Chaos. That was the only word to describe it. Death had come to the Phantom Complex, the once safe refuge for Qel-Droman forces had devolved into a warzone. The screams of the dying and the ringing of blaster fire echoed through the blood drenched halls as the remaining occupants struggled to hold out against the onslaught of the bloodthirsty gangsters.

As Juliane sprinted through the carnage and mayhem, she could scarcely contain her manic glee. A crazed glimmer shone through her eyes and her mouth stretched into a wild grin. A single thought rang through her mind as explosions violently rocked the complex around her.

Heaven. Bliss and Heaven.

It was pure mania, unrestrained passion, the loss of control amidst unbridled discord. The clanging of metal upon metal, the ringing of countless detonations, the smell of burning flesh, the heat of flames nearly searing her flesh as she rushed past their hungry caress.

It was like a beautiful symphony, each death rattle, every pained scream, all individual notes coming together to create...

Perfection.

Anger. Fear. Hate. Awe. Arousal. A million emotions untold pumped through her veins like the sweetest of drugs. The knowledge of how close she was to oblivion, to The End, was like the gentle caress of a star crossed lover, finally close enough to embrace.

As the chaos roared around her, she sunk into the flow of it and lost herself...

The scorched and bloody corpses of the weak lay scattered before the band of cutthroats. The forces stationed within the hidden complex had crumbled before their might.

Blaster fire, thermal detonations, flame, vibroblades; these things had brought ruin upon their enemy, ripping apart all who stood before them and striking terror into their hearts. The assault had left them in disarray and struggling to hold mere inches of their prized territory.

As the survivors struggled to mount a defensive, the bloodthirsty gangsters could help but howl in laughter at feeble gesture against the destruction that had come to consume them.

Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.

The invaders stood for but a moment, relishing in the heat of the fire and molten metal, the wafting stench of flesh seared down to the bone, and the screams of those unfortunates who had found themselves discovered by another band of their brothers in the distance.

Satisfied, the one who seemed to be in charge motioned forward for his men to move ahead. There were many more remnants scattered hopelessly across the complex, and they would not be finished until every last one had shuddered their last dying breath.

They never saw her coming.

With the ferocity of a Rancor, she crashed down upon them. Lunging with a mad howl of laughter, her violet lightsaber ablaze, the first of the thugs felt the searing pain tear through his midsection before he even knew what was happening.

Yelling in rage, they aimed their blasters, but her inhuman speed had laid two more low before they even got a chance to draw a bead and fire.

Shots fired out of their chamber, missing the Maurader by centimeters as she quickly dashed to the side. Their futile efforts only driving them to further rage.

She kept toward her next kill, his blaster pointed at her skull. And she knew this could be it.

Bliss. Bliss and Heaven

As his finger began to pull on his trigger and her blade came to his neck, a blast rang through the hall. Juliane found herself flung through flames and durasteel. As her head cracked against the far wall all fell into blackness.

Bright. That was the first thing she noticed as her mind came back to the world. A bright shining light above her. Opening her eyes a sharp pain shot through her head, and she reached up to clutch it, gasping in agony.

Feeling something move with her arm, she forced herself to look down. Various tubes extended from her arm, bring liquids into her veins.

Looking around the white room, her mind unfogging, she realized where she was.

A medbay. I'm on a medbay

Looking up to the large light above her. She thought back to what had happened. What had brought her here. There was the attack, bodies everywhere and ... an explosion? But ....

And then her wondering stopped. And she began to laugh.

"Almost." She laughed to herself. "Almost."

Jurdan brushed off the dust that had fallen on his armor after the explosion inside the temple corridors. He had been running away from possessed men from Tarentum. The lights was now gone with the tunnel collapsing in on itself. Jurdan ignited his purple blade and followed the remaining path forward. It was a maze of tunnels in this old temple. He figured they had wanted to confuse any who would enter to try and loot the artifacts that were in the treasure vault, if one existed. They knew at least one thing survived. This artifact had been reported as a two horned Sith Helmet. It had been imbued with powers to possess the living with the spirits of those who died here in this temple, whether by natural cause or by sacrifice.

