Introduction - 2017 Year in Review

So it’s that time of the year again. It’s time to take stock and see where we all are both together as a Clan and as a House. Also since I just completed a full year as your Quaestor I will also be taking a close look at my performance over the last 12 months.

As a Clan and a House I see that we have made great strides during 2017 to strengthen our already tight bonds between each other. Sadly the decision had to be made to temporarily close the Knights of Allusis BT in favor of the Wildcards. Under Keiji and Seraphol before him, the team is beginning to take shape and I think will make a great addition to our lore. Of course, the big news item for the year was also our biggest roadblock when it came to developing our story as a House. The Great Jedi War dominated our thoughts and plans for almost the entire year and with all our preparations you the members came out big time to help Odan-Urr become the Champions and the First Clan of the “D”JB. I still am very proud of all you did to make that possible you are all very amazing.

This isn’t to mention we did run a quick House event in hopes using your ideas to fuel the next full House event and I’m happy to say we are finally working on the House fiction that will lead us to our next event. An event which we hope to announce in my next report. So keep an eye out for that.

As for your leadership, Both Celevon and Keiji are doing excellent work and they are working very hard behind the scenes to help to make 2018 even better than last year. To speak specifically for a moment Keiji is our newest member to join leadership and in spite of some rough areas he is working out to be a great leader and he is someone I do have a lot of faith in. He is also dealing with a tough work schedule so when he is able to dedicate time to the BT he is all in. Keep it up Keiji!

As for your Aedile, Celevon, is the great statistician. He does so much work behind the scenes that it makes running events and the House so precise that we can do more and more things for all of you. He also if quick on the draw when it comes to getting tasks done. We can spout a crazy idea off in summit chat and if it has any merit he is already running the numbers or working out the best way for us to run it.

So, honestly, these two guys are doing awesome work and it makes Hoth a much better House for it. Thank you, gentleman!

As for myself, I am behind schedule on a lot of the things I wanted to complete by now. I need to complete a bunch of wiki work, start (and complete) some House fictions and I want to run a full House event for all of you. These, as they say, are things I will be focusing on for the foreseeable future. So don’t be surprised if I’m a little scarce in chat. I will leave the day to day stuff up to Celevon while I crack the whip and get things done for you.

Now, of course, this doesn’t mean you can’t come to me directly. I will always make time for anyone with a question or problem my door is always open. I’m always in your service.

So, overall I do believe Hoth is doing really well and when you see the Scimitar numbers you can see how gangbusters you all have been. The members of Hoth truly do inspire me to be the best I can be and anytime I do less than I believe you deserve I feel like I have failed all of you. When I do feel that way, I do what I can to turn that energy into something positive or fun for you all to sink your teeth in and I hope we can bring that to you all soon. In the meantime, bask in the glory that was Hoth in 2017 and let’s make 2018 even better together!

General News

• On Jan 10, 2013 the Knight of Allusis it was Lead by some very well known Odanites and was even my first BT as well. As i said before I hated to inactive the team but I do hope to see it rise again. So to all fellow Knights raise a glass and toast all our past glories!

• GM Pravus announced that Adept Dacien Victae joined the [Star Chamber] in the temporary position until recently held by Val Cole. Not sure what the Star Chamber is? Then read about it here.

• I’m sure Arch will report on this in his next report but I’d like to congratulate both Blade and Ranarr for becoming our new P-Con and Rollmaster, respectfully. Good Luck guys!

• The Herald has opened up the Praetor and a Magistrate, positions in his office if you’re interested make sure you read the news post and get your applications in by Jan 13, 2018!

• The Justicar has opened up applications for both the Right Hand of Justice and the Left hand of Justice. The application can also be found HERE. Your completed application must be submitted by Jan 13, 2018!!

The 2017 Scimitar of Lord Hoth has been Crowned!

Hoth - The 2017 Scimitar of Lord Hoth - Has come to a close and before we get to the final results we do need to honor and report December’s Results

As we entered December it was known that 1st and 2nd place were only 12 points apart with 3rd not too far behind. It was anyone’s game heading into the last few weeks. Celevon and I knew we wanted to run a design a sword comp and decided to award some bonus points for it. We hoped to sweeten the pot for some of you. It was received very well, which was awesome to see.

