Happy New Year! Crazy how we went from 2019 to 2021 right? Damn.
Well now that the year that shall not be named is over, we are going to start getting back into our normal routines, namely our weekend events. If you’re new or have never joined us on one of these, they are a lot of fun. We split the weekend into two parts… one for gaming and the other for roleplay and/or trivia. However we are also currently playing around with a movie night idea that we had tested with the beloved Star Wars: Holiday Special that turned out to be a lot of fun. More on that later. So even if you’re timid or don’t like other humans, I suggest you join us on our Discord server or on Telegram. There are some cool people here that I’d like you all to meet.
Now let’s not just reserve this for the weekend… no, no, no. Anytime you want to get on with a group of your Clanmates, put the word out. There is usually someone around somewhere who you can chat, game or even team up with on a group competition or ACC. Making those small connections now will end up paying off big in the future.
rolls back over under the covers
It’s my pleasure to announce another winner for the Scimitar of Lord Hoth. For those new to this, we tally up all your activity and whoever gets the most gets that above fancy sword. Each month’s tallies are counted for an overall winner at the end of the year. So without further ado let’s get to the December results!
Everyone join me in congratulating our December winner, *Agate Gua’lara *, as well as our runner-ups who placed in the competition!
Moreover we had 27 participants and some strong competition! Well done, my friends! To those who placed in the top 3, very well done. I was particularly happy to see some new faces join the group. That’s why this competition is great. People doing things together. <3
Now that we have 2020 behind us I am proud to announce the overall winner of the Scimitar of Lord Hoth. Everyone join me in congratulating, for the second year in a row, *Agate Gua’lara * as the winner of the 2020 Scimitar of Hoth!
Moreover, I want to call out the top 10 in the rankings above. This parent competition had 45 participants so to get into the top 10 is quite an achievement. Very well done! Also, I would like to thank those that participated this year. It was a great thing to see so many show up to do things together for the Clan. Thank you so much. :D
For those that want some more details I have some more chart candy for you all.

That said, Scimitar 2021 is now officially up for grabs. Good luck!
Our big DB-wide Squadrons event, fashioned after the famous Boonta Eves of the Star Wars universe has finally finished. There were three rounds in total, each one anointing an ace, and the final ace was up for grabs as well. That said, here are the final results. Everyone join me in congratulating our overall ace as well as our round aces!

This has been a wonderful competition series. I’ve seen some wonderful flying. The difference between first and second place was a mere point! Congratulations to all the participating fliers and I hope to see you at the next big squadrons event. With that said, I’ve made a post-event survey for you all to fill out. :)
We would like to welcome you to our family
Several Odanites did exemplary work during this last month, whether it be competitions, Shadow Academy or something else. As such, I’ve dedicated this section to their excellent efforts for the Clan. Please take a moment to look over the triumphs of Odan-Urr and congratulate your fellow Odanites.

Great work to all that participated and placed. Thanks for all the energy and effort you put into the club. You make Odan-Urr a great place to be. :)
It is my absolute pleasure to announce the following awards and promotions. Please congratulate your fellow Odanites and their recent accomplishments.

This club requires people doing things together. This project is nothing less than bringing in more members. Have a great idea of how to do it? Want to help out? Feel free to let us know! Here are some current things we are working on.
Training Roleplay at the Praxeum: This is an open RP topic for members of Clan Odan-Urr. For the sake of getting to know each other's characters, apprentices are encouraged to post here as much as they like.

The idea of integrating our character sheets with roleplay has always been something we’ve wanted to do. I am pleased to announce that Tassk Adroc has taken charge on this project and is looking for volunteers to help craft the final project. If you want to help and care about making those +1 survival skills finally matter, or even a good tabletop-style story, please reach out to Tassk.
Our wiki pages always need work and we’ll be cleaning things up. This helps us remember our history. We have all the volunteers we need at the moment but if you have any questions or feedback, please reach out to Aura Ta’var.

Many years ago, I joined Odan-Urr and fell in love with it. Fictionally, I stepped out of the darkness and into a much brighter world full of heroes of all walks of life. I saw light-side characters unabashed to be who they wanted to be. I saw characters putting up the good fight for what they believed in, unafraid to stand up for what was good. Since then I’ve worked tirelessly to give back. I want to make the light of Odan-Urr shine as bright as the sun. I want to make sure that Odan-Urr gets stronger and even better than we are today. If you care a lot about Odan-Urr and want to help build its bright future, I am offering you the opportunity to learn more about what it means to be a clan leader. ^^

Every so often we have to look at our possessions and rework them to fit our current needs. Over the past month, we’ve been talking over different ideas for both our Clan and House fleets. If you have any input, message me and I’ll put them on the list. We are close to christening the new ships and we’ll be unveiling them soon. Be on the lookout for updates though, as we’ll need to name them all!
POC: Revak Kur
What’s better than keeping people off your back? Doing it right the first time! That’s why I’ll be working on a series of Survival Guides to help you accomplish both of those things. Currently Gui and I are working on one for the Master/student program. If there is something you haven’t quite figured out how to do, that isn’t covered in an SA exam, reach out and we’ll see if we can share some of our tips and tricks to help you solve those mysteries.
POC: Revak Kur
That’s all the projects for now. This list will change over time so if you want to get in on some project work just let one of your leaders know. My door is always open. We don’t have all the good ideas and you get cool shinies/promotions for helping out the clan!
Tassk: “What clan activities that you've run in the past couple of months have gotten the most activity? Is there a certain area you really want to see have an increase in activity?”
Aura: Good question. Lately, I’ve seen that easier competitions like puzzles, flash games, memes, etc... seem pretty popular. That said, we’ve had some good activity with the creative competitions for events like our recent Seven Pillars: Jedha. Community events like roleplays and trivia have also been a hit.
Revak: One area that could use more participation, I know there will be a lot of grumbles when I say this but, any of the fiction competitions we put out. Historically, we do a lot of storytelling in this club and any events we run will have said elements in them to help propel the arc, give you the chance to shape the story yourselves and make it more personal to all of you and your characters. We want you all to be as much a part of this story as any of the characters we create so take a little time to submit to a fiction comp. You might not like what you submit but it may have the one detail that turns the tide for an entire event.
Thanks for reading the January Clan report. If you haven’t already please look over the Odan-Urr Holiday Card. It has lovely surprises for you all and heartfelt wishes from your clanmates. Also, I am really excited for the new stories we tell together this year, whether it be through official events or just writing together on the side. And as always, if you need anything feel free to reach out to me. I am always here for each and every Odanite. To a hopefully much better year and remember that we have each other.
