Introduction

A Message from the Quaestor

Hallo my fellow Qel-Drominians!

How are we all feeling? Recovered from the War? I sure hope so, because in true Arcona style, there are already murmurs in the shadows, whispers along the grapevine, and premonitions of things to come on the horizon. As House Qel-Droma licks her wounds and regroups from the trials and tribulations of War, the Clan remains vigilant of shifting powers within the Brotherhood. Until the aftermath has been fully dealt with, we’d best keep a staunch defensive posture and not go dwelling in places best-left forgotten, or digging up any new Sithy tombs...

On the home front, the lekhead is recovering from a little flu and looking forward to seeing the official results of the War released. Based on the preliminary figures, we kicked some proper arse, though our esteemed rivals did put up a stiff fight as well. Whatever the final tally will be, I’m super proud of your performance!

I hope you’re staying safe and the burdens of the War have finally begun to shift from your shoulders. This is required, because I hear we may be looking at a Clan event rearing its head before the next House report...

Signed, Your Lekhead

A Message from the Aedile

Hello everybody!

War has ended and we have returned home.I hope you have all rested enough and that you are staying safe.

I'm eager to learn about the war results. I'm sure our House and Clan have done very well! We now resume our Clan and House developments, so get ready for what's to come.

I'm very proud of everything the House has done during the War, I know I've said this last report but I repeat this once more now that we've cleared it.

I love being the Aedile of this amazing house and it's because of you that it's worth! Thank you!

Signed, The Local Gambler.

House Fiction Update

Port Ol’Val
Phantom Complex
Quaestor’s Office

Tali Sroka sat by her desk, quiet and motionless. Her eyes were poised on all the paperwork that had accumulated during their time on Arx. She hadn’t heard from Karran Val’teo for a long time, and Aru Law was also nowhere to be found.

“Evading vork those two,” Tali thought calmly, as she picked a portion of the pile and began reading.

She was stopped though, by the untimely arrival of the Aedile, who smiled widely and was followed by his faithful R2-unit Tinker.

“Mornin!” Aru Law said, with too much enthusiasm for one person, perhaps to distract Tali from the even bigger pile of documents he was carrying.

Tali stayed silent, looking slightly perplexed. “Vhat’s that?”, she finally said.

The Human put the documents down on the Quaestor’s table and handed the one on the top to the purple Twi’lek.

“This here,” he said pointing at the big pile of paper, “are the bills and overall spendings of Ol’val businesses for us to review.”

Tali blinked twice, still holding the datapad she had been given.

“And that datapad contains a report I put together from all the individual reports we received from the House. Have fun.” And as he finished speaking, the Gray Jedi sat by the Quaestor’s couch, usually used to accomodate guests.

The purple Twi’lek was about to comment something, but thought better of it, merely making a mental note of the Aedile’s unhelpful contributions and making sure he’d find some unfortunate clerical error assigning him to the Voidbreaker’s janitorial detail...

This month we have no one featured on the leaderboard as there were very few competitions running and everyone took their time to rest after the hard fought war, as you should. It doesn’t mean however, that you have been stopped, as some of you went and collected some Clusters.

AskTheLekyDraw

  • Atty says:

    • Ruka walks in, what does Aru do?
      • Tali: Rolls for initiative?
      • Aru: He hisses and immediately rolls a d20 for athletics.
  • Alaisy wants a day out in Ol’Val:

    • Who draws the Lek?
      • Tali: There was this guy D’Karpio, who wanted to draw me like one his Rhylothian girls. He was given a raft and shot out the airlock.
      • Aru: “I sometimes draw the Lek when she’s not looking…”
    • I played the Lek and it was a Draw.
      • Tali: Unpossible! All DJB events have TIE-breakers!
      • Aru: “Did you Draw the Lek before, or after it noticed you?”
    • Does the Lek shoost?
      • Tali: She usedt to, but not since the Incident.
      • Aru: “I don’t know.” Looks at Tali
    • Anything on the Horizon for our awesome House?
      • Tali: The horizon is always crowded with potential. We need but pick a direction and engage the hyperdrives… Once the House has recuperated enough, of course.
      • Aru: “We still have personal enemies to deal with.”
    • Nobody died, only a few limbs were lost, I feel there's a need to celebrate, any plans on a party or a day out on Port Ol'val?
      • Tali: Mmm, yes! Once the spoils of war accumulate, we shall throw together a war booty celebration! Start off all fancy at the Opera Hall, and then dive ever downward to find the seediest cantina on our little space rock...
      • Aru: “A cruise through all the best bars Ol’Val has to offer sounds like a great idea!”
  • Sulith floods the House with questions:

