With the start of a new storyline for House Hoth, there are plenty of exciting things on the horizon.
And now, to the report!
Governor’s Office, Kaal City, Daleem:
Spires of steel and glass gleamed under the setting sun, while the streets below hummed with bustling activity and the sounds of speeders. Governor Syrena gazed out the window of her office to the growing city below, a mug of freshly brewed caf resting on her desk amidst various organized stacks of paperwork.
A polite knock sounded at the door, and with it entered a protocol droid, announcing the start of the meeting, “Governor Syrena, your guest has arrived.”
Lord Kaelen Anasaye entered the room and sat across from her desk, his posture immaculate and poised, rare gemstones ornately gleaming from where they were pinned into his smooth blonde hair. He wore black robes, woven with the golden insignia of the Vatali family crest, a mark of his status.
“You surprised me, Lord Kaelen. I did not expect you to request this meeting,” Syrena began, folding her hands over the desk. “I was told that it was you who intentionally created the problems behind the Aurellia Circuit fashion show.”
Kaelen smiled faintly. “I was… Skeptical, yes. Daleem and Kaal City as a whole, seemed ill prepared and unworthy of being selected to host an event of such prestige. I had reason to ensure its failure before it could embarrass my family, and tarnish the reputation of what the Aurellia Circuit means to the intergalactic fashion scene.”
Syrena’s eyes narrowed momentarily, though the rest of her posture remained calm as she spoke. “We are aware, Lord Kaelen. We cleaned up the mess that you attempted to create.”
He lightly waved his hand in a dismissive gesture. “And yet, despite my… Interference, the show did not fail. It flourished. Quite a few stunning models on the runway as well. They each carried themselves with such grace, and their sense of style was absolutely ravishing… Esen, Edgar, and Zen, I believe their names were.”
Lord Kaelen paused, gesturing for the protocol droid to pour him a glass of wine before continuing. “And that, Governor Syrena, is precisely why I am here. Kaal City has proven itself more vibrant than I imagined. I want to see it added to my list of leisure retreats, perhaps even offer the city a seat of influence in its own right. A palace, an estate— Something worthy of hosting my business associates, and the Vatali family.”
Syrena paused for a long moment, her voice cold as she made her next statement. “At whose expense?”
Kaelen’s lips curved into a smirk as he raised his glass, savoring a sip before replying. “I saw no reason to trouble you with the details. Several officials have already granted their approval—my family name carries its own authority. It was… commendable of House Hoth to attempt to reserve that land for the working class. Noble, even. But I will see that it serves a far greater purpose in the long run.”
Streets of Kaal City, Utility District, Daleem:
Beyond the walls of House Hoth’s offices, word began to rapidly spread. By the evening, whispers and rising concerns of Lord Kaelyn Anasaye’s intentions had already spread through the markets, down to the utility districts, and among the housing blocks that had once been promised—by word and sentiment— to the city’s poorest families. Those who had been relying on such a possibility, soon learned that the land had been quickly sold off by investors and city officials either too dazzled, or too indebted, to refuse Lord Kaelen’s seemingly endless supply of credits.
The next morning, smoke rose into the city sky. A heaping pile of burning flags with the Vatali family crest scorched before the territory purchased by Lord Kaelen Anasaye, blocking the entry to the construction site. Workers, commonfolk, and Kaal City’s poorest populations stood at the scene, clutching signs daubed with painted messages in protest, each of them chanting in unison: “Down with the Vatali!”
The barricades became fortified, and crates of arms began to appear. Various blasters, blades, even heavier weapons, all evenly distributed into the restless hands of the protestors— And each one donated by a benefactor acting behind the scenes.
Kaal City plunged into unrest, with various store owners and cantinas closing early in preparation, in fear for the storm to come. An emergency meeting for the entirety of House Hoth has been called upon by the Governor, to decide how to handle the matter.
House Hoth’s Stand: Phase 1 Vote
The decision of how to handle this story point will serve as an important choice both for your character, and for House Hoth as a whole. This is also a chance to explore the notion of revolution that a few of you have mentioned, and how events regarding this could possibly unfold, depending on the results of the vote. Ultimately, this vote will help to define the overall narrative arch of House Hoth’s stance, both economically and politically.

As some of you know, I’ve hosted a range of fun, lighter hearted competitions and storylines in the past. First Edgar got captured by pirates, we took a cruise through space, then we established a prosperous cantina known as The Last Kaal, and most recently, we had the fashion show. While I still plan on keeping the fun, recently I’ve gone back to the drawing board to establish a few more narratives for House Hoth, ones that will potentially help to build more upon the main story along with the Factions within Kaal City.
The Aurellia Circuit plot flows directly into the newest storyline, House Hoth’s Stand, which will have multiple phases. This will potentially play up the idea of revolution and conflicts with the Vatali, which a few of you have expressed interest in. However, I want each of you to have your own voice within the story, with all of your amazing characters… Which is why I’ve drawn some inspiration from our Consul to implement a voting system, so I can help build the narrative arcs and shape the stories based on what you each decide.
With that said, while each of these competitions are impactful to the story, I’ve aimed to make them ones that are easier to participate in. And lastly, I simply can’t say this enough: All of you, and your characters continue to inspire me. Thank you for all that you continue to do, fellow members of House Hoth!
