Hoth QUA Report: A New Chapter

Introduction

When I joined House Hoth as your aedile a little over two months ago, I didn’t envision becoming quaestor at all, let alone so soon. But life has a way of surprising you, and here we are. Honestly, I’m excited—not only for the opportunity to serve in this position, but for our next chapter as a house. As you’ll read a little below, I’ve been working with the summit of House Sunrider to prepare an event that will drive our storyline forward and give us all something fun to do for the next couple of months.

Before we get down to business, though, I’d like to begin with a huge THANK YOU to Edgar Drachen for his service to House Hoth. He’s responsible for inviting me to the house. His creativity and passion set several different projects in motion; much of what you’ll see coming out of the house summit in the short term represents the fruit of his dreams, organization, and labor. Long live the Hothfather! (And look, I didn’t make a Hothmommy joke.)

You thought we were done with the gratitude? Think again. Let’s give Odan-Urr’s own Seals her flowers for creating these gorgeous new report graphics. Not only are they pretty, but they’re personalized to Corinna’s identity as an Aurora Collegium researcher. And I would be remiss if I didn’t thank our new tiger overlord, Turel, for trusting me with the mantle of leadership. I won’t let you down, boss!

Now, onto the show.

Aedile Wanted

My ascension leaves a vacancy in the house summit. Since I’ll need an accomplice in various plots and schemes, I am officially searching for an aedile.

There are no rank or experience requirements for the position; all I need is energy, creativity, the ability to work as part of a team, and a commitment to abide by the Odanite Code.

If you are interested, please send me an email introducing yourself, sharing any relevant club or real-life experience, and describing what hopes you have for House Hoth. I will accept applications until site reset on Sunday, August 9. However, given existing plans for the next couple of months and my need for a collaborator, I reserve the right to select an applicant before the deadline. So, don’t tarry and get in touch sooner rather than later!

News

• Inter-House Event: The house summits have been working together for over a month to develop an event that will advance house storylines in a way that is distinct but complementary, introduce a vision for our fictional settings going forward, and provide a boatload of competitions through the rest of the year. We hope to launch the first phase of this multi-part event the first week of August. Keep your eyes peeled!
• House Fiction: In his farewell report, Edgar released a house fiction that serves as a sort of introduction to the inter-house event I teased above. Be sure to give it a read.
• Clan Title: The Deputy Grand Master recently announced a change to the clan title policy. Accordingly, Clan Odan-Urr is developing new criteria for qualification to the Council of Urr. To share your ideas about these criteria, you can join the thread on Discord. Alternatively, reach out to me and I can make sure the right people hear what you have to say.
• Proconsul Wanted: Turel is accepting applications for proconsul. Check out his report and apply by July 31 if you’re interested.
• Tiger Overlord: As you’ve undoubtedly heard by now, Turel Sorenn has been named Consul of Clan Odan-Urr. Please read his inaugural report for an introduction, a rundown of clan performance in the Great Jedi War, a snapshot of his plans and philosophy, and information about applying for proconsul.

Competitions

I can’t include every competition in my reports, but I’ll use this section to highlight some that deserve special attention.

• Clan Odan-Urr Refrigerator Art Invitational: I love the concept of this graphics competition run by our own Magda Venn (Ji). The next installment begins tomorrow (July 27).
• Lorefest: There’s a few more days left to earn bonus Clusters of Ice in this competition from the Voice’s office.
• Battlefront 2 Co-op: Support the Hothfather with some BF2.
• Envoy Corps: New NPC, Who Dis?: Make an NPC for the Exarch. Can you make a character better than my Mandalorian Ewok?

Also, this isn’t a competition, but…I’m running a roleplay to introduce my Mandalorian Ewok. Poke me on Discord to be added. All are welcome.
