Clan Vizsla Report 1.2

Introduction
Members of Clan Vizsla
I hope you all are doing well and staying warm.
The new year has brought a lot of change and its share of chaos within the first month. I appreciate everyone’s patience as we worked through this. This past month saw every member of the summit down with RL issues, health, or impacts of the ongoing storms in our areas - sometimes all three. As we recover, look to see multiple updates throughout February as we catch up from the chaos and roll out the changes we have for our community.
With that said, let’s dive into this report.

Axes Out

I’d like to start this report off with a huge thank you to everyone that participated in the Axes Out event.
Not only was this a delight to put together, but hearing how much others enjoyed it combined with the fun I had grading the entries was a real treat. Frankly, this has been my favourite event to run in my whole DB career and it all started as trying to recreate a silly holiday event Sarin threw together last year.
Some quick stats from the event:
There were a total of 16 individuals who participated in the event. Not only is this double last year’s event - this is more than our average Great Hunt participation rate of 12.2! I was totally not expecting that for a holiday event and I appreciate the requests for an extension because it definitely increased this number.
The houses were fairly equal in their own participation rates: Wren had 7/18 participate, while Deathwatch had 8/17 participate.
The most popular events were the gaming competitions. This is great to see and will lead to more skills based events in the future.
The Whodunnit answer was: Nyra Voss, with a knife, on Bakura. The answer key can be found here
For my completionists, your answer key is here. Unfortunately, not all of the RP session clues were unlocked but this did not impact scoring.
Initially, I was planning a follow up survey on the event but I’ve received a lot of good and constructive feedback in my DMs and warchat @s throughout this month. I intend to act on those for future events, so if you have more for me then please reach out and let’s chat. Good or bad, I want to know what you thought so we can make the appropriate changes. Otherwise, watch for the next return of Vajizzilor. Thank you to all of those that participated & congrats to the winners:

Club News
As mentioned earlier, the new year came with a lot of changes for the club. I’ve gone ahead and condensed the most important topics below:
- First, Bubba resigned….how rude. As we discussed in our warchat channel, Atra was nominated and there was a question period before a final vote - which Vizsla voted: yes
- After his appointment, Atra hired Idris as DGM which continued the cascade of hiring as a new Voice was needed.
- Speaking of hiring, Kam was feeling jelly and called for COJ applications across the board.
- In the midst of all this, Donald dropped a battlepass system for the club, which occurred with absolutely no blow back at all <3...A few weeks in and a filthy casual gamer like myself has already netted 56 GMRG points. You can find your points in on your dossier, under the trophies tab, search incomplete, and then look for Royal Guard Battlepass (2026-Q1)
- It was at this point, the final cycle of Parabellum launched and we will speak more of this below.
- The GM then found his Voice which continued the cascade of hiring as now COU is in need of a PCON
- Donny was back with some updates to Cluster values, unfortunately this included a nerf for D4, Helldivers, and Heroes of the Storm but Donald provided his rationale for these changes.
- Another staff move means Wolfe is now hiring a P:Voice while also providing a brief report on the direction he intends to take his new role.
- Finally, not to be outdone Turel is looking for staff as well as he needs a new P:HM and wants a Tribune for the wiki.

Quaestor Found

Speaking of hiring, those keeping an eye on our #warchat channel are aware that this past month we went through some hiring of our own. Once again, I want to publicly thank Valhavoc ad Vizsla for his service to the clan. As you can read more about in his Emerald Dagger recommendation, for awhile there Val was our own Dante. Nonetheless, we appreciate him holding down things for Deathwatch while the clan summit went through changes this past fall. And notably, I’m thankful for his assistance getting the Vizsla Bounty Tracker off the ground - which I’ll share more about in a moment.
To fill the role of Quaestor, I’m excited to announce that Hector Von Ricmore has joined our team. Hector has previously served as M:CON, Exarch Staff, and, most importantly, served as BTL of Deathwatch when it was a battleteam and saw it through to being a House while being it’s first Quaestor. Chatting with him about our plans for the community’s future, it seemed like a no-brainer to bring him on and I’m excited for the stories we will tell going forward.
Congrats and good luck, Hector!

