug 25th, 2015 shortly after the release of version 2.0. He received another Steel Cross again not long after on Aug 31st, 2015 for writing the new Jedi and Gray Jedi Core exams for the Shadow Academy on an accelerated schedule, well ahead of the deadline along with 11 Scrolls of Foundation. Both of these are examples of his project-related work outside of his unit and office and can be provided as evidence for his contributions to the Brotherhood at large.

Without getting too far from his work with the Shadow Academy, I believe he was chosen to author some of our arguably most important courses for his own experience with the Shadow Academy—not as a professor, but as someone who has amassed no less than three Mavens and one Savant in less time than it takes most to earn a single one of these degrees. His knowledge of Writing, Leadership and Service has earned him Mavens in each of these, while his further intellect has earned his Savants in both Tactics and Writing and Philosophy. In doing so, he has taken 11 individual courses which include Gray Jedi Order Core, Jedi Order Core, Sith Order Core, Writing Studies, Inquisitorus History, Test of Wisdom, ACC Combat Studies, Leadership Competitions, Leadership Reports, Consular Legends and Sentinel Legends.

There is little left to be said of Turel’s achievements, but I can vouch for attitude towards making Odan-Urr and Arcona two bastions in the Brotherhood. It isn’t a coincidence that both of these clans thrived under his leadership—he was responsible for sharing some of our methods with Arcona while he served as the Quaestor of Galeres and later bringing with him some of Arcona’s own methods he helped to refine to Odan-Urr. This exchange of valuable information is nothing that either of our clans has issues with—rather, we should all be rejoiced that the similarity of our methods have brought our clans closer together for the betterment of both.

Fact of the matter is, it was Turel’s insistence on bringing in our methods to Arcona that resulted in at least one recommendation for his Grand Cross earned on Feb 23rd, 2015. Where his previous leadership in Odan-Urr encouraged that leaders write recommendations for members regardless of unit or subunit, this was at the time, not the case for Arcona. In truth, this was once case where our methods were in conflict with Arcona’s when he insisted on writing a recommendation for one of their members in Galeres, who was not in his subunit at that time. Eventually, the Arconan leadership did come to admire his insistence in standing up for his fellow members, regardless of the boundaries of units and fostered much respect for his character, especially with Atyiru as the acting Quaestor of Galeres.

It was during his time in Arcona that Turel also managed to test the Path to Knight mobile application under Mako Henymory for an Anetian Cross on Dec 29th, 2014. This was something that required intensive participation to complete—something that Turel does not avoid, even with his duties as a leader as his track record from his last promotion can attest to, having earned no less than 5 Crescents with Diamond Stars, 6 Crescents with Ruby Stars, 7 Crescents with Amethyst Stars, 4 Crescents with Sapphire Stars, 7 Crescents with Emerald Stars, 2 Crescents with Topaz Stars and 2 Crescents with Quartz Stars for his placements throughout a record of at least 90 competitions participated in since his last elevation. Even so, this doesn’t scratch the surface of his contributions as a member, having also earned 11 Seals of Revelation, 6 Seals of the Crusader and a Gold Novae in a Multimedia competition in the latest Brotherhood-wide events. As one who does not choose to participate in just one avenue available to him, Turel has amassed a pile of gaming awards that include 6 Pendants of Blood, 1696 Clusters of Fire and 3200 Clusters of Earth. Still, his list of awards seems never-ending, having attained the tenth rank in the Fiction Society with another 88 Clusters of Ice on his recent record and a Legion of the Scholar for participation in trivia.

This closeness that was brought between our clans extends far past our leadership, for under Turel Sorenn’s guidance, an event was created as a cooperative feud between our clans entitled “Tides of Change.” In this, we shared a near-identical placement and participation score with Arcona and received some kind words from our Grand Master and Deputy Grand Master that went to show how Odan-Urr has grown well past previous goals. Again, while Turel was not the Proconsul of Odan-Urr at this time, it would be remiss not to attribute this in at least some small part to his charm that has us approach Arcona for an event in the first place, in which he also managed top placement overall.

Even though his record suffered due to a brief run-in with the Chamber of Justice, I believe that we all realize the importance of forgiving Turel for his transgressions. He handled this with tact and with his head held high, taking his punishment and moving on. Were it not for Sarin’s forgiveness on the matter, Turel would not be serving as the Proconsul of Odan-Urr where he has already set to work on improving our leadership capabilities and participation after a moment of rest.

