Greetings, Jedi!

Between Light and Dark

Read this report for more details!

First off, I recommend taking a look at Pravus’ recent news post fiction. In fact, this is required to understand the full scale of the Brotherhood’s largest fictional change ever seen. This announcement is one that will affect us about as much as Vader being unveiled as Luke’s father and the destruction of Alderaan (Spoilers!)

I realize that this change will not be favourable to some; those who have poured their service into developing the world that became the home of the Disciples of Odan-Urr on Nov 14, 2010. In fact, on being the first to be recruited as a novice into the fledgeling House, the first ones I came into contact with were those responsible for the formation of New Tython—Ji, Solari, Kaira—among others. I have known and respected all of our current and former leaders, and we have since undergone the largest transformation in the Brotherhood from what we once were, to what we are now.

I have never forgotten the service of one leader here, from the efforts to establish the light side as a presence to combat the shadows, to the hard times of the Crusades and through that, to our current standing as a Clan.

To those who have dedicated so much time and effort into our home, I thank you.

To that end, this will be a re-founding of our Clan. A clean slate that we can work on without concerning ourselves about how to mold into the Brotherhood. As fiction goes, we’re no longer affiliated with the Brotherhood. The light-siders in the Dark Council no longer work alongside Darth Pravus. We can now wage our battles against them without fear of facing the politics or repercussions of facing another invasion.

Rest assured that this change will not seek to abolish what we have done, or discredit our members from their contributions to our developing Clan. Neither will I use this as a chance to disallow our members from having a voice in how our Clan is molded. In order to preserve our writings and past developments, New Tython remains as it was, a self-governed world that no longer has need of the Jedi to defend them from the Brotherhood. From here on, we will be moving to discover new worlds where we can have a new beginning. Where our past events were the beginning and end of new chapters, this is the start of a new novel.

Some might be troubled that this decision was not revealed to the entire Clan—I can understand that. Even so, it should be understandable that something of this sort is one of the few things we will ever need to do behind-the-scenes that will affect our Clan in such a large and sudden manner.

A’lora’s Corner of Foreseen Questions

Why the change?

The Brotherhood as a whole is changing. In the past year alone we have seen radical shifts on par with the addition of the light path with the founding of Odan-Urr. As the Dark Council began working through the direction the entire DB would take in this post Episode VII world the old question of how a light side clan can exist in a Dark Brotherhood resurfaced. As part of the new direction for the Brotherhood, we, the foremost champions of the light, needed a new direction of our own. No longer would we stand by in a cloud of ambiguity while the Iron Throne murdered innocents. So, working with the Grand Master, we developed a new fictional roadmap for the Clan and the light path which will allow us to clearly stand for our beliefs. This change is drastic, but in the end will bring clarity to not just our lore but the entire Brotherhood’s.

While not a bad thing, New Tython is rich in its lore and history; so much so, in fact, that it is constantly referenced in new material that we have written. I’m proud that we have made the most developed world in the Brotherhood and managed to draw on it for inspiration for so long. We have not run out of ideas for this world, but we do feel that it is time for a fresh start.

As we gain more and more new members, it becomes somewhat claustrophobic. These members are drawn into a world that is so rich, that we have sliced out the largest portion of the wiki to house its lore. More often than not, I am asked for something new, unrelated to the landscape of politics of New Tython, and something easier for our members to follow without delving into the knowledge of several years. For some of us, that comes easily—we have been here from the beginning, or close to it. For most, it becomes troublesome to navigate the histories, landscape and politics of our world.

This doesn’t mean that we will reset our landscape whenever we feel like it or decide that there is too much to take in. This was a unique situation brought on by the massive changes undertaken by the entire Brotherhood. In practice this means that New Tython itself has reached the point where Jedi are not needed. Without us, the planet will be safe from the crosshairs of a resurgent Brotherhood, saving more lives than we ever could if the Brotherhood invaded once again. It also means that our members have asked for something new, and we aim to deliver.

What will happen to the Harakoans?

Most of the Harakoans will remain on New Tython, the tribes either working alongside the colonists to build a better Harakoa under the Treaty of Menat Ombo or managing their own affairs in unaffiliated tribes, choosing not to become involved with the offworlders. A number of them could be brought with us to discover new worlds, but that is for a later time.

As we have done from the beginning, I will listen to what our members want to see. There is little that I have ever refused from our members, because I believe that all ideas hold some merit (except Turel’s). Harakoans are something that I do have an answer for, but an answer that will come after our feud with Plagueis. More accurately, it will be something that I will make a decision on only after gathering ideas and proposals from across the Clan from the newest members to the most senior.

What will happen to our fleet and armies?

Pravus has negotiated this at length with us, if we decided to be the first to have a new start. Our armies will remain about the same until possessions (we’ll need to purchase assets), but the fleet will be reset. Turel already has plans in place to assemble a team which will tackle the post-possessions reset. What will occur with our fleet in the short term is neat, as the points system is no longer relevant, but we will be looking at getting the first smaller, deadlier fleet that will soon be a standard across the Brotherhood. This is still being looked at, but we’re looking at updating our fleet of old vessels to newer models where we can and choosing a flagship and support vessels that will stand out in the Brotherhood.

