House Galeres - December Aedile Report
Introduction
Clusters, Competitions, Crescents, Promotions, Sacramentals, Transfers, We Got It All!
Let me start by saying congratulations to two of our long term members. Zakath and Nath both accepted positions within our sister house Qel-Droma, taking the Battleteam Sergeant positions for Styx and Shadow Gate respectively. I can’t express enough how grateful Galeres is to the both of you and we wish you both the best in your endeavors within Qel-Droma. Though we are forced to bear the loss of two great people, we know that Qel-Droma will benefit for it.
We have seen one of the most impressive months in some time for Awards and Promotions. Down below I have a full list of Member awards but I want to spotlight a few in particular.
Braecen Kaeth has been awarded a Sapphire Blade for his work by the Grand Master - Congratulations Brae!
Mako Henymory has been awarded a Grand Cross for his continued excellence - Congratulations Mako!
Zakath has been awarded a Grand Cross for his dedication and work to improve Arcona - Congratulations Zakath!
Ernordeth Puer-Irae earned his promotion to Battlemaster - I can’t even begin to speak to how much Ernordeth does within Galeres and the Club as a whole. Congratulations Ernor!
Rhace Tarrin joined us during the month of December as a transfer from House Qel-Droma and has earned his promotion to Lieutenant Colonel - Congratulations Rhace!
Emily Hune Joined us alongside Rhace during the month of December and just earned her promotion to Raider - Keep being awesome!
Wes Buriuk and Riverche both earned promotions to Battlemaster and Savant respectively - Excellent work to the both of you!
Kharoc Garrian earned his promotion to finally leave behind the Journeyman ranks, we are proud to welcome him to the ranks of the Equite as a Major - Great job Kharoc!
Rex Silverthorn has earned his promotion to Knight - Congratulations Rex!

Created by a crew of folks Rayze Erinos Arconae Nikola Valtiere and a few others who provided input including Braecen Kaeth, Rhace Tarrin, Celevon Edraven Erinos and Marick Arconae providing input from the ACB perspective. Grand Master’s Royal Guard
I can’t express how proud I am of our House this Quarter that we are in position to claim 6 of the 9 positions for the GMRG. I originally intended only to honor our own within the Report, but that we felt it was also necessary to spotlight our allies within Odan-Urr for providing us proper competition. Thank you to each and every one of you who currently inhabit the top 9 and are striving to join the rest of the House (I’m looking at you Kordath).
You all continue to amaze me with what you’re capable of, I look forward to the day that House Galeres sweeps the top 9 for the GMRG.

Rhace Tarrin #AskTheAedile Galeres has essentially seen a renaissance of late with a huge upswing in activity and a massive increase of interaction fictionally in the House. What's your favourite of the recent changes, and why?
Answer: I have always been of the opinion that if you provide members with the opportunity to show what they are capable of, they will take that chance and run with it. I love that a few small ideas have now turned into a snowball effect leading to numerous on-going competitions so that members -always- have something fun to do.

Answer: The ghost of a familiar Kaleesh may end up in the next RO/Fiction I write yes.

Zakath #AsktheAedile RP-wise, what do you think you will have in mind for Uji when we enter the New Year's, and the whole new canon starts taking effect? I know a lot of it is dependent on what Pravus has planned fiction-update ways, but do you have any tenative plans for your character personally?
Answer: I do actually, the original concept for Uji revolved around a background in the Jedi Praxeum and eventually the Galactic Alliance before his departure to the DJB. Since much of that will be changing (quite literally all of it), It's possible Uji will have spent far longer on his own before coming to the DJB.
Atyiru #AsktheAedile what's been your favorite thing from the House (or Clan) this year and why
Answer: This answer remains the same thing from the day I joined the Brotherhood and that continues to be the people. Especially in the last six months or so as Aedile I have had the chance to work with some damned brilliant people.
Atyiru #asktheaedile why is voyager so much better than ds9
Answer: To properly answer this question I have commissioned the following write-up from someone who has actually watched both series in their entirety (I couldn't stomach Voyager).

Firstly, DS9 dealt with real world geopolitical issues (via such plot points as the Cardassian occupation of Bajor). There was in depth character growth. Examples include Elim Garak growing from being a bit character to one of the pillars of the plot. Odo crew from a grumpy analog of Data to someone who was torn between the life he'd chosen and the one he'd left behind. Worf went from being a cool character on TNG to being an awesome character on DS9. He got to command a starship, which is something Will Riker still hasn't done (except in he books).
DS9 combined the best political intrigue that TNG introduced but added well thought out and orchestrated battle scenes, which sadly TNG didn't have the technology to implement. Did I mention the characters are ******* amazing? You will rarely find an ensemble of characters that are as compelling and complex. They're flawed and tragic and stupidly well written. They're believable. Finally, starships. You have the U.S.S. Voyager. Whoopdie do who gives a ****. DS9 gave us the U.S.S. Defiant. The ship was named the goddamn Defiant.
I will also add - DS9 had this woman who stood leaps and bounds above so many other characters in Star Trek