Although the member has disappeared, it is nonetheless important to realize that Turel did his part in recruiting for the club, earning a Scroll of Indoctrination for recruiting Tinkles the Hutt who was, during his time here, an avid gamer. Furthermore, he cares for our members as can be evidenced through Nicolai “Rod” Rodell’s elevation to Dark Jedi Knight under Turel’s mentorship, earning Turel a Scroll of the Master for his dedication and time. Finishing his scroll collection, a featured article and book review both earned Turel a total of 2 Dark Side Scrolls. As his contributions are listed, it comes as no surprise that Turel was given a Seal of Loyalty on the Day of the Fox.

He’s dedicated to his members with strong ties to each clan he has served in. To that end, I feel that Turel has more than shown that he is willing to place the past behind him of a previous sentence which he has served in full, and has gone through great lengths to restore our trust in him. It is with heartfelt gratitude that I recommend him a promotion to the rank of Jedi Ranger and wish him the best of luck moving forward.

Additional reasons

Turel has proven himself a beacon of activity, as the above recommendations all wax romantic about. What really stands out about him, however, is his limitless attitude towards helping others. He is an outstanding member, who has performed admirably in the year since his last promotion, and I am proud to endorse this. His recent performance in the Antei Combat Centre, for the Rivalries competition, has been the only shining gem not already listed; he placed second in this Brotherhood-wide event, and had the highest wins per match ratio for more than ten matches. Added to his already impressive list of achievements, I feel quite proud to turn around and say congratulations on your promotion, Turel, this encompasses an exceptional level of effort.

Turel Sorenn, or Luna Okami, or whatever mid DJB crisis name he goes by, the results are the same. Its been awhile but I had the privlege of working with Turel as a member of the Knights Of Allusis BT. He would be the one to say that he learned alot from my experience, but I can honestly say that I learned how to love the DJB again by his excitement. When I say this man loves the DJB, I cannot over emphasize this.

While he has left Odan Urr to pursue a career in Arcona, I can say that based on other peoples opinion of him he has excelled in his leadership there as well as having that love and drive rub off on his members once again. While he has recently ran afoul of the Justice system, even that is not without something good to say about Turel. His strict system of honor could not allow him to ignore a wrong he had committed.

Again I cannot vouch for his full activity in Arcona I can vouch for what he has done in the recent Tides of Change. With an overall first place finish, Turel participated in every event. While he was doing this he was maintaining his position as a Rank XI in the GMRG.

To be an Equite is to put your fellows after yourself. I cannot say I know many who have put their clan and house mates more than this man. He has earned Prelate, he has earned this mid-tier Equite. Most of all however, he has earned his new custom Bronie-saber!

Congratulations my brother.

  • Seraphol Ceartas, Quaestor of House Hoth

General Takota Okami, 2015-10-13 07:20:00 UTC

Turel is one of the best examples of members that I could possibly point anyone to in this club. Having served as both superior and subordinate to him, I've seen plenty of what he has to offer this club and can say without hesitation that he is absolutely one of the greatest assets the Brotherhood has.

Since my last rec for Turel as his Aedile in Odan-Urr, Turel has led House Qel-Droma both as Aedile and as Quaestor, for a consecutive period of over five months. In that time Qel-Droma has done a spectacular job of showing its activity and drive, its results in the GJW a great showing of his own individual drive and passion. Whenever he's away due to real life matters, he always informs his unit, ensures the chain of command stays solid and everything keeps running smoothly. His own activity levels never falter - indeed, he prefers to set a great example and lead from the front as one of the club's dominant gamers. He also contributes in other ways, such as a great tenure on the Shadow Academy staff. Whether he is a regular member or in leadership, this is exactly what he does no matter what. This is the kind of asset that the club needs as we move towards the new era; there are very few people who can do what he does in such an inspiring fashion. Even the Justicar gave him great feedback for his honesty and willingness to work with all parties and that is some high praise indeed. I don't think there's anyone out there who could say a bad thing about Turel, really, and that's a compliment in and of itself.

It is my absolute pleasure to add my own recommendation for Turel's promotion to Equite 2. Congratulations on a very well-deserved promotion, bro. We love you.

Battlelord Mateus Kelborn, 2015-10-13 07:23:15 UTC

Hello yes, this is Wally. Since everyone else already covered all the things Turel has done on paper for Clan Arcona, I’d like to add some thoughts on what have made him a unique member to our organization that is worthy of his next promotion.

I hired Turel, originally, to take over Aedile in a House that I saw in a state of flux. There was no identity, no spark. Sure enough, he came in like a pokewrecking ball (all he wanted was to catch them all) and wasted no time giving House Qel-Droma a much needed boost. It wasn’t long before he took over as Quaestor, and helped spearhead the unit into Great Jedi War XI.

