Celebrating the New Year

I'm sure many of you have taken some time during the holidays to catch up with family, or enjoying a massive dinner to celebrate the end of 2013. I had just recently returned for a brief absence this December with little to no internet connection. Hence, the absence of last month's Aedile report. That said, I'll be ending my New Year's celebrations with this report and including various pieces of news from the last two months, so expect a festive competition and theme!

The activity I have seen both in the House membership and leadership while I was away is astonishing. Over the past few months, we have improved our communication, activity and presence considerably. Our IRC channel has gone from something non-existant to one of the most active channels in the Brotherhood. We're maintaining the most active emailing group, with several conversations taking place at any given time. Not to mention, in the first day of the new competition series for the Knights of Allusis, we have seen five entries already. That's huge, and some of the best activity I have seen to date. We might still be the newest House in the Brotherhood, but if we can maintain this activity, expect a mountain of rewards in the future.

V'yr Vorsa and Revak Kur. Together, these two have completely reimagined the purpose of our Battleteams. With an emphasis towards keeping a close eye on our members, both of them have ensured that everyone is entertained and involved in what the House has to offer. Not only this, but being the closest leader to their Battle Team members, V'yr Vorsa and Revak Kur have personally guided both Journeymen, Knights and Equites several steps closer to their next Promotions, and are always available to lend a hand wherever it is needed. V'yr Vorsa was also responsible for the creation of the 1st AAC "Kota's Fist." This was a huge undertaking, and involved some serious skills in writing, wiki editing, as well as graphics creation. The article has even been nominated for Article of the Month. If you have time, check it out and give it your nomination to show your support!

Rollmaster Position Open for Applications

I would also like to thank Evant Taelyan for his services as Rollmaster. Its not often when we get a leader who steps up to the plate with the same dedication and excellence in the role. Evant has been a major asset throughout his brief, but fruitful term. Thanks to his efforts, we have a vast pool of Journeymen who have been steadily climbing the ranks, never ceasing at taking advantage of every opportunity to excel.

With that said, Evant has decided to step down from the position, remaining a member of House Odan-Urr. We're currently taking in applications, so if you're interested, send us your application, and we'll review it to the best of our abilities. A good example of a guideline can be found below.

Application Requirements:

• Rank of at least Protector.

• A few plans for your initial term. A good guideline is 30/60/90 days.

• An approved, or pending, Character Sheet.

• The ability to be decisive and submit ideas.

• The ability to accept, and offer, constructive, mature criticism.

Left Hand of Justice Position Open for Applications

Taigikori has recently announced an opening in the Chamber of Justice. Many of you have asked the question, "What can I do to move myself up the ladder?" in recent weeks. Well, you can't get much higher than helping out a member of the Dark Council. As the Left Hand of Justice, Teu has served faithfully as an assistant to the Chamber of Justice. However, the loss of her services has opened up the position. While being a Left Hand of Justice is sometimes seen as a thankless job, you will nonetheless recieve thanks in the eyes of the Justicar. If you're made of the stuff to take on the position, I highly reccommend offering your services to the Chamber of Justice.

Armed Forces

In addition, Ji has been instrumental in gaining interest to our Armed Forces. Having taken over the restructuring of our Armed Forces, he has completely gutted and remodelled the Kotahitanga-Unity Defense Force, combining all of our unwritten militias into a single unit now known as the 1st AAC "Kota's Fist." The work involved was tremendous, and involved several hours of wiki editing and planning out the structure of our Armed Forces, which is no small task for any one person to accomplish. Despite the difficulties faced, Ji has succeeded in this task, and continues to change and maintain the Kotahitanga-Unity Defense Force to the best of his abilities.

Antei Combat Center Open Beta

Unless you haven't been checking the news feeds lately, you probably already know about the rapid approach of the Antei Combat Center beta. Several announcements have been made to clear the way for its arrival, and you can already qualify through the completion of a few Shadow Academy Exams. It has changed considerably from the previous version, and no longer requires complicated abbreviations for Force powers and skills in your post. Like most of you, I can't wait for a chance to try out this new system, and know that I'll be available to spar anytime.

That said, it is currently in a state of flux, as the Combat Master and his team of highly skilled individuals work on rolling out the finished product. This means that your feedback plays a major role in helping them deliver the best experience possible. If anything explodes in the code, they're going to want to know about it as soon as possible. If there's something you're unsure of, or feel that it lacks clarity, let them know about it. Offer constructive feedback whenever possible. If you want a chance to contribute to a major piece of Brotherhood history, this is it.

If you want to qualify, there's no better place to look than the Shadow Academy. In it, you will find two new courses, the ACC Fundamentals Course and the ACC Qualification Exam. Completion of both of these is all you need to qualify. No longer will you need to track down a member to challenge in a qualification duel. The completion of these two simple courses will launch you from the Shadow Academy, directly into the Antei Combat Center.

AWOL Check

With the holidays now over, and mostly everyone returned from visiting their relatives, with or without recollection of their adventures, the Master-At-Arms has decided to find out who is still around. This coming weekend will have another round of AWOL checks, so if you haven't logged into the site in the last month, do it. Seriously, there's some pretty fancy features you're going to want to check out. The only way to avoid becoming marked as AWOL is to log into the website, since the process is automated. If you're absent and return to find yourself moved to the Rogues, you can always request to be moved back into House Odan-Urr. While your Summit loves to hear from you, emailing us won't help in this matter. Check out your dossiers, and the sweet robes that have been added.

Kah asks:

"With the upcoming event, are there any openings for members who wish to contribute on building the foundation of an event and learning the behind the scenes of it all? Not specifically comps, but enemy biographies, planetary descriptions, base descriptions, etc."

Most definitely! If you haven't noticed, we have gone through the Wiki to catalog all of the enemies and organizations in previous events. There is also plans to host short Run-Ons with unique storylines in the future (Similar to the ones available now.)

Rangel asks: "Light side robes when are we able to see some for us?"

That's a good question! Unfortunately, I am not able to speak on the Herald's behalf, but this is something we have seen more of lately. Orv has gone through tremendous effort to deliver robes in colors geared towards Light-Side Orders, as well as Dark-Side Orders, so I would say that it is safe to expect more in the future. Until then, check out the Nomad Robes done by Muz for Odan-Urr's unique set.
