House Shar Dakhan Aedile Report - January 16th, 2015

Heavy Cruiser Retribution
Korriban Space

"Keep those fighters off us!" Captain Donovan Chanden bellowed. "Where's our damned fighter support?"

"They're protecting the Harbinger, Sir!" someone said.

"That blasted ship has plenty of fighters of it's own!" Donovan replied.

"Sir, they're under heavy fire, Sir!" the same officer repeated, voice tense. He seemed strained. They had fought in the Crusade, true, and while times had been tense with the other units of the Brotherhood then, they had never erupted into open warfare. This three way brawl was insane.

"How could they let it come to this?" Donovan muttered.

"Sir! More fighters incoming, bombers this time!"

Donovan cursed. "Redirect power to our laser cannons. Fire at will!" Unlike many large capital ships, the Retribution was equipped with laser cannons. Smaller than a turbolaser, they were able to aim more efficiently and designed to target starfighters or warheads. It was a role starfighters or corvettes and frigates usually performed, but in this case, the heavy cruiser was on her own. It seemed that, even in the midst of pitched battle, they would have to face threats by themselves.

"Very well, " Donovan growled. Aja had done this with her own cruiser. It had been destroyed, but before that she had thrived in unpredictable battles like this. Rumor had it she had turned down a promotion after surviving the loss of her ship.

For a few tense seconds the crew watched the bridge's tactical map as the bomber came nearer. The bridge's lights went dark as their power was drawn elsewhere, leaving the map display the largest source of light. One of the enemy's blips winked out, then another, and another, until only two craft remained, pulling away from the Retribution.

Donovan breathed a sigh of relief. He hoped this battle was worth it, whatever it was for. It was terrible to lose men like this, fighting their uneasy allies of the past. Once again, Donovan asked himself that question:

Why did the Dark Lords let it come to this?

Introduction

Hey guys, welcome to a special edition war report! It's special because it's short, and it's all about the war. How's yours going? Are you participating in a Runon? Are you on a Battleplan team? Do you have an idea in mind for the Multimedia competition? We're just over a week in, and there's about three to go!

The rest of this report will share a lot with my last one because it's about the same stuff. But you should still read it, because it's important and I wrote it.

Oh, and as for the fiction, I wanted to show what the 'War was like from the perspective of one of the members of our regular military, in their own role in the conflict.

The Great War Continues

Armies clash on Korriban, space cruisers duke it out in space, and somewhere, many of us are participating in competitions.

As I noted in my previous report, Naga Sadow has chosen to stay loyal to Muz. I assure you the rumors he is planning something that may result in our deaths is false propaganda and should not be trusted. In your competitions, however, you are free to choose any side you wish, as long as you justify it.

Also as noted previously, the War has three groups of competitions: the First Half, the Second Half, and The Stuff That Runs the Entire Time (TSTRtET). (Never let me name thingsā€¦)

Below you will find the First Half Competitions, and the ones for TSTRtET.

Be sure to read each event carefully, both before and after subscribing. It is important to make sure you follow the rules to qualify for entering and obtain the best possible placing!

Closing

I told you this would be a short report, and that it would be redundant. It's purpose was mainly to serve as a refresher and remind you of how much time is remaining to enter the currently open competitions for the Great Jedi War. So, I'll end this one with a question: How is your War going? Is it good? What events are you doing? Do you have it mapped out? Or are you still putting the parts together? (like me!)

In the name of the Clan, go forth and conquer! For Sadow!

Hate I didn't get to finish what I was doing in our Clan RO, now my character is off with the Organization >.> Oh well, other comps are needing my conquering!! Never Sober!