Aside from his exploits that have already been accounted, I want to mention something small and probably overlooked that came out of Turel’s initiative as a Quaestor. He created a House Qel-Droma WhatsApp group that, over time, became a home and place for the members of HQD to share whatever was on their minds. And lo’ and behold, the members found they had a lot of things in common. They developed a bond that has spurred them to become more confident, push each other, and strive to be better. How do I know this? I am one of those members. I feel more connected to my House and Clan than I ever did even before I stepped into leadership. That...is something special. You can’t teach that in the Shadow Academy.

Slapping the elephant in the room in the face, it is no mystery that Turel was forced to step down from his position as Quaestor due to a Chamber of Justice case he was involved in. I mention this because despite being slapped with a suspension and a permanent mark on his Brotherhood record, Turel handled himself with the poise and decor of not just a profesional, but an adult.

Turel did not throw his hands up and rage quit. He did not try and delete his email, his Wiki, and run away from the charges. He did not point fingers, or try and lay the blame at someone else's feet. Turel stepped up, took responsibility for his actions, and endured the consequences without so much as a peep. I’ve seen members leave the club over similar punishment. I’ve seen members do worse and run their careers into the ground.

Yet Turel simply took his punishment and continued to move forward. He could have taken a break, or sat on the sidelines while he brooded over his punishment. He did not. Even without a formal position, he offered himself to assist Clan Arcona with anything it needed. He outpaced any other member in the Clan on a sheer participation level and presence on a daily basis between IRC, Hangouts, WhatsApp, and now Telegram. And to cap it all off, he managed to take home the overall victory as top competitor in the latest Co-Op Event with Clan Odan-Urr: Tides of Change.

Anyone can sit in a leadership position and claim that that makes them a leader. That they are entitled to it. But not everyone can take responsibility for their actions, own them and push forward anyway for the betterment of others. It’s that selflessness that makes a true leader. For this reason, and the others expressed by my peers, I think that Turel has proven why he is part of the future of this club as both a leader and a member. I think that his perspective gained from his experience will only make him stronger, and I look forward to watching him to continue to leave his mark on the Brotherhood. Congratulations on EQ2, buddy. You earned it.

  • Marick Arconae, Combat Master

Exarch Marick Tyris Arconae, 2015-10-13 07:28:03 UTC

Turel is one of those members that goes where he is needed, volunteers when his skills are required. When he puts his mind towards something, he far exceeds expectations. For the majority of the past year, Turel has been in some sort of leadership capacity, assisting those below him in becoming better themselves. That is what we look for when members of the Brotherhood move up through the Equites. His dedication to the unit he is in can be looked upon as a shining example of how a leader should act and hold themselves within this club. Without Turel, Arcona and Odan-Urr would surely be in completely different places than they are now. I’ll keep this short and sweet, as this is merely a thanks, but THANK YOU Turel, for all that you have accomplished.

Wear your new rank with pride and I look forward to seeing what you design for your custom saber!

  • Arcia Cortel, Proconsul of Clan Arcona

Rear Admiral Arcia Cortel, 2015-10-13 23:45:54 UTC

Turel has been on my "most awesomest members" list since the day we met in House Odan-Urr. He was one of the members in my Battleteam at the time, The Knights of Allusis, and one of the few that actually did everything and did it well. He was always at the top, activity-wise, so naturally that caught my eye. I sort of pushed him along through the events I organized back then and, soon enough, he wasn't a newbie anymore. He wrote badass fiction, had some of the best scores in Gaming, as well as doing most of the exams in the Shadow Academy.

Now, take this description I wrote here and transfer it into a Leadership position. Even before he went to Arcona and got himself Quaestored, he had a huge amount of potential. I've personally advised our then Quaestor Liam Torun to take him as the next BTL after I stepped down. I've never regretted doing that. In fact, he exceeded my expectations.

Turel is a natural leader. He's assertive, patient and polite - all qualities of an excellent leader, mind you - but probably most of all he's a leader that leads by example. Just look at his achievements and you'll see what I mean. The latest feud between Arcona and COU showed him at his best. He topped the list by a huge margin and I cannot be more proud of him and, as far as I can see, he was the most active member in HQD until he became Quaestor of Galares.

This all based on what he shows to the Brotherhood at large. He constantly asks for advice, constantly improves himself and always thinks about his members and not just himself. I don't know what the future brings, but I do hope one day a leader such as Turel will be the one leading our Club. He certainly has the potential to do so.

I would, with great joy, like to recommend Turel for his next promotion. No one deserves it more. Congrats, brother. Now to get that pony saber done.

