CNS Consul Report #4: Giving the Galaxy a Run-On for Its Credits

Good afternoon, my spectacular Sadowans. I hope this September finds you both relaxed and stoked. I know that my September kicked off with a bit of an unexpected fishing trip, but surely enough CNS keeps bringing me back.

There are things brewing in the Clan, and we are going to be kicking off the first in a series of monthly Run-on’s being run for the Clan. More on that as we get further along in this report. We have a bit of closing fiction, the results of the Encounter at Citadel, and a neat new wrinkle in a storied legacy for Clan Naga Sadow.

Well, that is not all in the tubes, but I cannot be giving away all fun, new twists for you wonderful lot. I will be taking a bit to recognize some folks for recent accomplishments as well. Without any further ado, let’s get into this September report under way.

"We are Clan Naga Sadow. Born of a Sith Empire and we are going to reclaim that which our forefathers have held. We will rise out of the ashes as a new Sith Empire and take back our home worlds! We will lay waste to those that dare to stop us and will rise once again to bring a New Sith Empire to power!"

You read that right, Sadowans! From the lips of my right hand and partner-in-crime, we are going to be living up to the legacy of Naga Sadow in a bigger way. We are going to lay the foundations of a Sith Empire, living up to the ideals of our forebearer. We have had all sorts of focuses on cults and sub-groups- and that isn't going to go away, strictly- but we have the lense to focus all the smaller parts into the image of Sith supremacy. This is not going to be Palpatine's empire, or Snoke's First Order. This will be a more Golden [Age] affair.

To quote a bit more of the same fiction at thelater part of the closing fiction from Encounter at Citadel:

“...Our path forward will not be easy...For now, we will continue to fight...We are not some ragtag group of wannabe conquerors...When Clan Naga Sadow returns to its home, it will be with thunder and wrath...we will strike abject terror into the hearts of our adversaries.”

Yes, we are in a more mobile, and less grounded position than we would be on Orian. This disadvantage can be turned to our advantage, as it gives us all the more reason to fight the Collective wherever we find them and we will harder to track down before we strike again. We can use this time now as an opportunity to gather artifacts and allies. That way, when we strike back at the Collective we can do so with overwhelming force!

(and again, if you didn't get a peek at the closing fiction, you can read it here)

Clan News

  • The points have been tallied and the results are in. The end of Encounter at Citadel saw a Clan victory against an unexpected appearance by the Collective. Taking first, second and third place respectively were Morax Darkblade, Erik Cato and Muz Ashen respectively. Individual placements will be listed after reports and news.

  • Our first monthly Run-on for Clan Naga Sadow has already been mentioned in an email and a bit in Telegram. The first RO for September finds Clan Naga Sadow on Cato Nemoida following up on some intel about an auction. A Sith Holocron and another item of note are of particular interest to the Clan Summit. With two teams- infiltration and extraction- Naga Sadow has an opportunity to claim what should rightly be ours. Two posts of 250 words or more will qualify folks for placement and earn you at least a Cluster of Ice!

  • Meanwhile Locke will be running a small event for House Marka Ragnos in the form of Dark Flame. This short competition, stretching out over 2 weeks will see House Marka Ragnos retaliate when smugglers decide to steal supplies from the House.

  • Locke had also encouraged his fellow Ragnosians to take part in Encounter at Citadel, in addition to giving praise to members for taking part in the first Phase of the event.

  • Shar Dakhan’s Aedile likewise offered encouragement in the final hours of the event.

  • Our Rollmaster released a brief report during the Citadel event

  • Ashia’s Proconsul report detailed the placements for the first phase of Encounter at Citadel and praised participants within the first phase.

  • Muz dropped a report acting as a brief “who I am” and talking a bit about the past/legacy of the Clan and his House.

  • Erik Cato followed up the Encounter with a report recognizing folks and announcing a short fiction competition, Horrors of Holographic Fun Land to follow the conclusion of the Clan event

  • Teu Buhkari Sadow earned an Anteian Cross for her activity!