Jurdan followed the winding tunnels until he reached a central chamber where a group of five possessed men and women were standing. They were facing an altar that had one more being standing there facing it. The being had on the Sith helmet. “He must be the leader of the group,” Jurdan thought to himself. The hum of his lightsaber attracted the attention of the people in the hall. Blasters were raised in his direction and they were just as quickly firing in his direction. The air, which was already thin, was quickly filled with the smell of laser blasts. The air burned a bit as Jurdan inhaled it. He deflected the blasts into nearby walls and back towards the ones firing. A few of the blasts hit their mark on the being who had shot at him first.

Jurdan ran towards the group and quickly sliced left and right cleaving the heads off of the two remaining possessed men. They had been good troops and now they were gone forever. It was a shame to say the least. The final being turned and chuckled at Jurdan. He made a hand gesture as if taunting the Sith Battlemaster. Jurdan lunged at the man and sliced through his chest. The blade didn’t hit anything however. It had phased right through him. Jurdan stretched out his hand and let loose all sorts of lightning at the target and hit the wall opposite the being. It was no use. This being was a ghost through and through. He took one last effort and swung his blade at the Sith helmet. It struck! The helmet took damage and the being faded for a short second. Jurdan launched another attack and sliced the helmet into two pieces. It fell to the ground and the being disappeared. Jurdan received a communication from outside of the temple. All the possessed beings had been returned to their senses.

“Lord Drol, do you copy? I repeat, Lord Drol do you copy…? LORD DROOOOOOL!”

Kul skewered yet another Geonosian flapping its wings in pained retreat while fiddling with his commlink. It was bad enough the insects were swarming all over everything, but the stream of reports and cacophony of reinforcement requests were becoming annoyingly incessant, as well.

“This is Drol.”

He backed behind the line of troopers pelting the bugs with blaster fire. It was the third offensive in the past hour, pricking at the lines to try and create holes for them to blitz through to the Pinnacle. So far the forces spread throughout the city had maintained a steady hold. The problem was the bugs seemed to never stop coming.

“Lord Drol, thank the stars. The Geonosians have managed to break through and gain a position within the Anchorage. If they break through there they can have free reign within the Pinnacle. We only have some skeleton defense squads positioned there while the others are out fighting. We need your squad to head there and prevent them from gaining entry.”

Kul sighed, taking in the smoke rising like dark pillars of some long-forgotten Sith temple and the frantic cries of battle around him. This wasn’t the type of training he had hoped to accomplish during his rest from a mission. The bugs were not even a threat in physical combat considering their main strength was found in the maneuverability from their wings and those weird blasters they carried. Still, even though Kul would prefer to keep taking the fight to them, he knew the insects were persistent and given time they could eventually threaten the Pinnacle.

“I’m on my way. What’s the status on the strike teams? Has anyone found the Queen yet?”

“No current locations as of yet, but that is part of your mission, my lord. When you reach the Anchorage, rendezvous with Lieutenant Garviz and his squad. Then you must push. Push hard. We have multiple units attempting to find the Queen but they need distractions, so squads around the Pinnacle are going to draw their attention. The Dread Lord expects results, my lord. Good luck.”

With that his com grew quiet again and the sounds of the battle pulled his attention. He knelt beside the squad sergeant who was directing the attack with the other unit officers. With a quick command, his Umbra squad was quickly rounded up in his shuttle and soaring in the direction of the Anchorage, with the spires of the Pinnacle rising high above.

Upon reaching the Anchorage, Kul found the units defending it to be running around as if all order was gone. He almost stopped and grabbed the closes trooper, but he realized they were all hustling to place debris in front of the large doorway blocking passage from the hallway outside.

So this is where we stand?

