Clan Naga Sadow Consul/Proconsul Report - August 30th, 2015

header

Hello again everyone; it's that time of the month. In this report, we'll touch on the event we are currently running, including a summary of it. We'll summarize some recent changes to the Brotherhood, in case you've missed them. Then we'll have the usual sections on awards and promotions, and finish up with a little word from our sponsor. (That's us. We sponsor ourselves.)

Brotherhood News:

Character Sheets, Paths, and Orders have all changed majorly in the past month. If you didn't notice, you might be a Sith. Your Order didn't change, and if all you do is play sims all day, you probably didn't notice your Character Sheet is out of date now, and you need to go through it again and resubmit it. If you don't want to make any changes, this should take you about five minutes, and then it's back to simming, or raising Goats. (I see you, Malik).

If you're a Krath, then there's a glitch, because we don't have Krath any more. However, you probably DID notice your character sheet is out of date, and you'll want to fix that, if you haven't already. CS 2.0 has launched, and it's awesome. Wally and his team added like, what, 30 new Feats? They also added new aspects, new skills and Force powers, and tweaks to old ones. Basically, the entire thing has gone through a much-needed renovation. That's why they call it 2.0. I spent about five minutes updating my character sheet, then about five hours going back and thinking about all the different things I could do with it. That was awesome, and at the same time consumed me, so I suppose the people who built the thing did a good job.

And the best part? Everyone can technically use lightning now. (Elders just get Shiner and Bigger lightning.)

If you're completely confused on where to begin, or want something to read for hours (that's what happened to me), you can find all the details you could ever want on the character sheet system on the Character Sheet Reference Page.

I mentioned Paths and Orders, too, and for a lot of you, this is going to sound like the same thing. Basically, Sith stayed the same, and Obelisk and Krath are no longer Orders. On the bright side, you can still show your adherence to their ways on your dossier, to differentiate you from all the traditional Sith. The Blue and Purple Orders have been replaced with Grey and Light Orders, which of course are much easier to explain: in one, you're on the fence and use both sides of the Force, in the other, you're light side, like the good guys. And now, thanks to our awesome coders and DC, you can even be a light Jedi in a dark clan, if you and your clan can explain it well.

That said, I guess I should mention that all the clans had the chance to change their alignment. That's in one of the recent DC reports, and it's more or less along the lines of what you probably expected. Except maybe those Tally guys, with the three paths. Weird.

So how does all this affect Clan Naga Sadow? Well, we're still predominantly dark, but we also allow grey path people now. Cause, you know, we can always use some morally ambiguous people, and both Consul and Proconsul are gray now. Turns out, purely dark Sith are just too insane and evil for clan-level leadership. Sorry guys!

Then we have our Token Light Sider, in Sang. Other people can do this too, if they really, really want to. And come up with a really, really good reason for why it could happen without Locke getting Force-fried by Muz, or Macron, or Vexatus, or Shikyo, or Malik, or Xia Long, or Shi…

You get the idea.

Ooh, speaking of CS 2.0, there is an ACC Competition going on right now. The Combat Master posted a report on it recently. You should go enter, because this isn't your usual run of the mill ACC competition. It's about story, and about rivalry (which is probably why its called 'Rivalries'), rather than about who can write the most squelch-inducing death scene.

That's about all I'm going to say on this. You should always read the main site, and check it every other day or so and make sure you're up to date. This is a clan report, so I'm not going to spend a ton of time repeating everything the DC has put out lately. You'll just have to read their reports directly, and bask in their glory. Just don't stop and stare at the pretty Arconan report for too long.

There is one other sort of club-wide thing: positions!

Headhunters: Club Support Positions

You know, we all join this club, and most of us are amazed by it. There's always a lot of cool content to consume. Well, after you've done that for awhile, one nice way to get involved in the club and give back to the community is to apply for one of the many positions in the club, and right now there are two offices looking for applicants: the Master of Arms, and the Shadow Academy.

In this MAA update you can find a request for applications for Magistrate to the Master of Arms. This is an entry-level position, with the intent being to learn and to gain experience. This means that, even if you have never led in the club, never worked on a major project, or never wrote a report in your life, you should still apply if you are interested. The stuff the MAA office concerns are things that are crucial to the club, but difficult to understand for many. This position is a chance to learn about what few in the club properly know about. They're only taking applications until the first of September, which gives you extremely short notice if this is your first time hearing about it. So write something up and apply, if you are interested.