  • Alexander DelGotto earned an Anteian Cross for activity, reporting issues in the Shadow Academy, and activity in the same- in addition to general activity!

  • Shimura Keibatsu has earned a Dark Cross, particularly for his activity since returning to us some weeks ago!

  • Marcus Kiriyu has been promoted to Equite 3 for his activity and leadership over a few positions with a particular focus on his work as Praetor!

Reports and News In The Club At Lage

  • Taldryan’s Consul has released a monthly report on the status and ongoings of the Clan.

  • Wally has released a Voice Report, detailing some more info on the Inquisitorius, talked about updates to Wiki-recorded things, briefly touched on a fiction leaderboard, touched on Inquisitorius competitions and hinted at things to come.

  • Odan-Urr’s Consul wrote a report talking about Tipping Point and openings in a COU House.

  • Drac dropped a report you will want to read. Really. Seriously. It has updates about how the GMRG is going to be operating following this quarter, as well as some changes to gaming when it comes to inter-unit competition.

  • There is a Wiki Report where I got to chat a bit on the Wiki, and the Featured Page and Wikipedian of the Month were announced. (Man, I hate feeling like I am tooting my own horn.)

  • The end of Pro Bowl was announced and results were released.

  • Atra announced an intriguing competition with Tempered Iron. The accompanying report gives a bit of insight into the inner workings of the Inquisitorius following the War which marked the start of our larger campaign against the Collective.

Of interest in the fact that the standings for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th were separated by a spread of seven points. Second and third were split by a difference of one point and third and fourth were split by only two points. So there was a bit of stiff competition in some areas, which was really neat to see. Participation ratios were pretty even, but Marka Ragnos brought a few more people and took home some crescents to really help the Ragnosians shine in this latest event.

Statistics and placements aside, I do want to take a moment to offer congratulations to all Sadowans who took time to participate during the event!

Ongoing Competitions of Note

  • The FIST’s Warframe test is still ongoing for a few days more.

  • Our Proconsul is running a puzzle competition for the Clan

  • Horrors at Holographic Funland is still running for another week or so

  • Shimura Keibatsu is running an event where the Collective have taken over a locale, in particular your favorite dive bar. How do you cope?

  • again, Locke’s Dark Flame comp is running for House Marka Ragnos

  • do not forget about the FIST’s Monthly Gaming for September

  • Be sure to take part in the Tempered Iron comp if you are ACC qualified. If you are not qualified, you can take the qualification exam here

  • The Heist is running. I encourage you all to take part in the RO for Clusters of Ice, character development, and a chance at Crescents!

  • Particularly intriguing is the soon-to-end Clear My Name competition, where you tell a tale of accusation and intrigue

  • Your very own Consul has created a fictional competition. In it, you get to play “what if” with a titular moment of the classic Star Wars sage. What if….Luke had taken Cloud City as an opportunity to join his father to “rule the galaxy”. How would this affect the galaxy? How would this affect your character? Would the Clan and Brotherhood have existed, survived or thrived? Would you be just another face in the crowd? You can tell your tale!

  • An Epic Year of Trivia continues into September

Parting Words

We have some exciting times ahead. We have a chance to take part in a story that we can really own. As a Golden-Era-style Sith Empire, I think that we can really set ourselves apart from the rest of the crowd. This situation also offers us a way to fight and take part in the struggle with the Collective in interesting and unique ways.

If anybody needs any help in getting kicked off into things, has an idea to develop our fictional direction further, has thoughts or concerns they wish to bring forward, I am as ever open to hearing from you. I might be echoing myself a little hard in saying this, but I do look forward to seeing you all prove to the Collective and the galaxy how Clan Naga Sadow is the best Clan of the Brotherhood!

Show the Collective and the galaxy at large that we are the best Clan in the Brotherhood!

I remain, as ever, your Servant in Darkness,
