Dante yawned as he sat in the command chair of his newly purchased Decimator. Although he wanted something a bit less conspicuous, Kell figured that his next ship would be something Corellian so that he could move to and fro within the galaxy proper a bit more easily than in an Imperial ship. Sadly, the destruction of the Cocytus System had left the Dante family more in need of a battle worthy ship. Especially now that the clan was embarking on a new mission of taking over a new system to serve as their home base of operations.

With his 3 person crew, Kell had decided to go on a long range scouting mission instead of lurking around the new system that Scholae was working on taking over through infiltration and subterfuge. He didn't really like the idea of all of this sneaking around to accomplish their goals, and he had advocated for more of a diplomatic or even military solution to the problem of a new home for the clan.

Scouting around the edges of the system was a great way for the senior officer to relieve some stress and get to know his new aide and bodyguard better. Lounging in the captain’s chair that he had installed, Kell looked over at Ferraro and said “So… anything new on Pravus coming through the rumor mill?”

Sitting at one of the gunner positions, the older man responded with “Not really. There was a bit of chatter saying that he had gone off on another search for some artifact.”

Major Guili, his new pilot who just transferred over from a special Intelligence unit, looked over her shoulder and piped in with “So, the leader of the Brotherhood who just wiped the Cocytus System out of existence is missing, and you’re upset about it?”

Dante chuckled slightly and looked over at his new bodyguard, Buk Rojers, who just glowered a bit and turned his head back towards the sensor console. “C’mon, Buk… what are your feelings on the subject?”

The Kiffar just shrugged his shoulders and said “If the Grand Master wishes to be left alone then that is why he established the Dark Council to rule in his absence.”

Dante nodded and said “That is kind of how I feel. I also am planning on personally taking of Blade when I see her next time. Her involvement in all of this led to the destruction of our system… Damn Excidium… Leftovers from Caliburnus…”

Ferraro smiled and said “Your dad and you both hated the Cali’s…. I never understood it since we weren’t around them that much on Judecca, but Angelo really took it to heart all those years ago.”

“Well, it was personal. At least I get along with Ras these days. I just think we are about to end up in another large scale effort. This Lotus thing is starting to get out of hand, and I’m not sure where we’ll end up since the Iron Throne has gone after just about every clan now. It could be a free for all or at least three sides going after the Throne,” said Kell as he stood up from the command chair and looked out at the view of deep space. “Let’s go take a look at Ulress… we might find something to do there.”

“That isn’t in our flight plan, Field Marshal,” responded Guili as she pulled up the flight charts.

A laugh erupted from Ferraro, but he kept quiet as Dante gave him a look.

“Fine…. Plot a looping course that will bring us just past Balaerion and then back through the system. We can stop off at Ulress on the way home,” said an annoyed Kell as he went back over to his chair and plopped down.

It had been a very busy few weeks since Hyle's arrival on Kiast. Most of that had on introductions, to this new life, to his new companions and this clan, and to the ways of the Force. The vision that had haunted him for years seem to have subsided somewhat thanks to the medidation. Somehow learing it from a person rather than a book or recording made it, if not easier, then more effective.

Perhaps it was The Force that had drawn him to this region of space, or perhaps it was coincidence, but he was here now, and he had to admit, he was looking forward to the challenge of learning new skills to earn his keep in a new and unfamiliar environment. He couldn't remember the last time he'd spend so long on any one planet, even if technically, The Village wan't on the surface of this planet.

Reluctantly, he cleared these assorted musings from his mind and focused, trying to establish a connection with the Force. He wasn't sure why but he was certain someone was in the room with him. Strange, he hadn't heard the door open or shut.

"Is this to test if I can still concentrate with distractions?" Hyle asked, wryly. There was no response, not even the shuffling of feet, but he was sure that someone was behind him. He was on his feet in an instant, arms up and feet apart. There was no one there. Maybe he still more distracted by events than he'd care to admit.

He sat back down on the hard mat floor and centred himself one more. Again there was the feeling of this presence looming over him. Although he didn't respond, the feeling of another presence in the room was too distracting.

Perhaps he might have more luck in more natural surroundings. He made his way to the gate of the compound, and started ambling towards the waterfront, barely registering that it was now night, and that the compound itself seemed completely deserted.

He sat down on the decking overlooking the lake. It was completely still, not a ripple of wind or water.

"You are looking for inner piece." A voice said, deep, sonorous, with a strange echo. "And you're not helping." "No, but if you let me, perhaps I will."

He hauled himself to his feet and saw the being that was standing next to him.

He (at least it sounded like a he) was bigger than any sentient being Hyle had ever seen. In size, he resembled a collossal beast of burden, but there was comething more ape like about the carriage and posture. There was also something else which he couldn't quite identify. It wasn't the appearance, but there was something strange, and yet familiar.

Concentrating, Hyle reached out with the Force. "You have questions, and you look to the Force for knowledge." "So you know of the Force. Are you Jedi, Sith?" "I am neither of Ashla, nor Bogan." Those words. Ancient terms referring to the Light and the Dark.

