Clan Plagueis Report: Live from Mars Edition

header

Another awesome month for Plagueis! Woo! I'll try not to repeat too much of what's been said in reports throughout the month, but sometimes I get too excited.

There are going to be a lot of changes coming to Plagueis in the coming months, but fret not! Most of them will be fictional. Which is going to be awesome. Don't worry, we're still evil! I know Slagar and I have talked at length about different directions to go, and the Plagueis-Tarentum event will be the first step towards a reformed Plagueis who maybe (hopefully?) won't be getting beat down so much. Speaking of Tarentum…

Plagueis-Tarentum: Forged Alliances

As many of you know, originally we were going to launch the cooperative Plagueis-Tarentum event the first weekend of October. However, there were some last minute hijinks and rough edges we wanted to smooth out before we went live rather than trying to do and fix them in the middle. As a result, the event has been pushed back a week. We've also given it a fancy SW:TOR inspired name: Plagueis-Tarentum: Forged Alliances. Right now the breakdown will be as follows:

Phase 1: team event begins

  • Round 1/Week 1: 4 individual events
  • Round 1/Week 2: 4 individual events

1 WEEK BREAK (week 3)

Phase 2:

  • Round 1/Week 4: 4 individual events
  • Round 2/Week 5: 4 individual events & team event end

This is, of course, a very tentative schedule. We're trying to work in more team based stuff since people who signed up appear to be very gung-ho on team events. Which is awesome. Speaking of signing up (shameless, cheap plug): don't forget to sign up here! The main reason for the sign up is team based events, but if you specifically want to opt out of team events for whatever reason (maybe you're going on vacation for a majority of the event and aren't taking us? :( boo!) then you can tick that box off too. There's also a field for you to tell us anything you might be looking forward to and we can try and make it happen. I'll be finalizing the sorting of teams of those who have signed up already in the next day or so, but don't forget that sign ups for this event for the team based structure are going to be an ongoing, rolling sign up. So if you forget to sign up but still want a team, you can do it while things are still going on. If someone joins either clan half way through as a newbie, they can still sign up. Each team will be 4 people, 2 from each clan, who will total up points for the team to place in the overall event. Teams, as with competitions, will be announced shortly before launch so everyone can coordinate together.

Scoring will be not too dissimilar to what Plagueis has seen in the past with each round having 4 individual events, each with a modifier based on perceived time to complete and "difficulty". We want to make sure the time you're spending on these events is not only fun, but beneficial to both yourself and your team members. I can say, however, that based on the overwhelming signup response: a run-on is more likely than not.

Fictionally not much has changed since I first reported on this. Farrin will be nice enough to send some Tarentum mojo our way to help us exorcise the bowels of The Anchorage to get to Drax (or so we think). In return Plagueis will be supplying Tarentum with some political and military support and a lot of the convincing of, "Hey, we're the two most evilest evils! We should totally be friends because it's only a matter of time until we have to defend against those yucky lighties." Eventually we'll realize we need each other and then all sit in a kumbaya circle talking about our feelings. I may have made that last part up.

Battleteam Leaders Galore!

A little while ago our rollmaster, Jai'de, put out a call for some battleteam leaders. We're going a semi-new direction with our battleteam leaders to reflect more of what they've been in practice, rather than what they were intended to be in writing. The purpose of the battleteams, and the battleteam leaders as an extension, has been to welcome, acclimate, and train new members of the Brotherhood with a focused, more 1 on 1 intent. In reality, we've had such good BTLs that the turnover rate has been fairly high due to promotions. This has left a gap, where I want the house summits to fill in the void and work more closely with the rollmaster to absorb the intended BTL jobs. This will allow our BTLs to basically sit shotgun to the house summits and be, in essence, leaders in training. They'll do a little bit of everything, taking cues from the house summits until they're ready to work hands on with the journeymen.

As a result, after talking with Jai'de about applicants, it's been decided that we will be welcoming back two leaders from Plagueis' past to, in essence, get a bit reacclimated themselves. First will be Taranae Rhode who will be taking up the battleteam leader position of Disciples of Dreypa in House Ajunta Pall under Dracaryis. Taranae was a great leader and motivator in Plagueis before having to drop out a few months back, but I feel like Drac will be able to really push her to her full potential and look forward to seeing that develop. The other position will be filled by Eiko, who will be taking up the battleteam leader position of Apostles of Syn in House Karness Muur. Eiko is a face from Plagueis past who was rollmaster shortly after I joined Plagueis back in 2012, but real life beat him over the head and a lot has changed in not only Plagueis but the Brotherhood as a whole. This will be an opportunity for him to get his head back in the game, so to speak.

Aftermath

Ajunta Pall members rejoice! Drac & Kelly have been running a few competitions since Restoration ended for Ajunta Pall members to participate in. No major time sinks or any of that, just some fun stuff to do in between the major Plagueis events. Check them out:

Moment of Zen

"LOG ENTRY: SOL 381 I’ve been thinking about laws on Mars.

Yeah, I know, it’s a stupid thing to think about, but I have a lot of free time.

There’s an international treaty saying no country can lay claim to anything that’s not on Earth. And by another treaty, if you’re not in any country’s territory, maritime law applies.

So Mars is “international waters.”

NASA is an American nonmilitary organization, and it owns the Hab. So while I’m in the Hab, American law applies. As soon as I step outside, I’m in international waters. Then when I get in the rover, I’m back to American law.

Here’s the cool part: I will eventually go to Schiaparelli and commandeer the Ares 4 lander. Nobody explicitly gave me permission to do this, and they can’t until I’m aboard Ares 4 and operating the comm system. After I board Ares 4, before talking to NASA, I will take control of a craft in international waters without permission.

That makes me a pirate!

A space pirate!"

Yes, we will have ALL TEH EVULS!

(am I doing it right?)

Tarentum wishes it had all the evuls. There's that gray impurity, though. :P

It's ok though, we enjoy having all the evuls. It makes us unique. Should be a good time regardless of Tarentum's impurity

I'm pumped for this event. And speaking of events, come do some of the HAP things. They're good and good for you.

Much better for you than not doing them, I mean who wouldn't want to prove themselves as the best of HAP.

This will be interesting seeing how i am a former tarentum and my old.masters are still there.

Perhaps something with sabotage is required, but i ain't saying anything.