At the end of the month, we saw 6 members score over 200 points and another 4 members hitting the 150 or better. This was awesome to see that even a month after the War you guys brought the activity.

So for the month of December 2017 the Scimitar of House Hoth is Ka Tarvitz by earning 549.75 points, C’ree came in 2nd with 311.50 points and in third with 300.75 points was our newest Hothian Luna Okami.

Ka Tarvitz is the 2017 Scimitar of Lord Hoth!!!

With a whopping 2,079.75 points, Ka Tarvitz is hereby dubbed the Champion of this year’s competition. He is also granted the title of the Scimitar of Lord Hoth He is also is the sole owner and protector of Lord Hoth’s Ceremonial Scimitar (both fictional items only) for the next 12 months. Unless you defend your title successfully of course.

In any fictional of a ceremonial nature, you may use the title and sword. Just remember the sword is not a possession and can’t be used in combat in any competition.

• 2nd Place with 1,860.50 points is C’ree
• 3rd Place with 1,562.50 was Droveth
• 4th Place with 1,261.75 was Tisto
• 5th Place with 942.25 was Torin

Member of the Month

This month, we picked 2 wonderful members to be our stars:

• First I’d like to call out Lu`aisha Gresee, she is a member that has been in COU for a long time. She was here before I was, she has a very busy real life job and is forced not to be as active as she would like to be but she came out strong during the war. She participated in 10 War comps and even completed a war comic all on her own. She even convinced and helped me stay focused and complete all the comps I was working on as well. Her efforts earned her a Steel Cross and my eternal thanks for putting some of her precious time aside to help make us the First Clan of the DJB!

• Our second MotM is Ozosi Vym aka Kris to who the simple statement of rising star is such an understatement that it losing all meaning. Kris not only was recently Knighted but she has stepped up during the war by participating in 5 War comps, then she applied for and got accepted as Docent in the SA under the GM himself. Every leader that has the pleasure of working with her (including me) is so impressed with her that we all know she will go far in this club. So for her unyielding spirit, passion and drive, she was an easy choice for the final MotM for 2017!

Tarvitz asked - Who are you? What do you want? Why are you here? Where are you going?

Leave it to Tarvitz to ask the big questions. As to Who I am - I see myself as a guide, teacher or mentor not solely a leader that only sees the people in the House as just fictional creatures, but real human beings in which I help achieve things for their betterment.

I want or desire to see Hoth and Odan-Urr as a hole become not only a strong unit but a true family where we are all looking out for each other and doing awesome things together.

I’m here because I believe that I can help people. I have seen and done a lot in my life that was not great and I have made many mistakes in my life. I can’t change the past but I hope my purpose is to help one person not make the same mistakes I have.

I’m am going on a good path one that I hope will see me attain my purpose of being in this House at this time and place. I believe I am achieving my purpose but the times I do not care when I get in my own way and fall back on bad habits.

The one question you didn’t ask is Do I have anything to live for? To this I will answer is Yes, ever since my first niece was born and I held her for the very first time I swore right then and there I would change and try to be a better person. A person she can be proud of and, to that end, I do what I can to help wherever I can.

Yuki Suoh Asked - How do you honestly feel about the last year? Do you think that your time as QUA has had a positive impact on Hoth and on COU as a whole? What plans do you have moving forward from this milestone?

I kind of touched on this in my opening statement but I honestly feel like I could or should have done more to get things done for the House. There is still so much to do that I do feel like I let everyone down, but this is something I do plan on correcting and I look forward to sharing new things with all of you. Going forward my plans are to finally get a lot of new wiki content out there, write and be involved in writing more House Fictions, getting a new House Event out there for you all to further our story and have as much fun as i can with everyone.

As for my impact on the House and Clan all I can hope is that the Summit and all the members of the Clan see my time as Qua to be a worthwhile affair. I do my best and am always fighting for the members, I believe I have done well and the numbers seem to back that up. In the end, it will be up to all of you if I leave Hoth better or worse than when I joined the summit.

In conclusion -

As we close the books on yet another year I do want to say that I feel extremely lucky to be a part of House Hoth. Solyiat and Hoth have truly become my home and a place that Edgar and I could spend the rest of our lives. Finally, I wish for all of you to have a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year both in Real Life and here in the DJB!
