News:

On the GJW

Since our last report, we have seen the first round of the Great Jedi War come by, pushing all of us to achieve the best of our abilities and to strive to see Arcona dominate. For all of your hard work, it has been a pleasure to see the amount of entries that have been given out by Clan Arcona and House Galeres. With that being said, we have had a small break and are now being plunged back into events with the opening of Round II. You can find all of the events for this round through the link below.

Round 2 Events!

That being said, I can personally tell each and everyone of you that you did an amazing job last round, and that I wanna see those same stats this round. We smashed out the first round, so let’s keep this going as strong as we started.

A few fun figures for most of you, we managed to get out: * 26 out of 86 fictional submission, which is just amazing on its own right * Over 300 CFss in total were garnered by gamers * And we all managed to do a ton of events

This is a mind-blowing start to the War. For everyone who is experienced in a Great Jedi War, you know what to expect. Remember, it will keep coming. For those of you with less experience, I know for a fact that you are being thrown into the deep end here, and that is what your summit is for: come to your BTL’s, AED and even me if you have any questions you want answered. But for now, hit Round II hard and fast and don’t let up on it.

WE. ARE. WAR.

General and House News

*You are minding your own Sithy-dark-black business, strolling down the hallways of the Citadel after cleaning the blood of your enemies from your lightsaber, which is totally logical, when suddenly your superpowered Force senses detect a disturbance. You glance to your side and see a small, strange hole in the floor. *

You blink, and as you watch, a hand reaches out of the gap, followed by the rest of this strange hole-dwelling person. The figure resolves itself into a dirty woman, clutching at a thick stack of papers. You think you recognize her. The Aedile of Galeres? She turns to you, laughs maniacally, and goes skipping down the hallway screaming, “It’s over! It’s finally over!” at the top of her lungs.

You look around and edge slowly back the way you came. This place is too frakking crazy. Ain’t nobody got time for that, oh no.

Atty here! You guys probably have no idea what I’m talking about, but the above is a reference to a little project I had this weekend between War rounds: grading Operation: Revival. That’s right! It’s been a long time, and I apologize for that, but I’d also like to thank all of you for your immense patience in awaiting these results between another RO, the holidays, and the War. Most of all, I’d like to tell you: you’re all amazing. I can’t stress it enough (partly because it’s in poor taste to swear in reports ;P) that you all are incredible, and it has been nothing short of a pleasure to watch you write the story that you did and to read your work.

If any of you would ever like an in-depth analysis of your work, or wanna sit down and talk with me about anything writing-related, just hit me up! I’d love to give you guys some personal feedback after everything you invested in this Run-On. Some of you displayed immaculate skill with syntax and immersion, others crafted brilliant and wild stories, and others came swinging out of left field with huge plot movements and undying robots. So, without further ado, here are your results! Congratulations to our placers, and well done to every single one of you!

1st| Andrelious Mimosa-Inhaj

2nd| Kordath Bleu

3rd| Arcia Cortel

Honorable mentions to 4th and 5th place respectively, Ood Bnar (and his friends drip and drop) and Antar Locke! Great job!

Of course, our RO went on to merge into the Clan-wide Operation: Resurgence. I’m sure we’ll see results for that beauty post-War, and I hope you’ll all join me in being patient while we all, graders included, destroy our enemies. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!

Ahem.

The Rest

In the meantime, please please pay attention to the main newspage! Lots of info concerning the War is released there, and if you don’t want to bother asking around your fellow members/summiteers or can’t find one, you can always easily access said information there. Just for example, here’s Mav’s mid-War fiction report! Some epic statistics from that beauty: 26 of 66 Arconans submitted fiction entries, the largest number of entires from any Clouse by a large margin and nearly a third of the total fiction pool submitted. That’s pretty damn awesome, and I know for a fact (from proofing so many of you!) that lots of you had some long fiction entries. I just hope you know how proud I am personally, and how proud this summit is of all of our Galerens.

Promotions:

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: it’s always wonderful to see hard work pay off. People have put in the time and effort, and for that, they’ve earned their rewards. A big hoorah to everyone who earned themselves a promotion this last month, and a huge cheer to anyone still working up the ranks too. Remember, guys, that if you put forth the work, we’ll get you that promotion or that medal, one way or the other. Sometimes, it might seem unfair as you look around, but I’d encourage you to look first at yourself and remember that if you do well, we will always do well by you. That said, congratulations again to those that ranked up this month! Vosh, drinks are on you!

Nob/Vosh:

  • Promoted from JH to Dark Jedi Knight!

Chizz:

  • Promoted from PRT to Guardian!

Josskua Rhen

  • INI to APP, APP to Novice!

