Odanites,

Another month is gone already. We have a lot of fun things for you all to do over the coming months as well as some more competition entry spotlights. I’m also happy to say that I’ve got a new clan fiction update for you all. There will also be a job announcement for those interested in clan leadership. The rest of this report will consist of the usual updates like project status etc. So let’s dive in and let me show you all the cool things we’ve been up to and plan to get into. :)

Clan Fiction Update!

Last we left off, the Great Jedi War had ended and we were heading back home to start our next adventures. As such, I’ve put together another fiction update to help bridge the gap between where we were and where we stand today. If you recall, I hinted before the GJW of things to come and it was a pleasure to write the next segment of its story for you all to read. Per the Odan-Urr way, it has plenty of callouts to those that helped Odan-Urr out during the war and to those that participated in the clan-wide fiction comps. :)

Pharos Station
Kiast System

“Fourteen days had passed since the end of the Great Jedi War and the hallways of Pharos station were more packed than usual, the arrivals from the war front crowding the spare room on the station. Some of the arriving Odanites had volunteered to double up in the residential blocks to help save room for the regular personnel who were busy with military drills. As such, the normally pristine and orderly OEF military station had taken in a certain lived in quality to it that drew the ire of some of the regularly stationed troops. Aura Ta’var listened patiently to the station’s commander sitting across her desk, synthetic lights marking the start of evening already.

“Ma’am, this is a military installation. I have civilians, mercenaries, and untrained staff everywhere. We told you about the military exercise months in advance. Can’t they go somewhere else?”

The High Councillor recalled her previous meeting earlier in the day, wherein representatives from those same temporary groups on the station had complained as well about the strict rules.

“Commander, no one is happy about this arrangement but it will end soon enough. Your exercise ends in a week, no?”

“Yes.”

“And they are going well dispute the additional station guests?”

“It could be better but we’ve somehow managed to stay ahead of schedule. Some of the guests have actually helped out with the logistics.”

“Oh?”

“Revak Kur and Ka Tarvitz. I’d like to give them a small token of my appreciation before they leave if you don’t mind.”

“I’m sure they’d love it. Go ahead and surprise them.” Aura paused for a moment. “Commander, I think I have a way to concentrate our guests and get them out of your hair for a while. I’ll need control of one of the residential blocks for a few days.”

“If you think it will work then by all means,” agreed the station commander, wondering what she would do.”

• Pharos station’s commander gets grumpy that his space station has become a hotel.
  
• Aura Ta’var promises she has a way to keep them mostly to one area but doesn’t tell him what. Later on she springs a massive party on him.

• Epic space battle with some interesting tactics involving mazes in rocks that should have worked but didn’t…Loose lips sink ships?
  
• Vatali Fleet wonders how the pirates knew so much and mourns the loss of brave starfighter pilots.
  

What happened to those that broke into Kiast before the war? Have the Quorahi tribes finally decided to unite? Who's behind these attacks? Where did the outsiders come from and what do they want? Expect Sunrider and the Clan to dig into this more. Revak Kur, our Quaestor, already has some competitions up for this. Check them out his fiction comp and his graphics comp. And remember that your entries help shape the story to come so I highly recommend you give these a try.

Rollmaster 2.0 Open for Applications (New Duties, New Opportunities)

Recently, Len Iode reached out to me that he needed a leadership break. (Fun fact, he’s been at this leadership thing for at least 3 years straight now.) With the completion of some of his projects, he has finally decided to step down and get some well-earned rest. During his tenure, he became a solid rock to depend on no matter what and I’m incredibly proud of his resilience. His contributions spanned a wide variety of tasks from helping new members all the way to helping plan the future of the Clan, and lots of stuff in between. In particular, Len Iode has always shown the ability to have a great moral compass and be a great advisor. If something was really wrong, you could count on Len Iode to bring it up and have a good discussion. As such, I would like you all to join me in thanking Len Iode for the many hours he dedicated to the club. Rollmaster isn’t always fully appreciated but know you made an impact on your Clan. Thank you for all you have done for us and thank you for being there through thick and thin. It’s one of the hardest things to do and I’ll always remember that. Odan-Urr will remember that.

That said, applications for the position of Rollmaster for Odan-Urr are now officially open DB-wide. But things are going to be a bit different this time around so pay attention. The position of Rollmaster has been and continues to be many different things to many different people. That said, from this point forward I’m defining the position of Rollmaster in very concrete terms from the start. It will be focused primarily on recruitment and the new member experience rather than the old definitions of the past.

The new duties include the following: (* denotes primary duty)

• Recruit new members to join Odan-Urr through targeted recruitment. (*)
  
• Acquaint new joins with the Website, to include a person 1v1 full tour of it.
  
• Become their first Odanite friend that introduces them to the rest of the Clan.
  
• Be a positive community role model, which also includes volunteering/participating in COU community events
  
• Help update clan history as required
  

There are no minimum rank requirements or prior leadership requirements. What I’m looking for is the energy and desire to bring new people into the club and make sure they have fun as they figure out their first steps in a much bigger world. Additionally, you will report directly to the Consul/Proconsul.

Fiction Survey

So, we have a clan fiction and some RM news. What’s coming up for the rest of this month? There are plenty of competitions, projects, and things to do. But I’d like everyone to get writing a bit more if you’re up to it and I’d like to help you find a writing buddy. Over the next few months, Odan-Urr is looking to do some group writing. If you are interested in developing your character more, making more IC friends, or writing with others, please let us know below and we'll find you a buddy!

Community Events

As you’ve seen in your inboxes, telegram, and discord, Odan-Urr has kicked back up its weekend events. We are constantly improving them as we go along and would love to see lots of people come join us at our events. Everyone from all Clans are invited. So far we’ve done gaming, trivia, and Cards against Humanity events, but we are looking to keep things fresh. Every week we announce the next set of events in advance and who to reach out to if you have any questions.

I highly recommend that you come join us and if you can’t make it, that’s okay. Grab a buddy, go do something together, and let the rest of us know if you’re open to more people. You might just get more friends to play with.
Also, we need some more event volunteers so if you think you can host an event a particular weekend, please reach out me. Hosters are highly appreciated and will be reflected on future shinies and promotions!!

Upcoming Plans

Now that November is underway there are a few things coming up I haven’t mentioned yet that I’d like you all to know about.

• We have planned out a bunch of house and clan events planned for you all over the next year. As we prepare for them we will be giving you all competitions to do to set up for them so make sure you give them a shot if you want to help shape the Odan-Urr storyline! Sunrider has a graphics competition and a fiction competition already released to do exactly this. Give it try even if its 500 words!
  
• Coalitions are going to get looked at again. We frankly have too many and I’d like us to be more focused with them. If you really love one of them, this is the time to let me know. I’ll be putting out a survey this month to get your feedback.
  
• Lastly, Odan-Urr has started its recruitment efforts. If you’d like to help with that and haven’t dm’d me already, please do. :)

Revak Asks: “If I'm pregnant with a litter of puppies... who is the father?”
Sa Ool followed up with a question about how many litters.

Aura: Revak can have as many litters as he wants. But they become his minions. If those minions decide to pull over a coup d’etat, that’s pretty much the best way to be usurped. Puppies everyone. As to the father, I leave that to Maury.