The room they were protecting had a shallow ceiling, which would deprive the Geonosians their precious flight room. Whoever had chosen this spot had been thinking clearly. The Zabrak grabbed a trooper as he ran by. Seeing a superior officer, the soldier tried to salute but the weighty paraphernalia prevented it. Instead he bowed slightly.

“My lord. Apologies for not being able to salute you. How may I help?”

Kul skirted the room with eyes. A small group of troopers and an officer of indiscernible rank were huddled around a makeshift table discussing something. He pointed in their direction.

“Is that who’s in charge here?”

The soldier nodded, albeit hesitatingly at first.

“Aye, sir. That’s Sergeant Fikkosta. She’s in charge since Lieutenant Garviz fell.”

Kul swore under his breath.

“The Lieutenant’s dead? Unfortunate…Fikkosta you say? That’s an Iridonian name.”

Curiosity duly peaked, Kul ordered his mean to assist as needed before marching towards the rickety table. As some of the troopers noticed his arrival they began to stand at attention, a chain reaction of the same going around until the Sergeant was stood saluting, as well. Much to his surprise, the Sergeant was indeed Zabraki. She was a full head shorter than he and still had the glow of youth about her, but even in uniform he could tell she was a warrior. Her stance, while deferent to his rank, left few openings for attack. With a light crimson complexion and high cheek bones, she was quite attractive by his peoples’ standards. He allowed his gaze to linger a second longer before nodding to them all.

“At ease. I’m not one for extreme protocol, and we have an enemy to defeat. So, Sergeant Fikkosta, what’s the current situation?”

Not used to dealing with the Force Users of Plagueis directly, the sergeant had to clear her throat of her unexpected nervousness and let training take over.

“Well, my Lord…”

Kul noticed the trailing question and glanced up from the array of schematics on the table before him.

“Drol. I have my Umbra squad with me as well.”

“…my Lord Drol,” she continued. “To be completely frank with you, we are ua slari na onis.”

The Shadow picked at the bindings of his gauntlets while he watched the emotions swirling behind her (distractingly opalescent, he realized) eyes. He could sense strength and conviction of purpose; this soldier would do her duty trained in the ways of Iridonia and the Plagueis war machine, but she could not shroud the inklings of fear that permeated the room.

“My lord. A massive group of bugs has infiltrated the facility and are heading this way. Lieutenant Garvis and some men managed to slow their advance, but it ultimately cost him his life and now we are stuck here with orders to go on the offensive.” She swept an arm over the schematics. “If we hold them here then they cannot get access to the turbolifts or the small hangar nearby. But an all out offensive seems pointless with our numbers. Why not hold until the hunter units find the Queen?”

Kul leaned on the table, careful to not break it under the pressure, and swept his gaze to each of the faces around him before stopping on Fikkosta.

“This group, along with a few others, have been ordered to attack in order to draw the attention of the hive away from the hunter units. If they think we are the assault, then the units in the caves have a better chance of passing through and getting to the Queen when she sends more troops up here. We are going to attack, and that’s an order. But I’m not letting you all perish here. We will—“

Kul was cut off as the large blastdoor reverberated with a large boom, as if some hulking beast had thought to open it with its head. A trooper manning a scanner shouted “They’re here!” just before the feed was cut and another crash erupted from the other side. Kul watched with an approving gaze while the sergeant moved diligently and placed her troopers in position for the coming threat. He soon followed suit, waving Umbra squad into whatever holes they could find. The sound of blasters priming filled the room, and then it became eerily quiet except for the thumping of whatever was trying to force entry. Kul took up a position near Fikkosta, one hand waiting on his saber. As they both watched the blastdoor tremble time and again, he spoke out of the corner of his mouth.

“You were right, Sergeant. We are between life and death.” He turned to face her with a grin on his face. “But it would be boring otherwise, yes?”