The other can be found in this Headmaster Report and is just as important as the MAA one. You also have a little bit more time to apply for it. The position is for Professor of CORE Studies, and in it you will be grading exams in this area. In addition, according to the report, the person chosen will be responsible for helping to plan and write the remaining COREs, for the non-Force using Orders. This position is not only an opportunity to make a solid mark on the club, but also serves an essential role in helping to grade some of the most important and most often taken Shadow Academy courses in the club. If this is something you're interested in, you should apply. They are receiving applications until September 5th.

Clan News

If you're in Clan Naga Sadow, and you're not on No Mail, and you don't have filters set up so that you don't get notified of new messages to the clan (you know who you are), then you probably noticed that there's an event on. It's called Awakenings. Are we unoriginal, or really in tune with pop culture? Or did it just fit, really well? I'm going with the latter.

Basically, for those of you not in the know, this is what happened: Darth Vexatus appeared in the system from wherever he's been for the last few months. I know, don't groan! Apparently, the end times are coming, we're all going to die, doom and gloom, etc, UNLESS we let this guy complete some ritual to "safeguard" us. I know, I know what you're thinking. Those rituals never work out. That's what Locke thought, too, so he said, yeahhhhhhh...no.

So that's two factions.

Then you have this Marcus Kiriyu guy watching this whole exchange, who has his own vision, and basically is like "yeah, I'm not going to be a pawn in that snafu. And he decides he's going to seize on this opportunity to take power for himself. It's a brilliant move for power, probably.

Just like a Sith.

There's currently six competitions still open for this event, which ends on the 4th. We've got a runon, because we're CNS, so of course there's a runon. We've got a joint fiction, because we're CNS, so of course there's an event that's basically a runon, but not. Then we've got some other competitions, too. You'll find a link to the parent competition below, where you can also find all of the currently running competitions that are a part of it. I'd link to each individually, but if you're eligible for these competitions, and thus in CNS, you got the recent emails. Unless you're on no mail, or have filters. I'll also put links to the fiction updates thus far, including the one from yesterday. I could just dump them all in this report, buuuut I think I'd get sacked, or have a riot on my hands. We don't love fiction that much.

Awakenings

Part I: Awakenings
Part II: Visions
Part III: Truths
Part IV: Prophecy
Part V: Unleashed

Parent Competition

Runon: This is the best part, clearly. Because we're CNS, so of course...

Next Month & Beyond

I'm going to touch on this a bit. For the bulk of September, we'll have a lull. We'll probably have a fun runon, and some miscellaneous competitions, but nothing too serious. Then we'll have another event in October, which I'm not going to tell you anything about!

Below, we have listed recent awards and promotions. We've seen a lot of activity this month, and we expect to see a lot more come through next month as Awakenings wraps up. For now, congratulations to the following members, and especially Armad, on making the major jump from Dark Jedi Knight to Sith Warrior! That's a big step.

If you were missed, it's because you're so awesome that you blinded us, and not because we're human and make mistakes. But if you catch it, we'll add it!

You may ask yourself: "how do I get some of that?" The easiest way is to participate in...everything. Or some things. You already know about Rivalries, the ACC tournament from the above news. You're aware of Awakenings and it's competitions as well. I also urge you to check out the Competitions List as well, as new competitions are added almost every day, and many of them are a lot of fun. We'll also keep you updated on those in emails and other reports.

Thus ends this Clan Summit report. Awakenings has just under a week remaining. The ACC competition is live and kicking. The Brotherhood has seen some major changes lately. While they might not all be super popular, they've definitely changed things for the better, and the club is entering a new era. There's more options now, both in how you design your character, and what path you will choose. Perhaps the best part is that there is much more to come over the next few months…

Locke Sonjie
Consul of Clan Naga Sadow

Cethgus Tiberius Entar
Proconsul of Clan Naga Sadow

First! Good report.

Indeed.

Nice report!

(p.s.: turning to a lightsider: "without Locke getting Force-fried by Muz, or Macron, or Vexatus, or Shikyo, or Malik, or Xia Long, or Shi…" Xia wouldn't do that ;) )

Such content, much goodness.

I wouldn't Force fry you, I'm practically light side myself, no??!! LET ME SAVE YOU!!!!!!!!!

Id want to be saved by you Vex ;)

Awesome. Come on all let's rock the club. Let's bombard the Consul's inbox with participation notifications. Let us show the DJB the might of CNS!

Oh...and nice report