Vizsla Bounty Tracker
One of Val’s last contributions to the clan as Quaestor had been working on a new system for the membership to be awarded. It seems like battlepass systems are all the rage right now, because before Donny launched his system for the club - Valhavoc had already been proposing our own system for here in Vizsla.
Initially set to launch last fall, this system got delayed with the summit switches/Pro Bowl and we launched a trial system in December. This was helpful as there ended up being several ties in the initial launch and this required us to come up with some tiebreaking clauses for the competitions in January. At this point, the rules are locked in until the end of March. You can find the full document here.
Note that while these are monthly competitions to earn additional awards for the top gamer/writer/artist in our midst, there is also the additional prize:
At the end of each quarter, the members who most dominated a singular path will be granted possession of the related artifact for the next quarter.

Parabellum
The Story Thus Far
Here’s a quick snippet of the current story:
For months, the Collective has been secretly building their forces up, utilizing the Brotherhood itself to arm them. Their leader, the insane cyborg Rath Oligard, will stop at nothing to destroy the Brotherhood and all who swear allegiance to it.
Aware of the Collective’s plot, the Brotherhood now works to research how to counter the Collective’s impressive technologically augmented military. Using discovered Collective code, the Brotherhood has developed S.T.A.R., The Strategic Tactical AI Resource, an advanced AI to help coordinate their own military forces. Unfortunately, the Collective’s code held a trap, activating the AI and forcing it to begin to propagate itself through the Brotherhood’s many research facilities. Now it is up to the members of the Brotherhood to shut down the AI, destroying it permanently or attempt to salvage it for usage later.

- Season 1 - Cycle 4 Competitions - There are 26 points available for this cycle, make ‘em count!
- Cycle Plot Pledge - Last chance to get your pledge in!
Important Notes
- The Button competition has a chance to close early. Please read the details completely and be ready to participate when you get the chance. Thank you!
- Competitions in each Cycle are divided into competition types, or 'bins'. The first time a member participates in a competition in each primary bin, excluding Miscellaneous, in a Cycle it counts towards that cycle's fictional path pledge. Any active member of the club can participate in any competition released under the Seasons umbrella. That includes members of the Council, so long as they are not running that particular competition. Standard participation rules apply as per relevant activity policies and the details of each competition. Additionally, there will be no Clan restrictions when it comes to any team competitions.
- Progress towards the Seasonal trophy is awarded on a per competition participation basis and granted immediately when competitions are closed. This is determined by the listed "impact" of the competition.

Other Operations
- Vizsla February Bounty Board has returned! A reminder that we will run this every month to the DB as whole to cash in on the upgraded crescents a larger participation rate offers. This is Vizsla’s best chance to cash in on 1st level crescents if we get the numbers for them. But have no doubts, this is a Vizsla event with a focus on our preferred events. If there are other competition types that you want to see, let us know in the comments or in Clan Chat!
- The Black Ledger has launched! This Vizsla-only series focuses on developing our lore, characters, and making a place on the internet that is solely ‘us’. Check out the variety of competitions being offered from now until March 15th!

In Closing
Between the Bounty Board, The Black Ledger, and Parabellum: Cycle 4 there are plenty of opportunities for this month. Take it slow, and more importantly; engage with what you find entertaining. I’ll be watching thoroughly to see what folks are enjoying so that we can continue to provide those experiences going forward.

I've been informed that you can also find your GMRG status by going to your admin panel and clicking Society Progress!
I mentioned this in the chat, but sincerely this was one of the top meta competitions I’ve participated in, especially at the clan-level.
I really appreciated the overall construction of the events and lots of very quick hitter events along with that overarching meta-event idea.
Terrific job, loved it!
