DB News

We'll start with DB news and then focus specifically on the happenings within the clan. Alethia Archenksova released her first Exarch report. In case you missed this news, there is a renewed push to have roleplay officially recognised as an activity at the same level as gaming, fiction or graphics in the DB. I am super excited by this one being an old school MUD/MUSH player. I am keen to see where this goes.

Idris Adenn in his role as Combat Master also released a report where he provides some info on the future of the ACC. For those of you who participate in this activity, it is a very valuable read.

Evant gave an update on what is happening with the migration from Telegram to Discord. The DC has been doing a heck of a lot of work in preparing for this. At this stage, unless there are issues, the migration will officially take place from the 1st of October. In reality, many of us have already made the move. I still check Telegram, but usually no more than once a day. Most of the TG channels I am on are now pretty dead so I think most people have also made the move.

The Discord app isn't perfect, but it does provide a lot of benefits. Channel management has been a pain for a long time with some channels having to be recreated when a new administration takes over because the old manager has gone Rogue. Channel/User roles are also awesome. You will see this when you are allocated to your Pro Bowl teams. You will automatically gain access to the dedicated channel that was setup explicitly for the Pro Bowl.

There were three supplemental reports from Idris Adenn in his role as Voice. The first one is about the new Voice-sponsored monthly LOREFEST competition. The second and third were related to Voice staff. In the end, Idris selected Zentru'la as his Praetor and Tasha'Vel, Reiden and myself as Magistrates with Atty staying on as a Special Magistrate while the new staff are broken in.

There were also two supplemental reports from the Regent, both related to the special items from the recent Rite of Supremacy.

The new Herald, Rian Taldyra, released his first report. It highlighted some of the awesome new artwork coming soon to a dossier near you.

And in the final piece of DB news, Evant opened applications for FIST. A huge thanks must go to Justinios for doing such a good job in the role over the last two years. Applications close on the 26th of September and details can be found in the linked news article.

Plagueis News

Now on to Plagueis news. First, everyone please welcome back to Dracaryis into the Plagueis family. It is awesome to have him back and doubly awesome that he was willing to step into the role of Aedile in House Ventress. I am thrilled that he accepted the role. The di Plagia also assembled to (re)award the clan title to both Drac and our PCON, Alaris. A big congratulations to them both for getting those titles back.

Finally, our very own Sinya was elevated to lead the brand new Tyranus Battleteam, Talzin! Congratulations Sinya, this was well earned.

Slagar released his monthly Consul report which contained a metric butt ton of information on the Pro Bowl. If you haven't read it I strongly suggest you give it a read. There is lots of valuable information in there.

And in the last piece of Plagueis news, Alaris released his second Proconsul report.

Aliso Summer Fesitval

Before I close out the news section, and in case you missed it, here are the results for the Aliso Summer Fesitval! In total we had 15 members of the clan participate which is a decent 55% participation rate. Five of those participated in every competition, and another two only missed one. In total, 46 crescents were handed out to participants throughout the event.

The winner of the first Aliso Summer Festival with a total of 46 points is our very own Azmodius Equesinfernum! Azmodius was a real stand out during the competition earning 11 crescents.

In second place, with a total of 44 points is Khryso Mallus! Khryso also put in a tremendous performance earning nine crescents.

In third place, ahead on countback with 42 points is Alaris Jinn! Alaris earned an amazing 10 crescents during the event.

In fourth place, also on 42 points but behind Alaris on countback was our very own Aleister Mavros! An excellent seven crescents earned by Aleister.

And in fifth place, with a total of 39 points is Tahiri Thorn Morte Tarentae! Another excellent seven crescents earned.

I had a lot of fun with the Aliso Summer Festival and it will be back next year. I already have a calendar entry to remind me to prepare for it.

Aedile's Corner

Hello House Ventress!

Most of you know me, but some of you don’t. I’m Drac. I’ve been in the club for a little over seven years. Started out in Plagueis in 2014, held BTL, AED, QUA, and RM spots. I served as Fist of the Brotherhood for over three years, then spent about a year in Clan Vizsla. I took a short break from the DB this summer while I was moving from Hawaii to Kansas. I came back about a month ago and decided to return to Plagueis.

Regardless of what you have heard, I’m actually not a jerk, and I’m pretty easy to work with. Expectations are simple: leaders participate and drive activity for the members. That means running competitions and reaching out INDIVIDUALLY to folks. Mass emails are great for informing, but individual discussions give leadership in this club a personal touch.

I don’t like split communities. While this is House Ventress (with Battleteam Opress as a sub unit), we are all part of Clan Plagueis as a whole. Qormus and I aren’t going to have a side house chat or anything like that. That’s what emails are for!

I’m excited to be back where my DB experience started.

Let’s get to work.

Final Thoughts

The Pro Bowl is finally here and I am pumped! This will be my first participation in a Pro Bowl, and I am also thrilled to serve as one of the team captains for the Rotworms. Alaris, the other Plaguies team captain and I have already conducted our draft of clan members to each team. I assume these will be announced in the coming days.

Just remember that just like the Rite of Supremacy, participation is key. And unlike the RoS, the competitions will be a little easier which I hope will make it easier for everyone to participate in more competitions.

If any of you want to talk about something, or have suggestions, you can find me on Discord or email. I’m always available for a chat.

Signed,
Warrior Qormus Aquila

Great Report, Qormus! See you on the Gridiron!