"The Jedi and the Sith strive for order, but their visions of order are at odds."

"Hence, conflict." Hyle said. "Hence conflict." The creature agreed. "But even were it not for the inevitability of conflitct, the order of the Sith and the Jedi are doomed." "Why? Corruption? Hubris?" "Ignorance." "What I know of the Jedi and the Sith is that they have always sought knowledge." "But to what end? They acquire knowledge for its use to their cause." "So what, they're weakness is that they don't seek knowledge for its own sake?" "Igorance is a choice. They care more for their goals than truth." "Which is?" "That truth must be accepted as well as learned."

"And the first to learn and accept the truth will have their vision of order vindicated?" "Again, you think in terms of conflict." "And?" "And conflict is the bane of order." "But Jedi and Sith visions of order cannot be reconciled, history has proven that." "Why?" "What?" "Why can their visions not be reconciled." "They are based on opposing principles." "And in what other ways are the Sith and Jedi opposed." "One follows the Dark Side, the other, the Light." "And that is why their principles oppose each other, everything they strive for is in opposition, because their beliefs oppose each other."

"So we can avoid conflict and achieve order by challangenging our beliefs, by learning and accepting the truth. What truth? The futility of conflict? That conflict is based on a false premise? "And what is that premise?" "I don't know, that the other premise is false?" "So you do know." "Wait, so Jedi and Sith are both wrong because they believe the other side is wrong?" "And what do the Jedi and Sith believe? "That the turn to the other side of the Force represents corruption? Weakness? Failure? The the other side must be rejected? Suppressed?"

"And the choices they make?" "Choices? Like how ignorance is a choice?" "Yes." "So the Jedi and Sith made the choice of ignorance?" "Yes." "So what truth are they ignoring? The darkness within every Jedi? The light within every Sith? That these are a part of the force they can never truly purge from themselves?" "Yet they suppress it." "So what, they accept the truth of impurity within the force, within themselves? What then if not to suppress it or control it?"

"Control? Suppress? Oppose? Conflict is the bane of order." "So order depends on balance?" "So you have learened the truth. Can you accept it?" Hyle merely grunted before asking. "If you are neither Jedi or Sith, where did you learn this, who are you?" "I am Bendu."

The witch priestess is a glimpse of death.
Her body pierced my eyes with sorrow. Her sexy curvaceous figure brought pain to it's knees. Her eyes resembled winter at it's coldest moments. She stood in a puddle of blood, the blood dripped down her fingers and rolled off her cheeks down her chin, onto the floor. Her blades were sharper than razors. She was barely clothed, when I looked into her eyes, I saw my life flash before me. She could kill you with her words. She was a creature of lust, denizen of men. Her touch made me shiver.

Sparks from destroyed electrical panels briefly lit the interior of the shuttle as Dante slowly regained consciousness. "Ugh... What the..." the trooper moaned to himself as he looked around.

The attack on the ship had been an ambush once they had come out of hyperspace and descended into the atmosphere. "Guess the natives aren't as friendly as Xen made them out to be," he muttered as he unstrapped himself from the crash seat.

Looking around, he realized that there wasn't much left of the Lambda shuttle that was now crumpled up around him. Luckily, Dante had decided to ride out the cash from the rear compartment instead of the cockpit as that was now a massed up piece of scrap. Unluckily, the rest of the crew had been in there along with most of the survival supplies.

As he looked around for the closest hatch, it soon became clear that he was underwater as the effects of the crash began to wear off. Water was beginning to seep into the shuttle, and it wouldn't be too long until it was full.

Reaching out with the Force, Kell could discern that the craft wasn't sinking so it was probably on the sea floor, and the faxt that the pressure hadn't crushed both the shuttle and the Obelisk yet was a good sign that he wasn't that deep Bellow the surface.

After taking stock of what he had with him, it wasn't much than than his weapons. Dante clicked his comm on just to see if it would work, but no response came to his alarm mode. "Guess I will just have to get out of here first. Time to go for a swim."

The Obelisk strapped his gear on and swam over to the remains of the airlock. As the ship filled with water the pressure began to equalize, and, once it filled the airlock, Kell gave the door a helping hand with the Force. Exiting the shuttle, Dante looked up and saw the sun a less than 30 meters above. Slowly making his way up, Dante also controlled his body to avoid decompression sickness.

Finally he reached the surface to find debris scattered on the water. Spotting a large piece of a wing like, Dante swam over to it and climbed aboard. Looking up at the sky, the sun was just starting to set as the soldier hit the rescue beacon. The waves were gentle as he waited, and Kell pulled out his father's ID tags that he always wore around his neck. Looking at the worn objects that had seen thousands of days of combat wear, Dante smiled at thought of his father and all that he had accomplished. A career. A family. A group of loyal friends. Kell had achieved all of these but one. New thoughts sprung up as he waited patiently for his ride to arrive.

Later that evening, lights appeared in the distance and began moving towards Kell's position. Soon, one of the LAAT's of the Imperial Scholae Guard hovered above his makeshift raft.

