Hoth QUA Report: Flashpoint Results

It’s been a busy time in House Hoth and Clan Odan-Urr. Since my initial report, I hit the ground running to launch Flashpoint with the House Sunrider Summit and search for an evil accomplice aedile. Now the role has been filled, the first phase of the event has drawn to a close, and we have a few weeks to breathe before what’s looming on the horizon.
The Pro Bowl starts in October. It will have a whole bevy of competitions in which you can vie for novae, crescents, and credits as part of the Rotworms (a.k.a. the cool kids) or the Frog-Dogs (a.k.a. the lame-os). I’m serious, there will be lots of opportunities to be active. As always, there’s a list of fun competitions below (including one of mine specifically relevant to House Hoth), but please pace yourself to avoid burnout.
In the meantime, Kadrol and I will focus on a couple projects. The official house fiction follow-up to Flashpoint Phase I will be coming down the pike soon. We’re also continuing to get house possessions in order and working in conjunction with the Clan Summit to develop a more interactive system for their use. And, of course, we’ll be putting together the pieces of Flashpoint Phase II.
Now, for the news you’ve been waiting for…
Flashpoint Phase I Results
I’m quite pleased with the turnout for Phase I of the Flashpoint event. The event saw 16 participants across 5 competitions running the gamut from the gaming, fiction, graphics, and roleplay activity pillars. A whopping 10 of those participants are in Hoth—that’s nearly two-thirds of the total participants and over half of the house membership roll. Way to go, House Hoth! Y’all rock!
Thank you to everyone who participated in this phase. As a reward, the characters of those who placed in the container competition will make an appearance in the next house fiction updates. A special congratulations to our top five:
- First Place: Edgar Drachen
- Second Place: Velira Morvane
- Third Place: Kadrol Hauen
- Fourth Place: Eeno
- Fifth Place: Tisto Kingang
We have two more phases of the event coming up in November after the Pro Bowl: a second chapter of the Flashpoint storyline followed by an epilogue phase that sets up our fictional direction for next year. Each will feature a variety of competitions in which your activity drives the plot.
It has been an unmitigated delight to work with the Summit of House Sunrider to plan and execute this event. Clan Odan-Urr’s next chapter is already becoming one of cooperation among the Houses, Summit teamwork, and member ownership of storylines. In that vein, please reach out to me, Kadrol, Tisto, or Turel if you have an idea or suggestions for the events going forward. It’s our goal to provide a fun, engaging experience for all members with this event and in all we do.
News
- New Possessions: The Regent released a report announcing the launch of several new possession items, mostly upgrades to armor, weapons, and droids. Try not to spend all your credits on that shopping spree!
- Council of Urr Requirements: After thorough deliberation, the Clan voted on new objective requirements to qualify for the Councillor of Urr title. Turel outlined them in a report and announced Kav and Seals as the first to receive the title under the new system.
- Hoth Aedile: I named Kadrol Hauen as aedile of House Hoth. He’s already jumped into the role with enthusiasm and talent. Check out his first report for an introduction.
Competitions
Here are some competitions for your consideration:
- Welcome to Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch: As it turns out, there’s no official name for someone who lives on Solyiat. Come up with one and convince me it’s the best.
- Crash Landing: Our very own Eeno challenges you to write a fiction about your character crashing on the surface of an unknown planet then meeting a bunch of Mandalorians.
- COU Pathfinder Training 1: A cluster race for the clan. Any and every game accepted.
- The Metamorphosis: What if you woke up as a Hutt? Write a fiction about that cursèd scenario.
- HoloFeet: Draw some Star Wars feet. Go wild, perverts.
Check out the Competitions page for the full list of all available competitions.
Since this report is already threatening to grow unwieldy, I’ll let Kadrol celebrate all your wonderful accomplishments in his next report. But do know I’m proud of how you’ve shown up in Flashpoint as well as the many ways you’re engaging with the club.
Keep your eyes peeled for the Flashpoint fiction installment and more information about ProBowl. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, suggestions, or simple chats. And, until next time, may the Force be with you.