Malice could hear the chaos coming from down below. Looking out the window to her room, Geonosians and long forgotten droids angrily buzzed around, trying to get inside. She had no doubt that they would overcome in this fight, but she didn't want to risk her family. Going back to packing, she was throwing diapers and other infant necessities into a bag for Auxil to take. Two ice packs ensured that the bottles she added would be kept cold, but she packed formula as well just in case. The protocol droid knew how to make bottles. They were the best at caring for Ora.

"Auxil, you know what time she goes to bed. Don't let my mother keep her up later than her bedtime. I'd prefer she sleep on the ship, just to make sure she doesn't return with fleas. However, if she does, you know how to take care of them, so do that as quickly as you can. Aiya and I don't need an outbreak."

"Of course, Lady Malice."

Glancing down at Ora, the child clearly had no idea the possible danger she was in, for she gurgled calmly and sucked on one of her feet.

"Edward, Mortem, Imp," she started, "you'll be coming with me again. Everyone else, I want you to follow Alexa to Kalon's ship. He's likely out fighting, but I want you to take Ora to Cholganna. Our family there has met her before, and they should know Kalon's ship by now. You'll be safe there."

She bent to Ora's level while the rest of the droids scrambled to get everything ready to go.

"Mama is going to help clean up this mess," she cooed, "She's going to kill all of those nasty bugs, and then I'll make a mobile from their wings and you can watch it as you sleep."

Standing to her full height again, Malice watched as Alexa carefully lifted the child carrier and the droids who weren't fit for this level of fighting hurried out.

Turning to everyone who was left, she quickly attached her weapons to her belt before starting to speak.

"Everyone here was on the team that went to check out the caves that these vermin live in. Even though most of you stood guard outside, you saw the information as we were bringing it back. The droids, you should have no problems with. They're old, and you all overpower them with just your arms. The Geonosians, however, you should be more careful of. They can fly around and avoid your weapons and maybe even your tracking. However, if you aim and shoot for their wings, they'll be forced to land and they'll be swept up in the chaos. Imp?"

The droid stood at attention at the mention of its name.

"You've got the best tracking system. You'll be in charge of downing them, alright?"

"Understood,"

"Then Edward and Mortem can come in and stab or burn them up. Directions understood?"

"Affirmative."

She nodded, content with their answers.

"Aiya, you'll be with me."

The Nexu huffed, likely knowing full well where she'd be."

"Alright, it's time to do this. Let's clear this scum away from our home."

The young wookiee sighed. His robust physicality usually interfered with his more intricate, intellectual profession. But ever since he was injured during the attack, Kelviin realized how often he relied on his strength to accomplish his goals. This experience would only make him a better engineer, once he had healed. So what was really bothering him?

Master had tried to explain why the attack happened in the first place. There were so many people Kelviin hadn’t met outside his happy little space-family, and so many problems between those people. Now somebody above all of them didn’t want Kelviin to be there, all because he wasn’t a human. Arcona made Kelviin feel at home for the first time in his life, yet at the same time he was violently unwanted. He had seen friends die for the first time, and he couldn’t help but feel like it was his fault.

Kelviin regularly visited his master in the medical bay. It hurt so much to see his mentor and role model in pain, and unable to keep up with her life. He had only ever known her to be flitting between control panels and datapads, juggling entire lives and identities while still making room for Kelviin’s silly, basic needs. Now she lay there like a broken piece of machinery, and for once he didn’t know how to fix it.

The Wookiee sighed again, letting his datapad slide to the floor. His pet rancor wriggled through the flap in the door, struggling for a moment to fit through, before licking Kelviin’s dangling paw. He chuckled and ruffled its scales. Sometimes just trying is all the help somebody needed. He decided that he should go visit master again.

At some point during the trip, Kelviin took a wrong turn (though “wrong” was relative, as he had never been able to find his way directly to Zujenia’s medical station to begin with). Corridors just weren’t as good for landmarks as the foliage he grew up in. This time, he found himself walking through rows of a new type of patient, people he didn't recognize from the recent attack. These all seemed to be in great pain, suffering from some type of infection. Outside the room, medics sealed in special suits sprinted by. Kelviin walked out into the hallway, and a medic shouted, “Oh god, one of the Selen crew escaped!”