Shadow Academy:

We have seen a few exams being taken since our last report, but not many. We can understand why, because let’s face it, it’s the middle of a Great Jedi War. However, with all of that being said and done, if you do find yourselves some time, do feel free to take a look inside of the Shadow Academy. It’s always good to expand your knowledge of not only the Brotherhood but also the Star Wars Universe. All of that being said the following exams have been taken since our last report:

Uji

  • Combat Tactics II Josskua Rhen
  • Essentials 1: History
  • Essentials 2: Departments
  • Essentials 3: Paths & Orders
  • Essentials 4: Ranks

Darkblade:

  • Wiki Basics
  • Dark Savant - Combat and Tactics

Chizz:

  • Leadership Rewards
  • GMRG History

Societies:

War, it seems, is a great time to advance within the Societies. We have seen a fair few people moving up inside of the GMRG, at the very least, with all the gaming. Remember that you can always do better and advance, and use this as something to strive towards over the next month. Try your best and do what you can, and you never know: your name could be on this list. All that said, the following people have improved since our last report:

Chizz:

  • GMRG Rank I to III

Vosh:

  • GMRG Rank III to V

Darkblade:

  • Senior to Graduate (magna cum laude)
  • GMRG II to Rank IV

Transfers

Sometimes we say goodbye to friends, watch them move on to the real world, or just plain lose people. But this month wasn’t one of those times. Today, we don’t say any goodbyes. We just welcome some new faces, and welcome old ones home! It’s good to have you back, folks!

Josskua Rhen

  • Joined into House Galeres. Welcome!

Nadrin Erinos Arconae

  • Transferred from HQD to Soulfire Strike Team of Galeres. Welcome back, Cox!

Baxir Vol

  • Suddenly, MANGOES! Orv transferred from the Rogues to Galeres. He’s back, baby!

Competitions, the GJW Edition

Most competitions, as you all know, have been suspended for the duration of the Great Jedi War. That does not mean some older events (like our House Gal RO) aren’t being graded, but it does mean general competitions won’t be running.

The competitions we’re totally going to advertise from here to high heaven are those of THE WAR. I went 4/4 last round. So did Stu. I know our BTLs did. And many of you, proud Galerens, did too. That’s fantastic!

NOW GO DO IT AGAIN YOU EPIC LITTLE GLITTERMONKEYS. Or, something motivational to that effect.

Seriously though. Events have been released, and they’re pretty similar to last round’s. There are four, including a puzzle, a fiction, a (traditional) graphics, and gaming. Here’s a brief outline:

  • Gaming: includes the X-Wing series and Pazaak. You may play any person in each game up to three matches per day. Further, PLEASE READ THE RULES AND NEWS POSTS CAREFULLY. /end caps. Gaming has gotten messy as it’s wont to during these sorts of events. Rather than saying “don’t be a dick” I’m going to go with a better motto: be excellent to each other. That is all.
  • Fiction: minimum 750 words, max 20k, thereabouts. Somebody’s run off with writings on the Rite of Immortality from that one temple we all had to write about last time! You must incorporate one of the NPCs given to us for the event into your fiction and somehow investigate or recover those writings! The prompt has important info, so it might be in your best interest to actually read it this time cough cough.
  • Graphic: Everyone’s been affected by the War and Crusade. Draw a person, be it your character, another character, or an NPC, and somehow show those effects. This is a traditional drawing competition, meaning stuff like pencil and paper sketches are preferred. You can take a picture and make very minor edits before uploading, but your work must be at least half traditional to qualify. If your gfx is completely digital, it will only count for participation--it can’t place.
  • Puzzle: easiest of the lot, this one is about the same as last round’s. It’s a little bit slower, but your eyes won’t bleed this time, so you’ll be fine. Remember that subscribing to the event starts the timer! Important note: there was an initial coding error with the puzzle that has been fixed. However, if you did the puzzle already, you will need to redo it as submissions were reset after the fix.

Summit’s Thoughts

Cethgus - All of you have pushed yourself hard recently, giving the hard work and making sure that you never let the high standard that we have got used to drop. Its amazing honestly some of you have already seen me pretty much cry with pride (Thats right im that proud of Arcona). You keep this hard work up and honestly I will come out of this war knowing that I am happy. Push yourselves to the limit and nothing can stop you, aim high we always have and always will. I have to say a massive thanks to the leadership team around us, they push each of us to do the best we can, give them a huge shout out, now lets go to round 2. We are Arcona, together we stand, together we will prove our strength. Arcona Invicta Brothers and Sisters. Abbey - It’s been far too long since I signed my name to one of these. Poor Stu, pulling all the report work himself. Life gets crazy. I went home for the holidays and spent a last Christmas with my family before I moved across the country on a whole new adventure. As many of you have also experienced, a new academic semester has started. Work drives us all crazy. But we get through it, and we always come back home in the evenings...and I’m home with you all now. I plan to make up for that time. I plan to be here for you guys, to the best of my ability. Talk to me. Come to me. Laugh with me. Ask me questions. I’m here for you, and so is the rest of this awesome summit. So c’mon, guys. Enjoy the touchy-feels, let ‘em warm up those cold, black hearts of yours, and then let’s all go conquer this War. I couldn’t be prouder to lead such a group of ass-kicking crazies. LET’S DO IT!
