Night Hawks Report #2

header

Hi guys,

I'm hoping for a short report this time that will cover several a couple of categories:

  • News (Inferno ends, Justicar change, Celebration Store, Awards and Accomplishments)
  • Current Competitions (Runon, Puzzle, May the 4th, Others)

News

Inferno is over. Marka Ragnos really kicked butt in this one. I got first place, Koji got second, and overall we produced 123 points! Unfortunately, if you break it down into just the membership of the Night Hawks vs Disciples of Dakhan, we had 64 points and they had 74. Fortunately, no one kept track of that except me.

Still! This is something to think about for the future. HSD has a bunch of newbies. We want them to feel good about being here and all, but we also need to show them how it's done! So I hope in the next event, ya'll will enjoy winning with me, so its impossible for me to find a negative statistic!

Regardless, I really enjoyed Inferno, and I hope those of you who participated did as well. If you have any strong opinions either way about it, I would like to know. I will be running my own events, and even though it is my responsibility as Summit to envision and create the content, it is always good to know what the people that content is for thought of previous things.

In other news, Aexod has won both of his matches in the Brotherhood Gaming League (BGL)Round One for Hearthstone. His record is actually 2-1, but as he informed me, he's undefeated in matches he actually participated in, so that's great. I like winners. I think everyone probably likes winning. And I love it when a Night Hawk is winning, so keep it up Aexod! If he continues on to win this in the finals, it will be his second BGL victory, after defeating me in the finals for Heroes of the Storm round one.

Varuk's also doing well. He knocked out two Savants recently, for Tactics, as well as Writing and Philosophy. I think he might have his eyes set on that Sith Sword you get for mastering the SA, but I wanted to give him a shoutout because those courses are not easy. (I never actually got the Writing degree, myself…)

Seals of Loyalty were awarded for May the 4th. These awards, given out only twice a year, are chosen by Clan Summit and limited in quantity. The awardee is someone who has shown outstanding loyalty to the club in their dedication to making it a great place, and this time Seals go to Koji,. Evelynn, and Muz. We had three because Muz was nominated by the Star Chamber. He must be doing something right to be recognized by them in such a manner!

We've also had a shake up on the DC recently. Jac has stepped down as Justicar and Dacien Victae (better known as Bubba) has become the next Justicar. I don't want to get wordy, but I have to say that what Jac did for the club as Justicar has been amazing. He led in a complete overhaul of the Covenant (which was extremely transparent with Summit as well as regular members), and he expertly and logically executed the responsibilities of the position. My first thought upon his announcement was wondering who the heck could replace him.

Dacien seems pretty solid, though, so hopefully that goes well.

There are also some open positions around the club right now. Drac is looking for a Praetor and Magistrate for gaming stuff. Dacien is looking for a new Left Hand of Justice. And Arcona wants a new Quaestor. (As much as I'd like to snark and stuff here, I do have to admit they're a good Clan.)

Finally, there are only like, two days left to buy stuff from the Celebration Store(https://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/stores/celebration-store). There's a bunch of unique stuff based on various well-known characters. I think most of you have probably already made purchases, but I wanted to put a reminder here since it closes "around" the 7th and won't be back for a year!

That's all I've got for news. If I missed anything, my excuse is simply that I didn't want to make this too long. But let me know anyway so I can talk about it later!

Competitions

I want to give a brief overview of what's running right now. I'm just going to highlight a few specific competitions. Mainly: the ones I'm running, a major one running for the DJB, and a few run by CNS members. Let me know if I missed yours!

The Herald is running a series of May the 4th competitions, and these are a good chance for some high level crescents. Additionally, the overall winner will get a set of custom robes. If you don't have them yet, and want them, this might be your opportunity. These end on the 7th, so there's not a lot of time left, but still plenty to place.

I've also launched the first Master of Puzzles(https://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/competitions/13758) competition. This is the first in a four part series. It's only 50 pieces because I wanted you to be able to focus on winning and not how frustrating a puzzle could be. It looks like there's already one entry! It This first round goes until the 12th and its just for HMR, so even if Malik enters, he can't win.

The Runon I launched is still open for another 16 days until the 21st. It hasn't taken off, so maybe this isn't everyone's style at the moment, but it would be cool to do some writing with ya'll and there's still plenty of time.

DarkHawk is running this competition called Words to Remember for CNS. It's a voice competition, where you talk. Out loud. It'd be great to see a Night Hawk win it.

Last, but not least, our Rollmaster, Tasha is running two competitions. The first is called The Collective have arrived! and the second is her current Black Guard competition: To Become a Blackguard. You have to be Equite 2 or lower ranked to place in it. We still have some of those right? (You're all Elders in my heart.)

End

And that's it! That was a lot considering that it has not been all that long since my previous report. If you feel I missed something (or you just want to talk), let me know. I'm an open book. Or I have an open door. One of those.

Or leave a comment below this. Point out my mistakes in public. I'm cool with it. :P

Locke

The masters of puzzles, someone beat Reiden! Not sure if he can participate, but if so look out. Anyhow keep up the great work!

I like the report. I like the spirit of it and I hope to see more shiny, great things from the team and the House. Woot. :)