The medic looked closer at the wookiee and realized he wasn’t immediately dying. Were Wookiees somehow immune to whatever seemed to be infecting the humans?

Several medics gathered around to examine Kelviin, while he in turn examined their silly suits. “You’re right, the pathogen isn’t taking hold! Is it just this one, or all wookiees?”

Wrrgg, Kelviin growled in confusion.

“That’s a damn good question, and something we might need to know as soon as possible.”

The medics guided Kelviin to a contained chamber. None of them spoke Shyriiwook, so they assumed they had to rely on body language. Kelviin didn’t know where they were taking him, but knew they seemed like good people, albeit very stressed in general and intimidated by him. Kelviin held the nearest medic’s hand. The medic froze with fear, remembering all the dismemberment stories he’s heard, and decided he better act calm and go with it.

“I’m sorry, gentlemen, I can’t give you a clear answer,” explained the lead medic, after examining the Wookiee.

“But we can clearly see the antibodies at work. I’d say that if we find a Wookiee engineer, I can compare their blood samples and tell you for certain if he can safely enter the room where the air purification system-”

“GWRRRRRRGHGLL,” interrupted Kelviin.

The medics jumped back while his datapad translated in a robotic monotone:

Kelviin suddenly felt useful again, and pranced off down the hall, causing delicate instruments to rattle against the walls.

The medics glanced at each other and realized they were all going to die.

Scary Spooky Ghosts Run Everywhere Attacking Chaotic Madness

Jurdan looked to his left, and then he looked to his right. Everywhere he looked there were Sadowans and Tarenti bodies on the ground. Not only was the smell of blaster fire in the air but the smell of death was there too. He looked towards the temple entrance as he saw friendly forces being attacked by other friendly forces. No. Were they friendly? The spectres were possessing the forces of Naga Sadow and Tarentum. The men who were possessed moved a bit slower and it seemed like their bodies were not controlled very well. Arms were flailing in the air and they walked with limps.

Jurdan held his ignited lightsaber at the ready and directed a push towards the entrance of the temple. There was one man standing in the doorway wearing a horned helmet. He seemed to be directing the horde in the battle. He was not a normal man. His skin was a sickly gray as if he had not seen the sun in hundreds of years. He had a very ill look and he was missing an eye. Jurdan knew that he would have to get to this man and try to destroy him and this helmet. He could sense an aura about the helmet. This had to be the answer.

The new Shar Dakhan Aedile leapt into battle like a razor cat attacking its prey. The lightsaber was his teeth and claws and he knew how to use them. Several friendlies were engaged in hand to hand combat. He ran through them slicing and stabbing the ones who had become the undead. Their lifeless husks fell to the ground and the spirits that had inhabited them rose up and tried to possess more of the non force users in the immediate area. It was easier for them to take over an untrained and distracted mind over that of a Sith or Gray Jedi.

The corpse leader of the dead towered over the rest of the walking dead. He pointed towards Jurdan as he approached. The Battlemaster deflected a couple of possessed beings to the side with a couple swift kicks. He lunged directed at the leader of this army of the possessed and swiped at him with his lightsaber. The man quickly turned into a spirit and then back into a solid again. Jurdan didn’t know how to handle this. While in the ghost form he realized that the helmet was still solid and real. He attacked the spectre again and again. The being kept phasing into a ghostly form as if leaving their plane of existence. He stretched out his hand towards the being and shot lighning from his fingertips. He watched as the lightning forked and weaved and hit the helmet off of the spectre’s head. He watched as it faded but he could still sense him near. Jurdan ran up to the helmet and quickly ran his lightsaber blade through it cutting it in half and melting the metal. The possessed beings started to win control of their bodies back and soon there were no spectres left.

The fighting went on, People were being possessed, They were losing the light of the son, Who was who needed to be assessed.