We aren’t returning to being nomads, are we? I didn’t like that so much. Are we getting a new planet?

In all seriousness, we discussed this with Pravus before the fictional change. In exchange for going along with leaving New Tython behind, we will receive a new system to call our own with multiple planets that will undergo review sometime after the feud—under one condition. The new system must remain a secret.

What does this mean? It means that the Grand Master will never know in fiction where we have relocated. This makes it impossible for us to live in fear of being bombarded from the Brotherhood’s fleets and brings new challenges. This is not just a guideline, but a rule: whatever the fictional reason, no characters in the Brotherhood will have the coordinates to our home system, and therefore be able to invade. It is a unique setting, but necessary for the future preservation of Jedi in the brotherhood. Databanks will be programmed to wipe, memorization will be impossible and those visiting, leaving and entering will be escorted by those who know the coordinates. All such “reveals” of the coordinates to members will be classified as non-canon, for all intents and purposes.

Will we ever revisit New Tython?

There won’t be an official answer to this for a while. Right now, we’re looking to discuss the state of the world with Darth Pravus and shed some light on if the world remains intact, save for the loss of the mentioned major cities and the Praxeum. Second, we will still have the ACC venues located on the planet, with more (possibly) incoming.

Between Light and Dark

So, the announcement might have derailed this news of the feud for a bit. Without getting too far ahead in this report, I would like to share some news of our feud with Plagueis. On the creation side, all things have been finished and good for launch, with the exception of some adjustment for the first phase’s fiction to match the first announcement and Pravus’ news post. However, this won’t slow down the release schedule.

With how anticipated this event is, I know that everyone is itching to hear the release date. So, with that, I bear news:

The Prologue is set to release on the 29th.

Comprised of three phases, this event has a Prologue phase and two regular phases of competitions, with two competitions running the length of the event from the second phase to the end of the third phase. The Prologue itself will be run for one week while the two “main” phases will be run for two weeks each, with a week-long break between them.

There’s not a lot I can give for fictional details, as all of that is meant to be a surprise to discover through doing the prologue, or starting in the first phase. Do the things, and get the latest scoop. As a bonus, winning the prologue actually affects the event itself; awesome!

Competitions

  • Jedi Pillow Talk - What do our characters discuss during their pillow talk? Who do they discuss it with? Awkward shame, mundane business, or playful arguments? You decide. Pairings for this competition can be canon (e.g. official fiction on a character's wiki or character sheet) or completely made up for laughs.

  • COU Flash Game - Red - Very Simple game shoot the incoming rocks to deflect them from hitting your base. Survive as long as you can!!!

  • Flowery Words and Broken Hearts - Write a Star Wars themed poem which speaks about the end of a relationship, romantic or otherwise.

  • Hamster’s on the Run - Play the Hampster Run game and take a screenshot of your best end of run score.

  • Star Conflict PvP/PvE - Earn as many CF/CE's as you can and kill all the noobs! And claim victory for the Brotherhood!

  • This Is My Jam! - To celebrate the release of Star Wars: The Force Awaken, someone decided to go ahead and make playlists on Spotify for each of the main characters. Kylo Ren’s playlist featured a lot of nu-metal, hard rock, and emo influence. BB-8’s featured the most appropriate track with Chamillionaire's hit single - “Ridin’ Dirty”.

  • INQ: Shrouded Loyalty - The Grand Master's actions against the Undesirables has been a polarizing endeavor throughout the Brotherhood. Even the Inquisitorius is not immune to such division. It has come to our attention that there may be traitors within the society that work against our own aims, and we cannot leave such possibilities unexplored.

  • Stickman, I Choose You! - This is a stickman flipbook or animation competition. Grading will be on creativity, over-all awesomeness, and proper animation. Animation or flipbook must depict a scene of action or fighting using Lightsabers or other Star Wars weaponry.

  • Art Club: The Pictures In The Sounds #2 - Submit a drawing inspired by the instrumental music linked below. The point of this competition is to feel out the music and develop the "picture" you see inside your head that is inspired by the audio. Any standard graphics format (jpg, png, gif, etc) is allowed.

A shining beacon to the lost.

Satele Shan recently bid farewell to Kah Manet, who has gone to rejoin Tarentum. In his place, Mako announced that Alethia Archenksova had been selected to lead as the Aedile of House Satele Shan. We’re looking forward to working with her!

Good answers, Moro. :p

This is big for you guys, to say the least and a dramatic change, but it's also your time to make something new of your own and take a stand (with your allies besides, if you so choose). I believe in you.

Great Report, lets do these things!

Edited the timeline for the feud, due to a lack of clarity.

Well, I'll definitely miss New Tython. My CS requires some changes. :P

I believe that all ideas hold some merit (except Turel’s).

I'm seriously interested in where you guys are going with all of this. So looking forward to seeing more.

Time for.me to hunt. You may hide, jedaii, but the Iron Throne will find you.

Plagueis is ready for your destruction. So commands our Lord Pravus.

Best of luck in the feud

Can I come play too

#ArCOUna

Your guys' fiction has always been fascinating to read and I can't wait to see how you develop it from here.

Also, I haven't seen that Obama gif before, but surely this is the best use of it, lol.
