Port Ol’val
Blind Spot District
43 ABY
“This is stupid,” Nicfer whispered through gritted teeth into her comm. The Zeltron made sure not to draw any attention as she walked towards the meeting location.
“Your assessment has been duly noted, Luthol,” Lontra’s voice returned calmly.
Nicfer grumbled, and glanced at her “partner” for this mission. The Umbaran was shorter than her, but had striking silver-grey eyes with yellow streaks that were accentuated by gaunt darker grey markings around his eye sockets. Grycym, he had said his name was. He seemed pretty easy going, but she had no idea of what his combat capabilities were beyond the blaster and lightsaber he carried. All she had been told by her oppressive overlords was that he would be joining her.
Nicfer reached the side alley that had been designated for the meeting. It was definitely not a trap. She leaned casually against the wall and did not have to act real hard to adopt a bored, tired expression. Grycym hung back and tried to blend in with the locale and look as unassuming as possible.
“You must be the Blind Man, then,” a voice spoke as a Bothan woman stepped from the shadows of the alleyway door, lighting up a cigarra. She was flanked by two burly looking enforcers, both Devonarian judging by their pale red skin and protruding horns.
“Yes, you can clearly tell I’m both a man and blind,” Nicfer quipped. The woman—Bragdari Kentle—was a new up and coming enforcer looking to carve out a name for herself and her crew. She knew she was supposed to be “diplomatic”, but she just couldn’t help it.
“Heh...funny. I’ve been looking forward to this,” Kentle grinned, as the Devonarian’s falkning her each drew a vibro axe...
Hello yes, this is Wally. For this report, I wanted to cover a few things. The most important however, is our new Aedile, who’s actually already been on the job a few weeks at the time of this publication, but we wanted to shout it out nonetheless!
Please welcome Lontra as the newest Aedile of House Qel-Droma! We are very excited to have him onboard.
The Summit and I have been working on a one-sheet kind of document to help new members. For those that are new to Qel-Droma, or even old/returning veterans, I’d love to get your feedback on the HQD section, which you can find here. It should cover the basic overview of the house, our fictional location in the DB’s sandbox, and some common terminology. Let us know what you think!
You can obviously also check out the other tabs, which cover Dajorra, Galeres, and the overall structure of the Clan!
With that out of the way, now over to Lontra, who will be taking point on the House reports and give a bit of introduction about himself and his goals.
Suspicious Activity Detected In my head canon, I imagine that James was busy tinkering away with the site when Discord sent him that message - read outloud to him in the Starcraft Adjutant voice.
You have to understand, I was very well meaning when I caused this alert on my very first day as Aedile. But then it became a thing where now when I DM someone who isn't already a friend: I have to complete a CAPTCHA to prove I'm human. This is me, I break things.
However, the #RecklessOptimist in me wants you to know that this is a good thing - see, on my very first day I made the Dark Council take note of HQD. This is because I'm an old school disrupter, breaking websites and systems rather than world order. You're welcome, Wally.
Long story, short - do me a favour and add me as a friend on Discord so we can chat!
As many of you found out during my discord blitz, I'm Lontra/Raiju/Brett. It has been a pleasure getting to know/reintroduce myself to each of you over the past few weeks. I have held many roles in the club over the decades as a member. Each had its own sets of duties and responsibilities as well as challenges. Especially when we all serve in a volunteer, part-time capacity and Real Life remains our most important priority. Because of this, I’ve seen the strengths and weaknesses of many positions.
This is why I, personally, find Battleteam and House positions so important for the overall club structure. I look at them as frontline positions dedicated to serving the membership directly with unique, catered-to-individual/small group experiences while providing insight for the Clan Summit and Dark Council to develop shared experiences for the larger audience. To me, this means that the House Summit is to be run as if we are your confidants, your advocates, & your ace in the hole. To hold a position in the House summit is to be committed to being your first responder for engagement with the club and this is a concept I'm passionate about.
