[Where A Fiction Should Go]

Introduction:

It’s been awhile since I’ve dropped one of these, but better late than never!

Welcome to the New Year, House Hoth!

My, what a year it’s been. Ups, downs, sideways and all. We’ve accomplished so much in just the past eight months I’ve been with the Clan and I cannot wait to see what this new year will bring to us. Some big changes are coming up, so let’s get right to it!

News:

So there’s been a lot of news posted in the past few weeks (cough months cough):

• Our Grandmaster has released a statement informing us that the “No Spoilers” ruling for Rogue One will be lifted on January 5th. Make sure you go see it before then if you don’t want to risk spoilers! Oh...that’s only two days away, you’re saying? Well you should be ashamed of yourselves. Go watch it.
• The most prestigious award in the Brotherhood was given to our Deputy Grandmaster for all of his hard work and dedication to the club! Congratulations Mav!
• Regarding the Rogue One celebration event, there will be accessories awarded for the top performer(s)!
• Our Headmaster released a new report!
• The Herald also released a new report, with a lot of Christmas goodies!
• The Voice has informed us that the Run-On event has been extended to January 7th! Make sure your group gets their participation posts in! Double check that proofing! (which I am doing right after this!!!)
• Happy New Years, from the Voice, in this new report!
• The Fist also says Happy New Years! (but he actually said it before the Voice)
• And one of our biggest announcements to take in, is that the Brotherhood has received the newest version of the Covenant! Make sure you check this out as it’s one of the most important documents we have in the DJB! Thank you Jac and co!

Member Highlight

This month, we would like to spotlight a member that hasn’t been in the Clan very long, and heck: he hasn’t even been in the DJB for very long either. Only having just achieved Knighthood, he has started to make a name for himself within Clan and the DJB as a whole.

This member can normally be found hunting down Pazaak matches and other members to game with in the telegram gaming channels Along with this, he can be found chatting up members in the Fiction and Clan channels as well. His wealth of knowledge is vast and what we think is the reason people notice this member is due to his normally very polite nature. It’s a breath of fresh air to see someone, for the most part, communicating with all the members with respect and dignity.

Lastly, he has become a great helping hand to both Edgar and I in his assistance in compiling the member statistics for both of our reports. He literally takes the most time consuming job on himself to be helpful. If it wasn’t for those efforts our reports would always be late(r). So without further delay, we would like to personally thank Ka Tarvitz for a great job and we hope you have a long and successful career within House Hoth!

Competition Highlights

• [DC] Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Celebration - With the release of Rogue One, the Dark Council created a series of competitions in celebration! All Comps end Jan 7th!
• The Life Day Games 2016 - Edgar is at it again with his massive competition drop to keeep us all entertained. Happy Life Day!
• [Godless Matron] Story of One - The Herald Staff is inviting you to help us create part of the story revolving around the Godless Matron, in the form of an NPC! Only a few days left, so get to it!

Closing

A lot of great stuff moving into the new year, for sure!

As I mentioned above, these past eight months have been a blast. I’ve had a lot of fun creating a new and improved face for Hoth with Edgar and the rest of the House and I’ve had a lot of fun writing the unit reports, especially Zoya! I feel that Hoth has come so far in this short amount of time and it makes me proud to say that I am Quaestor of this unit.

However, all great things must come to an end. Over the past couple of months, my presence has been drastically reduced due to workload demands IRL and other nasty business. So it comes to the fact that I will be stepping down as Quaestor of House Hoth. I’ve done everything I can for and with you all, so I don’t leave with a frown on my face, but rather a big goofy grin, knowing what all we’ve accomplished so far. Without everyone’s drive and willingness to achieve, we would not be where we are today.

With my resignation, I leave you all in very, very capable hands. Our very own Edgar Drachen will be stepping up to take the reigns as your new Quaestor! (you’re all doomed!)

Edgar is one of those leaders that just doesn’t quit and I see him excelling in the position. He will definitely keep us on the right track moving into the future and I cannot wait to see what he has in store for us. In the question of the soon to be vacant Aedile position, that will be announced through Edgar and Turel in the coming days, so stay tuned for that!

I want to thank you all for the quick but memorable ride as Quaestor. It’s been so much fun. Don’t panic, however! Arcia will still be lurking the halls of the Trepus Facility, offering the frequent judging glare to those that disobey the rules!