  • V'yr Vorsa, Herald of the Brotherhood

Boss Morgan B. Sorenn, 2015-10-13 07:28:37 UTC

Some days, I don’t know what I’d do without Turel. He’s always been a constant presence everywhere I’ve gone, and was the main reason I came to Arcona after leaving Odan-Urr. His activity levels are demanding of others to keep up with him and he’s always poking at others to keep up their activity. The moment I had met him back in Odan-Urr, I knew he’d be the type to always push himself into leadership roles-- something he absolutely kills it in. From Aedile to Quaestor, he was still the pinnacle of leadership in his downtime and still an inspiration.

I had the pleasure of having him on Battleteam Apex Brigade and he always made sure to join in the competitions I had running and we were always able to keep in touch about how the Battleteam was going. He always ended up coming to me when it came to talking about what he should do when it came to his future in the Brotherhood, ranging from character development to trying to determine what his next move is in what he wants to do for the place he loves. In the end, there’s only good things to say about Turel. About his leadership, his determination and how absolutely great of a friend he is; not only to me, but to so many people in Arcona and out there in the rest of the Brotherhood.

Thank you very much for everything you’ve done for me, Arcona, Odan-Urr and the Brotherhood as a whole. Much like your EQ1 promotion, you more than deserve this. Congratulations, Turel. You’re the best.

  • Rhiann Hi'ija

Vivibelle Baenre, 2015-10-13 07:30:03 UTC

Turel is, to be brief where I will not be shortly, a paragon of his kind and a champion of this Brotherhood. If his service list looks exhaustingly extensive, it is because this is a man who swears to serve and upholds that vow. I can think of scarce anyone better to soon call Prelate.

Though he had served as a leader in Odan-Urr, Turel choose to step forward instead of stepping back, coming to Arcona when we needed him just as much as he might've us. He was a fresh breath and a glowing spark, tasked with the monumental duty of aiding in the revival of a flagging House - and soar like a leaf on the wind he did, raising spirits and rallying those around him. He carried that vigor and energy with him not only in his three months as Aedile but also in his nearly four months as Quaestor of Qel-Droma. He did it all in that role: wrote reports each month on a rigorous schedule, left 156 comments on various news pieces, ran (co)organized, oversaw a slew of 5 House competitions from Run-Ons to haunted house fictions and gaming, contacted his members and motivated them like none other, wrote stellar recommendations and taught others all the tips and tricks he could. And even though he has been, simply put, an outstanding leader, it was his step away from leadership itself that showed most how much he deserved to be awarded.

I will swear above and below that there are precious few men as honorable or enduring as Turel. Even when he made mistakes, he owned them and learned from them. Instead of using his probationary time to relax or sulk, he held his head high and carried every lash he'd garnered with grace and dignity. He became, though it seemed unfathomable before, even more involved with his members, getting down in the dirt with them and participating in 80 competitions while cheering submissions out of his brothers and sisters - and he placed in a ridiculous amount while he was at it, particularly in the recent inter-Clan feud between Arcona and Odan-Urr. Turel has garnered himself four Diamond Crescents, two Ruby Crescents, one Sapphire Crescents, five Emerald Crescents, and one Quartz Crescent (just so many) for all his quality competition work, hand in hand with his 36 Clusters of Ice for roughly 19,000 words of fiction for eight* different fiction activities, some of which included Run-Ons for which he wrote *5252 words over **six posts. Of course, Turel has never been one to feel satisfied with just a few clusters, and has spent months and days gaming along with his clanmates and helping them earn activities too, for a mind-boggling total of two Pendants of Blood, 463 Clusters of Fire, and 1032 Clusters of Earth that placed him quite consistently in some of the top GMRG placings. As if that was not enough, Turel has also engaged his fellow Arconans and members across the Brotherhood in the ACC, completing 11 matches.

You'd think that with all that there wouldn't be time for much else. But no, not for Turel. He is both a scholar and, more, a teacher. Since his last promotion, Turel had spent roughly six months as a Shadow Academy Professor along with his various other leadership positions. He also passed 4 Shadow Academy courses and earned 5 degrees, including Mavens and Savants. Further, he was awarded a Dark Side Scroll for writing a review of one of the new Star Wars novels for the rest of the Brotherhood to reflect upon. And, when he wasn't spending his time studying, reading, or competing, he was still serving his summit and other members in an unofficial capacity as an advisor and an experienced commander, offering wisdom and insight where he could. Turel has been a bastion of activity, a shining example for our members and leaders alike to follow - through fault and success - and a stalwart commander and mentor, and it is no surprise that when, then, his probation ended, he was more than willing to step back into the role of Quaestor when we needed him most.

