Welcome to my second Consul Report. You can expect a monthly Consul report on the 1st of each month (Not April Fools), unless I’m either ill or awol on holiday, in which case, I’ll make Marcus/Jax do work and post one.

I’ll get straight into the thick of things with Clan news.

New Ties (Tarentum Co-Op Event)

We’re currently near the end of Week 2 of New Ties. So far, Naga Sadow has done a fantastic job of getting involved and making new friends in Tarentum. I’m really pleased with how you’ve all jumped feet first into it!

We have had some hiccups, which is always regrettable and Frosty and I apologise for that. Thank you for bearing with us and your continued support!

I’d like to highlight that this is a Co-Op Event and not a Feud/Vendetta. All of these competitions are to be done in good faith and while competitiveness is good, please remember that the aim of this event is to build new ties with other units, not create new enemies! Week 3 Fiction will be out on Monday, along with the Week 3 events.

Black Guard Trials

Bentre, our beloved Rollmaster and all round nice guy, is running the Black Guard Trials that end tomorrow. Each competition earns competitors points and the non-Summit member who has the most points will be the new Black Guard for the next 3 months.

The role of Black Guard has evolved over the years, from where we had 4 Black Guards, we now have 2. This may change to 1 in the future, however. This is due to the role of Black Guard traditionally being there for Journeymen to earn. Unfortunately we have had a lack of Journeymen recently and those we do have, can’t stand up against our super active Equites who dominate the competitions (Well done to you guys)!

As usual, the Black Guard fictionally acts as a bodyguard to the Consul and Proconsul. Sang is always looking for someone to keep him alive (act as a speed bump) if Muz gets bored. They also get to join in our Conclaves, one of which will be occurring after New Ties ends in order to look at how New Ties went and the future of Naga Sadow going forward to the GJW.

Dlarit/Warhost

This merger is still happening, I’ve just been focusing on New Ties. Once New Ties is over, the Wiki will be overhauled. I’m aware that we’ve got a few members who know their way around the Wiki, so I’ll be chatting to them on how we can best complete this project.

Our Possessions are now fully sorted. As you may notice, our ships have names. These were given so that you could use them in your Battle Plans for New Ties. However, these names are not final. If you feel that you have a great ship name, then hit me up and we’ll see what we can do.

Heroes of the Storm

As you may have noticed in the Naga Sadow chat, Heroes of the Storm has become an approved gaming format. A lot of us have been playing and I’ve now got accounts on both the Europe and USA server. Locke and I are playing most nights and we’re always open to others joining us for 2.0/2.5 Clusters of Earth per game (A game usually takes 8-15 minutes depending on how well we do).

I’d love for Naga Sadow to embrace this game, as it’s fairly easy and it’s free! I also envision that this game may feature in some way in a future event and it would be good to have a large number of members who could participate in it.

Discord

We’ve been utilising Discord a lot more these past few weeks. It’s one of the more stable voice chats and it mixes voice and text chats. Aexod kindly set it up for us and Marcus has experimented with it.

I definitely recommend using Discord while doing multiplayer gaming, plus you can hear me swearing in a posh English accent when I die...(I die a lot, I’m pretty sucky at games).

Lifeblood - Slice of Life Run On

Darkblade set this up before he left us for Taldryan.

This Run On is set after Reconciliation, the recent Club Fiction and before New Ties. Timeline wise, New Ties is set about a month after Reconciliation, so Lifeblood allows you to explore that time in between.

Shar Dakhan Summit

As you may notice, we have a new QUA/AED team in Shar Dakhan. Aexod has taken over as Quaestor and Jurdan Krennel has joined us from Scholae Palatinae as the new Aedile. Jurdan has hit the ground running and blitzed the competitions in New Ties. I hope that you get the chance to say hello to him on Telegram. Jurdan is a bit of a gamer and he’s always open to helping out his fellow Clanmates who want to get a game or two.

Herald Graphics Tournament

Vyr is running a head to head tournament that several of you have already signed up for.

It’s currently in the second Round and it’s good to see that Scarlet has gotten through into the next round already. Good luck to the rest of you competing. I wish you the best and I hope you win your matches!

Uji of Arcona and Junazee of Odan Urr are the new Gaming Magistrates. I hope they enjoy the large number of images being sent their way to approve for gaming activity.

Locke asks: “What's on the horizon planning-wise besides the rest of New Ties and the GJW?”

Well, we’ve got a long list of members who are begging me to allow them to run their own Clan Events, which I’m inclined to allow them. I’m always eager to see members get involved and leave their mark on the Clan’s lore. If you have any ideas for an event or want to get involved in helping me run one, then you’re always allowed to hit me up. I’m fairly easy to get ahold of.

That being said, after the GJW, we’ll see a couple more Clan Events in 2017, while potentially looking at what we can do with other Clans. Meanwhile, we’ll also be running ordinary competitions for the members to participate in along with updating the wiki, which is a long ongoing project.

We’ve also got a leadership manual being put together by Bentre that will be of some use to new Summiteers in Naga Sadow in how we operate. It will also allow future Consuls to work off it and edit/change what they want/how they operate. Consider it my Codex Astartes, only I want it to be fluid and changeable. I don’t want no hidebound Ultramarines!

Raikou asks: “Since you've taken control. What's your worst and best experience to date? Options can include your favourite Aedile abandoning you for two weeks.”

My worst experience? Having to put up with Locke being rubbish at healing on Heroes of the Storm. He’s gotten much better now though. My best experience? Seeing how much you guys all did for Week 1 in New Ties. I spent a long time worried about how you’d all react to the event, so I’m eternally grateful to you all about the fact that you’ve shown me just why I love Naga Sadow so much.

Mactire asks: “What are the plans for the future of the CNS Navy as well as our ground forces?”

They will stay controlled by NPCS, the Warhost will not be commanded by members under my Consulship. Naga Sadow has changed over the years to respect our mundane forces and we utilise the experts in their roles. I’d rather entrust control of a starship to an officer who has spent years learning their craft than a crazed Dark Sider with grand illusions of unlimited powah! (They’re less likely to shoot me in the back).

As we earn more money from member’s activity, we will continue to add to our armed forces. We’ve got a fairly balanced fleet, so we may focus on improving our ground forces.

Firith asks: “Will any of the fresh bondage? no, ummm, unused fetters? no, ah, um pristine hobblels? (damn,what are they kriffing calling it),.. bowtie pasta? no, no, pasta.... hungry....Wait, oh right! The Nude Spaghetti...Sorry...The um, whatchamacallit, uh New Ties! Yeah, that, the New Ties thingies. Are those going to, uh, going to become CNS canon?”

The storyline will be CNS canon. If there is anything interesting in the Run On or fiction entries that I really like? They may be inserted into the storyline to become CNS canon.

I thought Tarentum would be providing Week 2 fiction, I may have been mistaken. I’ll be providing Week 3 fiction, which will be out on Monday alongside Week 3 competitions.
