Welcome to my first report back in the Proconsul seat!

In this report I will put on my Proconsul Hat once again and give a quick rundown of my goals, highlight some of the amazing numbers we’ve been putting out and offer some more opportunities to participate!

Who Am I?

I go by TuQ’uan Varick di Plagia, A.K.A. TuQ, A.K.A. The Hat and many of you know me already, that’s because…

That’s right, I have not only been a member of the Brotherhood coming up on 7 years now, but I have been a proud member of Plagueis the entire time!! In that time I have spent over 2100 days in leadership of varying levels, that’s 54 months or 5.8 years. I started all the way back as Battleteam leader of The Circle, moved up to Aedile of House Karness Muur and went on to be Rollmaster of Plagueis, Quaestor of House Karness Muur, Proconsul of Plagueis, Battleteam Leader of Hidden Blades, Quaestor of Tyranus and finally I have returned to Proconsul of Plagueis.

I don’t tell you all of this to brag or show off, I am sharing all of this to show my dedication and passion for the clan and its members.

My main goal in my return to Proconsul is to foster a positive and welcoming environment, and to promote activity among the members. The first goal is fairly self explanatory but I’ll say this anyway, negative comments about another member or how they do things will be addressed, if you have an issue with another member, let me know. But personal attacks are not acceptable. We are an international club brought together by our shared nerdiness and love of Star Wars, we come from a variety of different backgrounds, a level of respect and civility is expected. My DMs and emails are always open, and if you feel like there is an issue or you just want to chat, never hesitate to reach out. I try to be as available as possible.

My goal of promoting activity among the members is something I have been working on for quite a while now and have kicked into high gear over the past few months. One thing that I have noticed during my time in leadership is that Plagueis has an extremely active membership, at least during events. I have been working hard to have a constant pool of competitions available for members to partake in, I believe there should always be something for you to do. If you look through the competitions list you will see I am almost always running puzzles, art and fiction comps. I want to ensure that no matter what your personal taste in comps is, there is something for you to do. Just for example, since December, I have run and graded 147 competitions. Again, this isn’t me boasting, this is me telling you that there are ALWAYS fun things to do.

The flip side of my goal for activity is to get members running more competitions, there is no rank or position requirement to running a comp, in fact it will help you rank up and may look good on a position application. Do you have an idea for a comp you’d like to see run in the club? You can run it!! In my endeavor to help more people run comps, I have put together some resources to help make it easier that I’ll list below. But the long and the short of it is, I am here to help you out, whether that’s with advice, by being someone to bounce an idea off of, by answering questions about policies, or even working as a co-organizer. I want to see more Plaguian run activities no matter what they are such as but not limited to:

• Competitions, be it gaming, fiction, graphics, puzzles, flash games or anything else really!
  
• Roleplaying activities
  
• Social hangouts
  
• Group gaming activities
  
• Anything else you can think of!!!
  

As I mentioned above, here are a few resources that will help you run competitions:

• The first one is a folder I have put together called Competition Organizing, this is full of docs to help you with the initial organization of comps as well as spreadsheets to help you with grading you comps. I will be changing, updating and adding to this over time, but anyone and everyone is free to make copies and use the resources here. Any questions, let me know!
  
• The Leadership: Competitions course in the Shadow Academy is both a great way to learn the ins and outs of creating competitions as well as a refresher when you have questions.
  
• I find myself referencing the wiki page on crescents a lot more frequently than I care to admit, it helps remind me what level to set crescents to when creating a comp as well as how many people will place based on participant numbers.
  
• Depending on the type of comp you are looking to run there are three approval policies you should look at FIST for gaming, Herald for graphics and Voice for fiction.

Plagueis News

A few things have happened this month in Plagueian news, first up next, Slagar made an important announcement naming a certain Hat (me) as the Proconsul of Plagueis! Next up, with a hat snapped hole now open on the Summit, Titius was welcomed aboard as my replacement as Quaestor of House Tyranus and released his first report introducing himself. This past month we also saw an influx of new members, so please help me give a very warm welcome to our new members Zurgur Kaeso, Benan, and Ahathr’iss’asapla (Thrissa)!!

Not only did we get new members, but we also had a few returning members with Managarmis and Ronovi coming home to Plag!
