Introduction

Hello yes, this is Wally. In this report we’ll do some house-keeping, plug the plethora of events and activities available to you, and check in with where we’re at. I also wanted to shout out that you can now decouple your Dossier from your characters. What that means, as an example, is you’ll now see my Dossier as “Legend Wally” instead of Marick Tyris Arconae. Marick is still slotted as my main character, but my name on the site now aligns to me personally and my Dossier handle.

I’ve also just literally moved my entire life to our new house, which people are probably sick of hearing about because this has been a long, tiring, four month process to get to where we are now. But, things should hopefully settle now that my stuff is all in one place (I can has desk!) and I look forward to better serving each member of the House.

Internal Updates

So, this was supposed to be the July report, but we pushed it back to August because we needed to adapt for some changes made at the Clan level that affected the organization chart.

In short, Battleteams have been absorbed into their respective House rosters. So, instead of Voidbreaker and Dajorran Marshalls acting as “sub” units inside of the Roster page.

How does this actually affect me?

Honestly, it really shouldn’t affect anyone. This is more of an organization-chart specific adjustment that speaks to our current level of activity as a Clan and House. Voidbreaker is still Voidbreaker, we’re not going anywhere, but we will try to include Port Ol’val and Dajorra System a bit more.

Oh Captain my Captain

These changes do, however, mean that Mune—who was already talking to me about stepping aside—has retired from the House Summit. They are still a valued member of the House, and are still stuck with us as an Arconae helping with advising and guiding Arcona’s leadership (and keeping me sane). We appreciate everything Mune has done for Voidbreaker, House Qel-Droma, and Arcona as a whole. Mune Cinteroph (the character) will remain as Captain of the ship fictionally.

On another positive note, we do have a new Aedile who has been hard at work this entire time.

New AED, Who Dis?

My dearest Qel-Droma. I am writing this to express my dearest appreciation at being given the chance to work as AED.

Cheesy writing aside, for those who don't know me. Im Revs. I've been a member of the club for almost eleven years now, with the majority of that time being here in Qel-Droma. Outside of bad jokes I'm not really good at knowing what to write in these sections, so I'll make it quick. My messages on discord are always open if you need me. I may not respond quickly all the time but I will respond. And if you need something I don't know the answer too. I will find someone who does. Wally has gotten the ankle monitor in place so I don't wonder off and I'm looking forward to learning and working for the house.

House Challenge!

What better way to celebrate our new Aedile than to play a game!

That’s right folks, Revs and I have cooked up two quick and light competitions just for members of House Qel-Droma!

• HQD: Slicer Speed Test

This is something I kind of made up, and have no idea if it will work as a competition. But we’ll try it out, and I think it’s fun/on theme at least if you consider that this is something Zig would make everyone do.

Click the link in the competition, and try to get the highest words per minute + accuracy in the typing test. It should take 2 minutes of your time at most, and then you’re done! Easy-peasy.

• HQD: Create a Storefront

So, here’s the sitch’. Outside of the Voidbreaker II, Qel-Droman’s do occasionally venture out to touch grass some kind of terra. We have two really cool locations that are “heavily controlled” by House Qel-Droma: Hod Haran’s Folly and Port Ol’val. To make them feel more alive and connected to them, we are asking each of you to come up with a storefront, stall, vendor, business, etc that would exist in one of these locations. This can be as simple as filling in a few lines in the competition submission box, or a document/pdf you want to upload.

If you have more than one idea, don’t be afraid to let us know! But for the competition, pick one you really like or think would be cool.

All valid entries, with consent, will get added to the wiki!

DB Wide Updates

Here is a quick summary of what’s happening elsewhere around the club.

• Pro Bowl Pro Bowl was announced in a unique combination with Seasons. Will keep you all updated as we learn more information.
• Update to Species Approval Guidelines
• Magistrate to the Emissary: Open Position there is still time to apply for Emissary Staff, deadline is September 1st.
• Tweaks to the Transofmration Power for Character Sheets
• Parabellum: Chapter 5 - the latest macro (DB-wide) plot update dropped, following up on our efforts from this season's last few chapters of events.

Recognition

This section will cover the shout outs and recognition for members of the House, highlighting metrics but also things that might not be tracked on the site.

• General shoutout to Ben, who after re-joining HQD just seems to be picking up where he left off in mining crescents like they're gold. Glad to have you back buddy.
