[Arcona] My Mind Is Full Of Several Things Resembling A Thought - December Report
The station of Hod Haran’s Folly was a flurry of activity as things were prepared for the approaching Slicemas holiday. At the center of the storm stood a man in a gaudy, golden suit with dyed silver fur trim. A pair of hands moved back and forth through the air, light glinting off a shiny silver Mythosaur skull ring on either index finger, guiding workers and droids as they moved crates, put up decorations, and built temporary structures along the roads of the resort.
The shipment of blaster pistols had arrived just in time and were currently being polished up so they could be delivered bright and shiny to the eager hands of children. The stadium had been erected at the north end of Level 2, and the Orbaks were currently being groomed and prepared for the daily harness races which would be held throughout the season. The only thing missing was the telltale sounds and smells of sizzling bacon, perhaps one of the most important components of the holiday.
Alex’s brow furrowed as he glanced about. Something wasn’t right, the bacon should have already been unpacked and distributed, but he could catch no sign of any. This simply would not do…

Hello hello and happy holidays to all my Arconans! For those of us in the US, we’ve just passed the start to the regular winter holiday season and for those of you here I hope you all had a pleasant Thanksgiving. We’ve obviously got the major end-of-year holidays and the New Year looming right around the corner, and I hope everybody stays safe, stays warm, and has a happy New Year!
Last month I passingly mentioned that we were looking at a change to the distribution of Clan funds to the Discretionary Funds for the Houses. After discussing with the House Summits and getting their agreement, we have implemented and decided to move forward with our new plan. For those of you unaware, previously House funds were calculated using a whole bunch of formulas based on activity and awards and various other things. It was intended to encourage participation and achievement in competitions and events, by providing reward to the Houses for their members doing well. I view this, honestly, as a little bit backward.
I believe the Houses should be provided funding so they can use it to acquire new buildings, ships, and other sundry things available in our Store system to help drive member-driven ideas and storylines. As an example of that, I was approached by a member who had an idea about having a rugby league - a personal interest of theirs - in Arconan space. I am currently plotting out a plan to purchase several buildings on a few different planets in our system and have them flavored as stadiums for local teams.
To that end, moving forward all funds the Clan receives will be evenly split each month. One third will stay in the Arcona coffers, while one third each will be given to Galeres and Qel-Droma. Members are encouraged to approach their leaders with ideas for things they would like to see in our fictional space, and leaders should be prepared to work with their members to figure out how Clan assets can help build out these ideas.
Finally, we have the beginnings of the next part of our Clan storyline, Veins of Power: Episode II. There have been impacts and changes from the earlier events of Episode I, as well as some other things which have happened around our system. Our neighbors, both in the Dajorra system and galactically nearby, have had some significant interactions with Arcona and some strong opinions of the Clan are beginning to form - for better or worse. The road of diplomacy is never smoothly paved…

December has arrived (already? Wow!) and with it the season of warm drinks, cold weather, and holiday chaos is upon us! I hope you're all taking a little time for yourselves... whether that means diving into DJB activities, unwinding after long days or simply enjoying the quiet moments before the Holiday craziness and the New Year.
I've really enjoyed getting to connect with more of you lately and I’m super excited for everything ahead! The start of a new year always brings opportunities and I have a feeling January is going to give us a fresh spark of energy!! Keep an eye out, there might be some fun things planned for the future.

- Pro Bowl results came out! The Frog-Dogs won! I still have no idea what that is!
- An update was made regarding website policy, concerning the content of things uploaded to the site.
- There is an open beta for the new website! It is very slick, and I am really impressed with it. You should check it out.
- The Exarch updated on the state of RP in the club. It is, to the surprise of no one, still extremely popular.
- The Herald gave some clarification about the Shroud Syndicate, and our very own Edema R'uh-Kalinor was the Featured Artist for some absolutely killer photography work!