"Field Marshal! Grab the line!" shouted the crew chief of the assault transport as he threw the rescue harness. The waves began to get choppy as Kell grabbed the harness and put it around him. After less than a minute of hauling, the commander of the Imperial Scholae Guard was aboard and then on his way to the new base that they were building.

As he sat there drinking the caf that the crew chief had provided him, Kell pondered the fact that he had been retrieved plenty of times over the years, but this was a bit different. It made him think of his father, and it made him think of... Someone else. Clarity. Such a simple thing, but it appears at the strangest times.

Magik keeps himself pretty well occupied, for the most part, time to time. When he's not engaging in underground activities, he like to relax in a seculded place, he calls home. Far from the city and society. Home is where the heart is, and he keeps the mind at rest. The gettaway he calls home, is where he spends most of his free time. He gets most of his rest by day, pondering deep dark thoughts at night. Sheltered from sunlight, hidden in society. With an entrance to the city not far away, he longs for the shadows.

Magik prefers Winters over Summers, it is the cold air at Winter, when he is most comfortable. It is the long nights and short days, that he enjoys the most. Accompanied by his women, is when he is mist relaxed. She eases his mind and sooths his body. Days go by, business takes it's toll , but it is at night when he plays.

There on the depths of space Jedi Ranger Maximus Alvinius sat listening to the final communication between rescue forces from Clan Odan Urr answering his distress message sent out just ten minutes earlier. Three hours he heard was the timeframe it would take before reaching his location. This wasn’t as long as he had thought it would take after his recent rendezvous with Pirates just minutes earlier.

His adrenaline was still pumping and he could feel their physical presence with the uneasy shaking that still ran through his hands as he pressed the different indicators that would boost his oxygen levels while saving what precious energy his ship’s rescue systems had during engine failure.

At this point he knew there wasn’t much else to do, but sit and wait for rescue. Through his mind though he couldn’t help, but recall the action he had just been involved in during a surprise ambush by Pirates in this sector. How could he of not sensed the awaiting attack he thought, or the impending assault with the false stranded ship call they used to lure him in.

As a Jedi it was always their duty to assist any person in a time of distress. He was originally sent on this mission for a standard patrol of the sector in order to show a force of presence with the local planets and also seek to thwart any enemies looking to assault the system.

The cargo ship he came upon was innocent at best, but the manifest showed it carrying merchant supplies along with 20 civilian personnel in transit to their home world. The message stated the twenty year old cargo ship had suffered damage after a recent hyperspace jump that ended here where they encountered an astroid storm that had damaged part of the ship’s reactor core.

Maximus had been flying in the sector for thirty minutes prior and did witness the astroid storm. From afar and knew civilian ships might have been entangled in it’s grip. It was at this point he decided to seek for any ships needing help.

As he approached the astroid belt that had calmed in the minutes since the astroid storm he had encountered the distress call. Weaving in and out of the astroid he made his way over the course of the 150 km he had to cover to reach the broke down cargo ship. As he made his way there he was having a bit of fun remembering his old training days of flying in such areas. It was pure excitement at his finger tips.

Within minutes he approached the cargo ship and communicated his rescue efforts to help the ship would be soon engaged to help get the ship operational. It was in that moment when he was within 1km that 3 Pirate star fighters engaged him from positions within two astroids by the cargo ship.

He knew this fight could be won, but he had to utilize a bit of his piloting skills. Within seconds he was able to engage with a missile connecting to the first fighter approaching while utilizing evacise maneuvers to avoid the 3 missiles locked to him. Each striking a nearby astroid as he zoomed inside of it and out the other in.

Immediately on the other side one of the ships approached around his port side and another from his starboard side. Each fighter locked on as Maximus pressed full power towards the fighter to his left. This was a game of chicken he remembered from pilot school. As he plowed towards the fighter with it’s freshly launched missile coming at him he utilized anti locking flairs and 90 degree maneuver to launch his fighter above the missile and the ships zooming from the front and behind his position. In that moment he watched as the Pirates realized it was to late to avoid the incoming collision. He watched as the two missiles collided with both Pirates smashing into the engulfing flames and each other leaving nothing behind, but debris and fire.

He had his victory, but not before the blast had damaged his engine enough to disable his ship. While he was full of smiles from the victory, he was also full of confusion of how he did not recognize the Pirates impending ambush. This was something he would have a few hours to think about before his rescue party would arrive. He knew he needed to compile all possible scenarios for this illusion in order to take it back to his Clan for further investigation.

A chill bore through Dolash's risque tunic as he pulled the thin, translucent cloth tighter across his chest. He squinted his eyes against the dark upon the pale visage perched upon the low branch of his tree within the courtyard. The woman turned towards him, making eye contact. There was no chill that tickled his spine, but instead he was frozen by fear as he recognized that aura: unadulterated bloodlust. The spell was snapped as she began to giggle like a little girl and dropped from the branch to the ground. Dolash went to defend himself, but she was gone.

You embosom me, Nothing can hurt me no more, Safety you bring me.