My Services Don't Come Cheap
Moving forward, I hope to use my experience and passion for this position to build on HQD's legacy as a pillar under Arcona, however, I certainly can’t do this myself. Some of you may have noticed I often referred to summits as positioned members - this isn't an accident. People can be leaders without a title, just as there can be positioned members who aren’t in fact leaders. Obviously, the second should be avoided but more importantly; the first should be encouraged, celebrated, and promoted. As with any club, whether it be online or in person like the Kinsmen/Lions/Shiners there is only going to be a finite amount of positions that exist in the DJB but that shouldn’t prevent people from contributing to the community and making parts of it for themselves. Therefore, I’m committed to using this position to create more opportunities for an inclusive environment but the deal is: I’ll maintain the roads, but you have to drive on them.
This section will cover the shout outs and recognition for members of the House, highlighting metrics but also things that might not be tracked on the site.
We want to take a moment and recognize that HQD was able to field 2 HQD-only groups with 9 members total for the RP Competition for Seasons Cycle 2. This is already more than we expected and we are thrilled to be writing with all of you. Fun & mischief will be had by all. Those still looking for a group can contact Lontra for some match-matching support.
We’ve seen more chatter on the Qel-Droma channel this month, and more importantly - seen some new faces as well. It’s been a pleasure to get to know each of you, your characters, and your food preferences. It feels like several of you have come out of your shell and it's a boon to us in the summit. If you ever feel stuck on starting a topic feel free to mention Dresden Files, Mechwarrior, or why blueberries are only good baked in things and you’ll find a friend in your fellow HQDers.
Shout out to Grycym for crushing it this month. In one month he’s obtained a promotion, a society rank up, and a merit award all in 30 days - a feat like this deserves recognition. From henceforth, like the great Gordie Howe, we shall honour him with a hattrick of his own name: The Grycym Hattrick.
Shout out to Nicfer for also being a champ this month and rolling through the Shadow academy. My inbox has been filled with exams and I love seeing this. Keep up the good work!
For anyone wondering how to get into house fictions/lore, make your way into this section and see yourself in the house fiction. It’s that simple!
The leaderboard will move to a quarterly report, so expect to see that in next month's report!
The idea here is that as you organically tackle competitions and activities, your efforts will contribute to a leaderboard. The winner of that leaderboard, each quarter, will be awarded a fictional item called the Blind Key. The Blind is cool and should be a coveted commodity because it’s basically a universal omni-key for all of Port Ol’val. That means unfretted access to any building or business.
Contrary to popular belief, it is not named after Eleceos because he won it so many times. We will still continue to make blind jokes at the Miraluka expenses since we seem to collect them (hi Revs).
We’ve even been in talks to have it grant some unique privileges to exclusive suites on Hod Haran’s Folly . (This is how we test to see if Bog is reading our reports).
Usually we’d use this section to highlight competitions that are running that we think you should check out. You can always do this yourself by going to the Competitions tab on the main website.
That said, we wanted to remind everyone about our Guide to Season 1, Chapter 2 which covers the competitions that are running, and the best way to tackle the “easier” ones that are less time consuming first, freeing you up to spend time on the competitions you might want to put a bit more effort into with the time given.
We have just over 2 months left, so while there’s no rush, it’s nice to know there’s a plethora of events you can tackle!
Remember, doing even just 1 single event, like the button push, is a huge contribution to the clan’s performance. At the end of the season, we have a chance to get extra credit payouts if we do well, which means more shiny things for us to buy!
Voidbreaker II Wiki - Several updates have been made to the Voidbreaker II wiki page, including the tidying of the Roster tables to better conform with the standard tables used throughout numerous DJB wiki pages (they also just look prettier). The Rooms assignment table has likewise been updated, which has the added benefit of making it far easier to edit for future additions!
If anyone has questions regarding working on their character wikis, feel free to ask. I’ve kind of dove headlong into updating all my character wikis recently, and it is an annoying project, haha. With it being fresh on my mind, I know not everyone is comfortable doing wiki work, and I am more than happy to offer tips and tricks on how to throw your own together!

Thanks for tuning in to our first joint report. We will be releasing this on a monthly basis, and are open to any feedback you might have. Feel free to reach out to us on Discord, email, carrier pigeon or whatever you’re comfortable with!

Good report!
Very nice!
All Arconans are granted special access and privileges on the Folly, with about the only restricted access being to Alex's personal estate. And if he finds out the Blind Key is granting access to that, Alex is breaking his boot off in Zig's ass (cause he knows who would've set it up).
He does read!!!
Zig has left the chat
haha the meme game is on point, good job Wally!
