Howdy guys and gals!
I'm super excited to be writing this report for you all, because, not only is it my first report in years, it's also the second time I have the pleasure of writing the first Quaestor report for a house. This will be a fun period for us as we build and expand our Wikipedia pages, write our lore, and establish ourselves and our role in the clan in general. It's my hope that HSS can follow in HOU's footsteps, by growing democratically and doing our best to make sure that everybody's voice is heard, and as many of those voices are utilized in our fiction as absolutely possible. To that end, I've been brainstorming ways to incorporate the several entries to our first fiction competition into the backstory of how and why HSS was established. Expect that soon.
Nausinikos observed intently as a multitude of robed figures quietly glided about the marble floor, their breath escaping in visible puffs in the crisp morning air. Each carried a large satchel of supplies, wrapped in leather and bound in twine in the Harakoan fashion, and as each set down their cargo, the Draethos Jedi checked off another item on his list. Somewhere in the distance a Harakoan played a soft melody on a stringed instrument, punctuated by the staccato of the military style boots of the working Jedi against the marble floor. They have worked hard, and late into the night thought the Quaestor as he checked off the last bundle as accounted for. Good, long sleep will help them grow accustomed to their new homes.
As a young Togruta laid the satchel down--Aaleeshah thought the Draethos, quickly recalling her name--a quiet fell over the vast hall, and even the musician ceased. The Jedi began to gather at the Eastern end of the open-air building of white brick and marble just as the first hint of the dark, smoldering orb the Harakoans referred to as Yhi inched over the distant horizon, breaching the deep blue of sea and sky, and illuminating the faces of so many species gathered in their new home. The orange light played off their varying skin tones, and permeated every inch of the interior of their acropolis, creeping slowly downward, over the small, clay dwellings of the Jedi, surrounding the ancient hilltop fortress. The city dwellers began extinguishing their fires as the sun swept over them, revealing the first Harakoan-built metropolis in history to Nausinikos and his comrades. Huge temples stood above vast rows of houses and stacked apartments, and all gleamed with the bright, white sheen only a new and rich city could afford.
"This place will suit our needs adequately," chimed Solari, his mechanical voicebox breaking the silence of the hall, just as the sun began to peel itself away from the horizon, casting a now bright glow on the already bustling harbor, far below. Huge, multi-tiered, oared ships of wood rowed back and forth across the bay, cargo holds full of all manner of basic necessities and luxury goods, facilitating the exchange of products across the entire continent of Owyhyee and beyond.
Whether they craved adventures to unknown lands, the danger of the political game, or simply a high, inaccessible place to meditate, this was the city which would provide it.
This city was Seher.
I hope you all like the fiction. It's also been a very long time since I've written anything that wasn't a lesson plan or professional development crap. I brainstormed most of it earlier on my lunch break, and added in a couple of your ideas from the fiction competition. Those that weren't added, will be added to the actual reasoning behind why we are where we are :). You'll be able to access this and more on the Wikipedia as we assemble it over the weekend (seriously, Spring Break is coming guys! one more week!)

When I read the fiction, I was confused who Nausinikos was. Then when I read the reply about your name change... finally I knew that it was you. Lol Ji. Awesome one. I am not sure that I have ever seen you in better vigor. Great one, man.