    • Where are these forms we're supposed to fill? All I see is an open-ended request for questions.
      • Tali: “Plz, no more forms…”
      • Aru: “The forms were over a table by the Voidbreaker’s bridge entrance. Did anyone steal them?”
    • How are you guys doing?
      • Tali: On the mend, and feeling better. War stress over, and looking forward to taking us all on the next leg of Qel-Droma’s journey!
      • Aru: “I’m doing great! Thanks. What about you?”
    • How are your characters doing?
      • Tali: raises lek from behind piles of post-war admin flimsy “I’m ok!”
      • Aru: “The war has left us with tons of paperwork to deal with. And who the hell ordered 5 shipments of dungeon toys?”
    • Not exactly pushing for either sooner or later here, but how long of a break do you think we'll have before the next big House event?
      • Tali: Cards on the table, we’ll probably have a Clan event this month. After which we will likely do something with the VB (which was left a bit half-finished prior to the War) and expand on the House storyline. So, probably Sep-Oct axis is our bestimate.
      • Aru: After the war was over, we wanted to give you all time to rest, at least a month. Now that it has passed we are getting back to normal routines. You should hear from us soon!
    • Has the Voidbreaker been cleaned and sanitized recently? Things are usually pretty dirty around here even without any war going on.
      • Tali: I hear Zig has installed fur filters into the swimming pool. That should help with a least some of the maintenance, but I think we may need to expand the janitorial reserve...
      • Aru: “One of the goals of acquiring a brand new ship was to have it properly equipped with top notch cleaning equipment. Capable of dealing with the messiest of situations.” smirks
    • So that thing about the last remnants of the Dawn Conclave and those other gentlemen that came to their rescue... Very kind of them to wait for the war to happen and all, but will we be seeing them again anytime soon?
      • Tali: “I vouldt rather ve never see them again, but it seems they insist on being a nuisance, so...”
      • Aru: “Very kind indeed. But they still need to be taken care of appropriately.”
    • Any new fires or otherwise interesting events happening on Ol'val lately?
      • Tali: Looks at piles of flimsy. Looks at lighter.
      • Aru: “I don’t see any smoke, so that’s good. Other than that, Ol’Val seems quiet since the war. Perhaps too quiet…”
    • Quick, what's the worst pun you can make with little to no prompt?
      • Tali: Errr, What does the Colonel do when he gets a Major problem? He goes to his boss and gets a General answer.
      • Aru: “Is BB hungry? No, BB8.” gasps for air due to amazing joke skills
    • If you totally killed off one of your characters in a war fiction and find yourself in need of a resurrection method, what's the next best thing to do? No retconning allowed.
      • Tali: I think the most straightforward approach is to have them simply reappear and explain that they were abducted by some shadowy figures who inserted a Clawdite impersonator in their stead and who actually died during the war...
      • Aru: I haven’t dwelled much with resurrection yet and am not a big fan of it. I like the impact a perma death brings to the other characters. If I absolutely had to bring back a dead character, I guess I would search for the Dragon Balls.
    • If Sully is a Leonin Oath of the Crown Paladin, and Eilen is a Tabaxi Arcane Trickster Rogue, what does that make you?
      • Tali: Confused.
      • Aru: A Human Wild Card Rogue.
    • Would you mind sharing a link to your favorite tunes for writing or otherwise doing creative stuff?
      • Tali: I actually can’t really listen to music while I write, breaks up my concentration. However, I do find that Nightwish has a way of evoking thoughts and feelings that may blossom into character or story ideas. My personal favorite is Imaginaerium, which is kinda weird because the vocalist is probably the weakest in their history, but I just admire how the whole album flows as one piece, rather than just being a collection of tracks.
      • Aru: Click here to open a Google Doc with all my suggestions for different types of creative boosts i use.
    • We have no less than four people within our ranks who have suffered arm loss, with the total having quadrupled in recent months. What's the latest word on this growing epidemic, and do we have a plan of action for it?
      • Tali: “Ve are adding increasedt safety training to the operative fieldt training package. Also lanyardts andt finger loops to be addedt in order to avoidt being disarmedt in the future. Also-also, ve needt to add signage to increase awareness...”
      • Aru: “We are studying how the disease spreads. 100% of the cases have revealed lack of self awareness near sharp objects.”
    • Eilen is thinking about changing up her look. Any suggestions?
      • Tali: Did she already have an Emo phase? Or possibly beatnik?
      • Aru: Spiked hair all over her body is my preference
    • Can someone scratch Sully's back? They can't quite reach the spot. You'll be paid with satisfied purring and probably a spine-crushing hug.
      • Tali: Have you asked Satsi? Her spine might be up for it. But while we wait…. TK scratchies
      • Aru: “I value my spine, thanks. But come here, I’ll scratch you!”

In Closing…

The post-war lull is not going to last forever and after the big wave of activity, it surely was needed. However, let us turn our minds towards the ever-present future and take what lessons we learned to develop our characters, holdings, and stories that we all weave within this shared little corner of our fandom!

I for one am looking forward to our weekly RP events, as well as whatever the Clan’s storyline may have in store for us...

As always, if you have concerns, ideas, recommendations or a general need to chat, we are always here for you. Whether on TG (@tali_sroka, @AruLaw) and or email.