Turel, as I write this, I do not know if you will receive your new title by my side or gone away to help another. I do not know what your answers will be when you look inward and ask yourself who you are and what you want. What I do know is that regardless of what those answers are and regardless of where the future finds you, you will always be my friend, and I will always be a better person for having known you. That's the kind of man you are. That's who earned this. Name, order, House, it doesn't matter: it's the man under the mask, the burned man who found redemption in his own honor, that I respect. All I can say now is thank you, well done, and congratulations.

  • Atyiru Caesura Entar, Consul of Clan Arcona

Master Ruka Tenbriss Ya-ir, 2015-10-13 07:38:23 UTC

I remember my first encounter with Turel, we debated a topic in #Arcona surrounding the X-men Origins for Wolverine, when I say debate I mean we threw down our respective geek egos and measured up to see who won. I have always been impressed by Turel’s ability to see an argument from every angle, to pick up any decision that has to be made and turn it upside down, shake it, twist it a bit and make sure that every perspective of the discussion has been covered.

How does this relate to the Brotherhood? As a BTL if I ever had a concern, an idea or a topic I was unsure of how to approach the larger group summit with, I knew I could ask Turel and he would talk things through with me until I had a reasonable conclusion to move forward with. To this day, serving as his Aedile, I continue to do the same. He is, simply put, the type of leader who can make a diamond out of coal; when you bring him an idea half-formed and ugly he will work diligently to help you transform it into something you can be proud of.

His coming to Galeres as Quaestor has been a gift to the House and to its members. I am proud to have served as his Aedile, a member of his house and as one of the many members who look up to him as a Mentor. Congratulations Turel, this is a well deserved reward for your hard work and I look forward to seeing what you accomplish from here.

  • Uji, Aedile of House Galeres

Eminent Ikarri Itinen, 2015-10-13 07:50:30 UTC

Turel is the type of member who you know, immediately upon meeting them, that they are destined for leadership. He was an amazing asset to House Qel-Droma, both in his general activity and the way he stepped up in guiding fellow members during the Great Jedi War, and he has thus far been an amazing Quaestor to Galeres. There are few people in Arcona, or the Brotherhood, with his consistent drive and passion, and I am honored to call him a colleague and friend.

During the time that I have known him, he has shown an unwavering care for his members and their wellbeing. He is an outspoken advocate for everyone lucky enough to be under his command and he never fails to keep their best interests at the forefront of his considerations. Possessed of a keen eye for detail and an unflinching mindfulness, he is the first to speak up in any discussion as it pertains to his House and his Clan. More importantly, his suggestions and contributions consistently demonstrate the level of forethought and insight he brings to every project he works on and every unit he leads. He has faced a number of challenges during his short time in Arcona - of both the personal and the personnel variety - but despite his brush with the Chamber of Justice and a number of members who posed unique difficulties for a leader so new to Arcona, he has taken it all in stride and earned the respect and admiration of his peers and his units. Both Arcona and his subordinates are better for his work on their behalf.

Thank you, Turel, for everything you have done on behalf of Arcona and for the example you set for everyone around you. You’re amazing - and you have more than earned this. Congratulations.

  • Terran Koul, Aedile, House Qel-Droma of Clan Arcona

Terran Koul, 2015-10-13 07:32:22 UTC

Turel Sorenn joined House Qel-Droma literally the very day he was promoted to Equite I. Working with him since that day has been both a distinct pleasure and a learning experience. From being my Aedile to my Quaestor, to a regular member, to taking over as Quaestor of Galeres, not a day goes by where I am not impressed by his work ethic or the sheer amount he cares for the members of the Brotherhood. He breathed life into House Qel-Droma in ways I have not seen in years, not since it was led by Invictus and our now-retired Herald, Socorra. Whether or not Turel is acting Summit or a general member of the Brotherhood, he is the epitome of a leader and mentor without want of reward.

Any unit within the Brotherhood would be lucky to have him; someone in Arcona must have stepped on a four-leaf clover that day in late September. In his time within the ranks of House Qel-Droma, Turel Sorenn was the most active member without question, no matter the hurdles thrown into his path. Even my own attempts paled in comparison and still do to this day.

His true character shines through despite adversity, various difficulties or whatever task is presented to him. Turel takes on every obstacle with the same do-or-die attitude and exceeds every expectation we have. Every difficult question or explanation is given with an unending patience and gentle hand, even where others have given up out of sheer frustration. There are so many things I could say to describe the man, but, to sum it up in a single word: Inspirational.

Because of all of his efforts, it is my distinct honor (and I rarely say this) to be recommending Turel Sorenn for the rank of Equite II. It’s been a long time coming and you’ve more than earned it, my friend.

Congratulations! Go make that custom saber!!
