Introduction

Greetings Ektrosis! There has been some pretty great news since my last report. A new Knight has arisen, a new House has opened and we are on the eve of a Rite of Supremacy. There are also changes on the Horizon for the Sphere of Research and Intelligence that take the idea of member driven content and unique incentives to the next level. Lastly, with Mark leaving to lead the new House there is an opening for Aedile which I will also address in this report.

House News

We’ve had a few promotions in our Journeyman ranks recently.

Another Knight has joined our ranks! Congratulations to Aden Karas for achieving his Knighthood requirements before the 28 day waiting period. Enjoy the free ship (or the 10,000 credits) and access to quite a bit more options for your dossier.

Clan News

In case you missed it House Archanis has been reopened. Our Clan now is back to having two Houses again. As it was drawn up by the Clan Summit, Archanis is going to be the military minded house while Ektrosis remains focused on scientific research and covert operations. Check your emails for a run down from Rian who should also be releasing a report with more information soon.

DB News

There is a Rite of Supremacy just over the Horizon. The forces of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood will be once again going up against the cyborg freaks of The Collective. There have been a handful of important reports and updates to come out in advance of the RoS. Wally has released two fiction updates, as well as his pre-RoS Voice report. Howie has his “deny everything” report out. Drac shared information on the brackets for the RoS gaming competitions and lastly there was a really cool report with little mini-stories coming out of each clan (Spoiler: the Taldryan news report mentions the SRI).

Fist Report #23

SRI Update

Research Project #4 is in the books. The SRI headquarters on Iosan did survive the assault by the Collective, in part due to the intervention of Consul Rian Taldrya. However, Rian is not very happy with a certain Aleena for being so reckless in essentially inviting the Collective to the Caelus system and personally took possession of the captive Torin Morgath. Additionally, Andrelious was also very upset with Justinios for springing a trap without consulting him as Aedile first, especially with his children present. Rian and Andrelious have conspired to form a more military minded House for Taldryan, House Archanis, in part to diffuse some of the power within the Clan away from Ektrosis and its sometimes unpredictable Quaestor.

There will be major changes to the SRI systems after the RoS ends. Without going into the nitty gritty details there will be a handful of major changes:

The morality system will be eliminated.
The SRI will officially have two research divisions, BioScience and Advanced Systems.
The choices you will now have in each fiction will be to provide resources, information, personnel or equipment to one of these two divisions. Doing so will earn your character reputation with that division.
There will be ranks to earn with each research division that grant perks to use in House (and maybe even some Clan) ficitions. For example, gaining reputation with BioScience may grant you a Perception stim whereas Advanced Systems may grant access to a unique explosive device.
For the purposes of House fictions, your character will be able to equip and use these items regardless of skills and loadout space.
Lastly the winning fiction, and who they supported, will directly drive the research progress of the SRI. For example, does BioScience get control of the Wampas the SRI currently holds, turning them into biologically enhanced monsters? Or, does Advanced Systems get their hands on them and strap rocket launchers and blasters to them?

My hope is that these changes take the tenants of the SRI, member driven content and meaningful incentives, to the next level. If you have any thoughts on these ideas please share them with me.

Ektrosis Aedile

First and foremost, congratulations to Andrelious for becoming the first Quaestor of the newly resurgent House Archanis.

As you are no doubt aware, these leave the position of Ektrosis Aedile vacant. I do not plan to fill this position until after the Rite of Supremacy. After discussing with the rest of the Summit, we all felt that this was the best plan so that we could all focus on activity during the RoS. However, if you are interested in the position I am happy to chat with anyone about the position and what I will be looking for ahead of time. The biggest thing I am looking for is someone who can lead by example and be a paragon of activity. Beyond that, I would love to give someone the freedom to run projects of their own.

Wrap Up

I am going to keep this brief, let’s give this Rite of Supremacy all we can. We have the skills to pay the bills and I know Taldryan can do some serious damage if we put our minds to it.
