Clan Odan-Urr Report #25
Odanites,
Summer is kicking off, so with it comes the BBQs, A/Cs kicking on and packed schedules now that schools are finishing up so I’ll keep this month’s report short to get you back outside. Fire up those charcoals and whip out the burgers because without further adieu, bring you the news...
Big Changes to the Clan
As the world opened back up from the grip of the Pandemic, we noticed a trend begin in our membership. Those who could return to work did so, and those who found old habits die, emerged with new perspectives. So I used this opportunity to change things up. I started the Consular Conclave and Guardian Corps two years ago to bring back an old system that had once kept our lore vibrant and our members in friendly competition that firmly united us and gave each member an identity along with being an Odanite. But due to the dwindling number of applications we’ve received over the years for Clan leadership positions and constantly battling the burnout we often see in Summit members as they try to balance life and Clan roles, I’ve decided to close both Houses and maintain everything under the Clan roster.
What does this mean for you? In the coming weeks, the Houses will close, and you’ll be listed only under the main Clan roster. However, the CON, PCON, and Urrs will continue to provide content, guide newer members and keep Odan-Urr a safe and friendly community for relaxing after a long day.
Lore-wise, please continue identifying with either of the two Houses as you do with SeNet, Strike-Team Ooroo, the Okami, and Tython Squadron. Their roles in the Clan will remain unchanged, and their wiki pages will be maintained as roleplay and fictional resources, allowing your character to take on one or more of the multiple professions each provides.
This decision was not made lightly, as members often grow attached to their Houses, but given the current state of the Clan, I feel that this is the best course for us. However, this may be a temporary arrangement. If things improve, we will assess the need for additional staff, and if that need is present, I would gladly open more positions with the possibility of opening a new unit.
Seven Pillars Episode III: Ashas Ree
Last month we finished our third episode of Seven Pillars, our Indiana Jones styled competitions. As a reminder of what this episode was all about, I’ve left the following summary below.
A Race For Relics
A race has begun between the Odanites and the pirate groups seeking to attain ancient relics for the power they possess. Utilizing the Consulars and their discovery of the ancient Sith temple, archaeologists have gathered evidence of another Velastari Temple. Following this lead, a new expedition will begin to unlock the mystery surrounding the Seven Pillar temples as the threat of the Illuminance Cult mounts. The Odanites and their adherence to their code will be tested.
Meanwhile, following the revelation of the ancient Sith stronghold within the Kiast system and the retreat of the Black Sun with a number of relics, the Guardian Corps have sought answers behind both events. With the temple actively repelling any who attempt to enter and the Black Sun proving elusive, a single mysterious message is received bearing a Sentinel Network coded signal, promising answers should they meet them in person.
Results
We had a total of 7 Odanites participate. I want to give a big shoutout to Revak K’Urr, Jafits Skrumm, Ryan Hawkins, Revs, Irhan Lo’Vex, Dinos Bazaar, and Benn Nevis for participating. Additionally, the following overall placements were given:
- First place: Revak K’urr
- Second place: Jafits Skrumm
- Third place (yes a tie!): Benn Nevis, Ryan Hawkins
Wrap-up
Now all that’s left is for me to finish up the wrap up fiction for this event, which I’ll share as soon as its ready. Thank you again for participating and I hope you had a lot of fun!
